Right now, i am workin on my ultimate workspace for photoshop, but I have one more interest. I wanted to see if it was possible for me to use the window> Arrage>new window for feature and have it save as a permanent dock for my photoshop workspace. That way, when I open up a image on photoshop, I don't have to worry about going to window on my application bar and starting this feature.
View 1 RepliesI installed CS 6 yesterday. My system runs 64 bit Win 7. In Preferences > Interface, as I did in CS 5, I unchecked both Open Documents as Tabs and Enable Floating Document Window. However, unlike CS 5, in CS 6 images 'insist' on positioning themselves in the upper left corner of CS 6 and will cover both the options bar and the tool bar. For example, this will happen after opening an image if I try to move it or if I enlarge the image window (CTRL-0). If I open two images and try to move one so I can see both at the same time, the one I try to move will not stay where I put it but instead will reposition itself to the upper left, and cover the options bar and menu bar.

this makes working in CS 6 difficult and inconvenient. I assume this is a bug, and wonder if there are any workarounds or other solutions. To this point, I have not yet uninstalled and re-installed CS 6.
I follow a tutorial about making a pattern and she tells me to paste. I need to have the right channel marked. I do have the black dot in the right channel, and the channel is marked. I have a mask selected. I click paste, nothing happens.

It's a brick and I'm planning to have 3 channels for it. Light, dark and something in between recolorable. I even saved a selection and then loaded it onto the correct channel. I tried to delete the extra mask channels hoping it was still saved. Then all knowledge of any maskes seems to be gone. As you can see on this picture I have all the channels there with masks, but it's still not being saved. I load this into another program and channels is nothing but 3 different colors all over. There is no selection. When I'm trying to save this as dds It says I have 3 alpha channels, they are suppose to be red, green and blue! [URL] ........

View 3 Replies View Relateda way to duplicate a layer behind a layer, rahter than in front of a layer? Maybe through an action script? I have tried a few times without luck. ...basically, I do a lot of architectural photo composites. When I am placing trees, I often duplicate layers, and scale, and tint to fill in area. But when I duplicate the layer allways goes in front, rather than behind. Since I can only scale down to keep my resolution crisp, I then have to manually drag that layer down the list, so it is behind the layer that was duplicated.

As I work on one file the other updates at the same time. I tried selecting "duplicate" under Windows but this duplicates the window as "Image #" and does not update when I change the original file.

I was watching one of the tutorials by Scott Georgeson on lynda.com on Corel X6.  It was on the polygon tool where he was  making a polygon and adding different colored duplicate layers on top to make it multicolored.  He said to hold the plus+ key and then grab handle to shrink one of the layers down to show some of the underlying layer.  When I try this the layers aren't isolated and the whole thing moves.  I saw a check box in the settings to edit layers separately but didn't work.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen a raw file badge shows that the file has been changed, I use Metadata Save to File & for the large majority of my images, the badge goes away and Metadata Status Changed does not show the file. For some of my files, however, the Save to File command doesn't work properly. If I am only displaying files with changes, the file briefly disappears, then returns. Even if I go to Windows Explorer and delete the xmp file, then again Save metadata to file, it pops up again with the badge saying it needs to be saved. I'm using Lightroom 4.3 64 bit on Windows 7.
View 12 Replies View RelatedI'm using CS6 and noticed that whenever I delete a layer that was a dupe of another layer with links (although not linked specifically to the deleted layer), the undeleted original layers become invisible on the canvas even though they are still visible in the layers pallette. I've been able to recreate this several times. Nothing I do will make the layers visible -I've tried moving them all to the top of the layers palette, making sure their opacity is 100%, making sure there are no layer effects, etc.

Under Windows images, only the first link Tile is active. That means I can only have one layout open at a time. The next four in that section are grayed out. I need to use the last one, Consolidate all to tabs.
I re-created preferences and also did a system restore to a prior date without success. I am working on a class assignment and digital scrapping layout.

My problem: I'm at the part where I need to make windows, this, by extruding selected subdivisions inwards, using the z axis. The problem is that the selected faces wont enter the building. In others words, the selected subdivisions wont extrude inwards, so that no recess (or window) appears. They go outward just fine, but going inward, the subdivision remains lined up with the outer face of the structure, so that no recess appear and the structures face remains flat.

Is there any reason the opacity won't stay completely opaque for the pencil and paint tools (and possibly other tools)? I have opacity set to 100% in the options bar at the top as well as the fill and opacity settings on the layers pallette. I can't see anywhere where opacity is being set to less than 100%.

When I create the project I set the background to transparent. I do not add a new background to compete with the transparent background.
......if it opens at all. laptop is above min spec for pse 10. sometimes it opens fine sometimes it gets to the selection screen and when you choose say ORGANISE, it shuts down sometimes it just doesnt open at all when it does it will only allow you to see a 3X2 view or lower in the organise screen, any more and you just get hour glasses this is a real bummer i have paid £100 for this and premiere which does the same errors that elements does i have been using elements since elements 3
View 1 Replies View RelatedIt used to be that I very rarely used fonts within CS5 but recently I have. I realized that all of the fonts supposedly included with CS5 are not available via my drop down menu.

I then found these fonts in Windows/fonts so I copied all of those fonts into Program Files/Common Files/Adobe/Fonts. These unavailble fonts are now listed in that folder but are still not available via the dropdown menu in PS CS5.

I've recently read that the fonts don't really even NEED to be in the Program Files/Common Files/Adobe/Fonts folder and that PS should actually make all of the fonts in Windows/Fonts available via the dropdown menu. Yes, I have restarted PS after copying the files and also tried rebooting my PC after copying the files. The fonts are still not available via the drop down text menu within PS even though all of them are now in both locations.
try as i might i cannot get scrubby zoom to stay turned off when i reopen photoshop ? i have turned off the scrubby zoom check box in the top interface menu and have turned off animated zoom in the preferences menu.I have restarted multiple times and have the latest Photoshop patch

I open it, it opens fine, then windows tells me photoshop has stopped working. I've restarted, re-installed and tried over and over, but it won't stay open for longer than 5 seconds. My mother gave me CS6 to replace CS4.
