Photoshop :: Layer Is Copied When Using Rotate Transformation
Oct 8, 2012Every time I rotate a layer, that layer is copied and then rotated. How do I just rotate a layer without making copies? i'm using CS5 with the latest updates.

View 2 RepliesI would like to reuse the existing sketch on the other part. Usually I did it without problems. But now after I have pasted the existing sketch I cannot move or rotate it. While moving or rotating Inventor usually prompts for braking some constraints for this action. But nevertheless it does not allow me to move or rotate. It says something about "constraint settings for sketch edit tools"Â -- cannot get any hint of that in a whole phrase nor in part [URL] what else Inventor wants so I can reuse my sketches??
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a sample 3d eCover and I want to fit an image over the front part. However, I'm having a hard time transformating my image to perfectly the front layer. Is there any option to apply the same transformation of my front cover layer to my image?

Additional info:
Â
1. The front cover layer of the 3D eCover is not yet merged with the other layers. So, I can still edit it.
2. I'm using Adobe Photoshop CS6.
Not sure if this is a bug, or has been previously reported, but using large thumbnails in the layers panel with copied shape layers. You can see that Shape 2 shows content, but the thumbs on the copies appear empty. Not life and death, but those thumbs are useful - when they work.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have two maps of same area (different years) and I want to match them up as one map. I can load them both as layers and make the older map transparent so that I can see through to newer map, but older map is larger than the newer map (in the background). I can move the transparent map but I cannot make just the transparent map smaller to fit over the other map. I will also need to rotate the map slightly. When I try to resize it changes both maps. I have tried the transform and the move tool. So how can I make one layer smaller and rotate it it leaving the other layer intact?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI' only trying to create a logo for a project of mine.
This logo is composed by two things: the first one is the picture of the logo itself, than the second is the text part (which is not the hardest thing to do).
What I'm trying to do is, once have drown the "subject" (a light blue drop, in my case), to copy and paste it in order to have other four copies of the same drop, but moved and rotated to create something like a circle..
You can find the original logo I created attached. But I'm not really satisfied with it (this is also why I'm writing here!) =)
I'd like to re-create it and put the drops as in the attached logo....
I want to rotate a layer, in this case the background. The Help says "Choose Edit > Transform > Rotate. A box defining the boundaries of the layer (called a bounding box) appears." No. There is no such command. There is a command Free Transform Path and a menu Transform Path, the latter with a command Rotate, but this refers to paths, not to layers.
This is CS5, version 12.1-64 on Mac 10.6.8
I just got started using Photoshop and can't see to figure out a way to rotate just one layer, such as text, rather than the entire canvas.
I would like to be able to place it on a diagonal.
I'm running Gimp 2.8.4 on Ubuntu 13.04 Linux (64-bit) and I'm trying touse the "Bevel and Emboss" layer effect on an image which I copied fromanother image. Here is what I've done:
1. Loaded image 'A' into Gimp
2. Selected a portion of it
3. Used "/Edit/Copy" to copy the selection
4. Used "/Edit/Paste As/New image" to create a new image from the selection
5. In the new window for the new image, "/FX-Foundry/Layer effects/Bevel and Emboss"
6. When the "Bevel and Emboss" window opens, I accept the defaults and click "Ok"
The filter starts to run and then stops with an error message. Here is the message I get:
------------ START ------------------
Bevel and Emboss Message
Error while executing script-fu-layer-effects-bevel-and-emboss:
Error: ( : 1) Procedure execution of gimp-selection-layer-alpha failed on invalid input arguments: Item 'Pasted Layer copy' (87) cannot be used because it has not been added to an image

When I rotate a layer in one frame in cs6 animation it rotates it in all frames in either timeline. How do I stop that from happening
View 14 Replies View Relatedis it possible to rotate a text layer not by the free transform option? can we do it (for example) precisely 90º CW...?
What I want to do is to combine two commands, editing (copy, move, rotate) and change layer.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to create a CD cover and the back side is one solid color with the visual of a page turning down. How can I do this. I have been working with the 3D transformation, but not sure if this is the best way.
Also, the only way I can choose Filter - 3D Trans is when I am in Mask. At home I can choose it under a regular layer. Does anyone know why this is happening. I get the cone the way I want it, but when I hit OK it is in mask and not a solid cone.
Does the transformation box offer a good and bad choice?
The pic below shows the box with red and green sections. Is that just an odd thing or is that there for a reason?
Something like "if it's red you shouldn't move it and if it's green you can move it" kind of thing.
What happens to the image when I transform (Ctrl +T) the image regarding to its re-sampling interpolation aspects? By transform I mean make it bigger or smaller.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIn the image size dialog you can determine what gonna happened with the pixels when you change the size of an image by check or uncheck the re-samping. But what happens to an image when I commit a transformation operation (Ctrl + T)?

I have a RGB = (28,97,255) want to transform into CMYK.
Which number should I use?

Basically, I have a text and I want it to "circulate" around a certain point, with perspective and readability as demonstrated on the picture.
I'm trying to warp a rectangular shape into something more arched, like the image below. There doesn't seem to be any transformation options under the Edit -> Transform menu. Can this be done? Can it be done to at least 180 degrees?
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I transform a smart object, its filter mask doesn't get transformed as well. The same holds true for the mask for the smart object itself, but one can put the smart object into a group and add the mask to the group as a workaround.
But what should I do with the filter mask ? The only workaround I was able to think of, was to copy the filter mask to another layer in the same group as the smart object, transform the whole group and put the filter mask back to its original place. But I can hardly imagine that this is the suggested way to work by Adobe, or is it?
All I could find in the help is this:
> By default, layer masks are linked to regular layers. When you move the layer mask or the layer using the Move tool, they move as a unit. Masks applied to Smart Object layers, including filter masks, arent linked to layers. If you move a filter mask or a layer using the Move tool, they do not move as one unit.
I downloaded a trial of Adobe Photoshop CC and when I started it up I noticed these dotted lines on the transformation control lines. I sure it's not a new feature because I did not see this in videos of people using Photoshop CC. My computer also meets all the requirements for the application and it runs really smoothly. This really bugs me because it glitches sometimes too.

I have a 72 dpi smart object with text & images inside another 72 dpi SO and need to transform it (distort and/or perspective). Once I do so the anti-aliasing becomes very poor thus making the SO's text almost illegible. Is there a way to improve this? Maybe change the way the SO is being anti-aliased?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI copied 2 pictures and I want to set them as my background. Is this possible?
They are 2 seperate files.
I'm working on a PNG that's supposed to be tiled for use as a web background. It's an image of clouds, and since it's an organic form, I want to avoid it looking tiled, I'm editing the edges to make them blend together.
I've got 9 identical layers over a white background, and what I'm LIKE to do is have any change I make in one layer be reflected in all 9. Can that be done? It would come in pretty handy about now...
I'm having an issue with editing layers copied from one file to another in Photoshop CS. It seems to be essentially locking the layers and I can't figure out how to unlock them. I've tried duplicating them, renaming them, and resetting my tool preferences (I'm desparate and frustrated). They are in the same mode. This also tends to be an issue with opening a .jpg or .gif file and trying to edit it.
it seems the issue was my computer had the user permissions set for read/write only. Once I changed it so that all users had all permissions I was able to edit it.
I copied a 500x333 pixel image into a blank white document 1000x 700, but after I dragged the photo over it looked about a third as large. They are both 72 res. I don't get it.
