I have been trying without any luck to add a bevelled edge to the background where it meets the photo. The idea is to make the black background look like a card frame around the photo. I think the bevelled edge would be referred to as a pillow bevel with chisel corners.

Apr 10, 2011Trying to make some micro ads (90x25) used on financial sites. I want to set my page size to that but can't. The smallest height the program will accept is 50pix.
Is there some way to override? Prefer to set page size so it matches the exported graphic. Less jaggies, less errors on my part.
How about a tutorial on clipview (need refresher for use with animation.. is the clip applied on every frame?)
AutoCAD Inventor :: How To Convert STP To Micro Station
Nov 25, 2013Micro Station and using imported Inventor files?
Part of of the contract on our current job requires me to export my Inventor model out to a generic .stp format, so our client can use it at their end. Apparently they are using Micro Station, not sure what version yet.
My first attempt I was able to successfully create the .stp file, but it took about 15 hours and was 1.2 gb in file size.
I attempted to open it on another Inventor machine to check the conversion, but after 4 days it was still working on it....
Part of the problem was I just selected the default options when opening the .stp file, which have "import into repair environment" and such on. But this was in Inventor, does Micro Station have similar options? I have yet to try it with these options off. But I'm guessing it will still take way too long to open.
I think my only option is to convert several levels of detail into separate .stp files, not sure on file size of those as of yet. Even though the origins should remain the same, I will have a constant reference object of some kind so the end user can assembly everything correctly....
Lightroom :: Micro Four Thirds Lens Correction?
Aug 16, 2012Obviously LR seems to use some of the lens correction information it gets from Micro Four Thirds cameras. This shows when compared to results from RAW converters that don't.
I have noticed this for my Olympus OM-D and the 12-50 mm zoom. Is that the reason why there is no lens profile for that lens in Lightroom? And is this the case for all MFT lenses?

Lightroom :: Lens Correction Profiles For Micro 4 / 3S Lenses?
Apr 21, 2012Recently bought into the m43s system because of the compact fast primes (Lumix G 20 1.7 and Olympus 24 1.8) and it looks like there are no "built-in" lens profiles for either in LR4 when I check "enable lens corrections". I thought I read somewhere that the 20 1.7 requires correction as it has a significant amount of (barrel, iirc) distortion if not corrected, yet the RAW images look fine upon import -- is Lightroom doing something that does not require a profile?

(they seem to be fairly heavily biased towards illustrator, as far as I could make out). And is it worth trying to make a few bucks this way, or is the market already oversaturated?

I have a box shape, open in the front which will be 1 part of a larger furniture unit.
I would like to create a beveled edge along the front face to receive a similarly beveled drawer.
This has been a problem.
I've read that I should look in the surface window and choose planar surface, but the inventor 2012 that I have has no planar surface tab.
So, any better way to create a bevel on an open box.

Mar 23, 2011I tried to apply a transparency to a beveled rectangle and was unsuccessful to get any effect to apply. Tried to make the bevel first and then apply transparency and vice-versa, a transparent rectagle and tried to do bevel effect. Neither way would work.
Don't they play nice together, or do I have to try it in PP?

I would like to add more to the white background to make it bigger without having to stretch it and distort the image.
I want to place a circle shaped outline border around the original image with a set border thickness and color and be able to crop/remove the portion of the image beyond the outline, changing it from a square/rectangle image to a circular image.
If I am not able to change the drawing to have a round outer border from square, how can I make the outer parts past the newly created circular outline transparent?

Nov 30, 2004I want to make a border for something. The border is basically a christmas light border around some text. What I did was I took a picture of one lightbulb and edited it so that I just got the lightbulb (no background or anything...). What I want to do is basically create a border from that single light bulb by alternating the colors of the bulb (like how you can with a brush). Can I create a new brush out of that light bulb? I coulda sworn I've done it before, and there was a lesson on brushes in the book... But I can't figure out how. Or maybe theres a way to get around it by doing a some sort of border?
