Mar 10, 2005I'm trying to figure out a way to "knock-out" text from an opaque layer to reveal the background image beneath it. Essentially (I'm guessing), it would have the background image, then an opaque layer, then text.
I need to figure out some way (using masking?) to have the text be on the opaque layer and then knock it out like a die-cut so that it creates a hole in the opaque layer (where the text was) and ends up revealing the background layer beneath.

Dec 9, 2005I made this cool splash effect,
I used the paint brush on white back grount and made two big blobs of mixxed up squiggles on each side of the page. Then I went filter > blur > radial blur 100% x 2.
That makes the ripples, but I can't remember how to make the splash in the middle!!!
After the steps I cant remember I did render > sketch > chrome

They seem to of been tilted in a way that the front end of the screenshot seems closer to the screen then the other end.
They also have a rather nice glow around the edges of it.

I can see that the letters have been cut out of some kind of background that has lines diverging from a centre point, but how could I re-create this?

It's a small image but you can see that it's a picture that's been blended with a cool blue effect. I would like to do this, but am not sure how to get there.

Oct 12, 2011I've been a faithful photoshop user for quite some time now, but today I got wickedly impressed by this tiny software that features this awesome specular highlighting technique that photoshop does not do by default.This software is called "Art Text 2"H! I had prepared some image links but cause I'm so new I can't put them.[URL]...
As you can see, the bevel reflection is created using the specular information of the "sphere map". Furthermore the program allows you to change the sphere map highlights interactively, and even choose your own image sphere maps. This is just amazing, isn't it? Creating realistic metal text or things is just super easy with this. I think everyone of us has had problems doing realistic metal effects on photoshop, am I wrong?
In Photoshop you have the "bevel and emboss" style feature, and it works pretty well, but it isn't made for say: reflecting a window on the beveled text.Sphere maps are commonly used in gaming to simulate realistic reflection of 3d objects, and I can think of a million ways of using this technique on 2d. way of simulating this sphere map reflection on layers on Photoshop?

What you will see is one robot tending two tool changers.
I know the quality was rushed, but you should see that one of the two stands actually has the end effector tooling on it.
My question is how do i define a grip from the robot to that tool, so I can move it to the other riser (as you can tell from the animation).
I am not working in Inventor Studio, otherwise this would be somewhat simple. I am doing this in Dynamic Simulation.
My thought was to create a spacial joint between the robot and the tool. But then how would I control through the timing where its location is?

Nov 3, 2004I'm desinging a site for a local tattoo shop and i made the layout. How do i keep that same layout for all the pages of the site, but have the content on it for those pages? Would i like them the same way and link would be used in html? Also, i read constant tutorials about slicing and i still do not get it. I'm trying to slice the layout so i can have the content area fully manually editable in html without the layout breaking up into pieces which happens when people are new at slicing.
