I have images from old photographs and drawings that I want to enlarge to A3 sent files to printers and they are only 150dpi Printer ran off 13 proofs (out of 125) for me only 6 of a quality I can just about get away with using...Is there anyway I can increase DPI on images to achieve 300dpi to give me a clear print
View 8 RepliesIm creating a label for my CD, and I created the images with PS7 & then imported them into coreldraw in EPS format to do the text. (I heard that vector programs create cleaner, crisper text than bitmap programs,and my fonts are between 8 - 10 size). I added my text & some vector clipart then printed it directly from CorelDraw & the text & clipart was super crisp but the imported image was gritty, so I exported the entire file back into PS7 in Corel EPS format. I printed it in PS7 & the reverse happened: The image was nice & clean & the text was gritty. Am I importing/exporting in some wrong fashion, or there a way to have both my images & text come out crisp & clean?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to extend the edges of a number of images to give myself extra bleed room for print. The images have bits that are a little too near the edge and I need more room. The effect I'm looking for is repeating the final edge row of pixels for 1/8 of an inch beyond the original image on all side.
The obvious solution, manually repeating the row of pixels is too time consuming for the number of images I need to format.
The solution would have been simple if the imbeciles at adobe hadn't moved the "extend edges" option to the Oh-So-Useful auto lens correction tab in the lens correction filter. (how I HATE thee, Adobe)... Alas, I'm using CS5 and need an alternative solution.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just bought the PHOTOSHOP CS4, and I am having problem when it prints. The image is not clear, it has dots (pixels). This computer where I installed this program is brand new. I have previously worked with Photoshop CS2 and never had an issue but was force to buy this new one because the computer that I bought has Windows Vista and CS2 is not compatible. I thought maybe the problem was my printer but is not I have a Brother HL-5140 (black and white). I have connected my old computer with the printer and the images print perfectly fine. I have printed photos and it prints clear. But this only happens with Photoshop CS4. It prints dots.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a jpeg of an image that I will have to increase roughly 140% for a final print size of 16"x20". I am creating the final design in InDesign, but am editing the image in Photoshop first. My question is what's the best way to increase the size of the jpeg first in Photoshop (I assume) so that when I bring it into InDesign it is maximized in terms of resolution but not so large that the file size prohibitive for sending.
I've already cropped the image, but haven't adjusted any of the sizes. The dimensions are currently: 3233 pixels x 2586 pixels, and 10.777 in x 8.62 in at 300 pixels per inch.
Do I bring it into InDesign this way or increase the document size first in Photoshop?If I increase the size in Photoshop, I assume I should resample the image. If I do, that increases the pixel dimensions and file size to over 82.4M. Is there a way to keep the 300 ppi resolution while reducing the file size?
This is a 4K image, zoomed out, it closely resembles a grid, although you would never know. I want a clear view when zoomed out of my grid.

Why don't my photos have strong enough resolution to be printed? Even 4x6. I'm shooting with Canon70d. Would this be corrected by a setting on my camera, or is there an option in Lightroom that will allow me to resize my image in order to print a crisp and clear 8x10.

I am a composer and I want to create "score perusal" videos of my music which I will upload to YouTube and embed on my website. I compose using a software notation program called Finale. There are two "views" in Finale:
1. Page view: the score looks just like an actual score with pages numbers, the notes, words, etc. showing one page at a time
2. Scroll view where the score is laid out horizontally.
In either view, I can "play" the score while a green line follows the music, turning pages (in page view) or scrolling horizontally (in scroll view). I can also "print" the pages as PDFs (but not as images).
Here's what I've tried in VSx6:
1. Using Screen Capture, I recorded the score as it scrolled across the screen. I put that Screen Capture in the video track and then imported the audio into the music track and synced it up. In VSx6 when I played it back using "project," the score looks bad (fuzzy). If I play back only the scrolling score (iow, no audio) it looks good (not razor sharp but legible), however, it can't afford to lose any sharpness or it will become too fuzzy. I have read on this forum that I should ignore such the quality before the movie is created (rendered?) and that all be well when saved as a movie.
2. From Finale I exported each page as a PDF (that my only choice). Concerted the PDFs to .png files. I tried normal and high quality. The higher quality (larger) the png file, the worse it looked in VS. Using a movie template, I put the .png files in as "pictures" (pages) and then, again, I synced the music.
I've tried saving the above in about every format available but seem clear enough, especially once they get uploaded to youtube.
I know there are many parameters. The two most important things are size, that is, I want the score to go from top to bottom of the frame since the notes are small, and of course, clarity... crisp as possible.
-Do I want 60p/50 editing checked under "Settings"? I can't see what it does.
-I assume I want 4:3 ratio since these are portrait pages?? (If I have 16:9 unchecked, does that mean 4:3 becomes the default?)
-In screen capture, does a higher quality monitor make a clearer picture, or does it not matter?
-In YouTube I note that one has to click the gear and then select 1080p. If Auto is set then it seems to play at 720p? I've only come close to what I need by setting it to 1080p but I fear many will not even know that setting is there.
Bottom, line, is it possible to get a clear enough image on YouTube or is this just not doable? I haven't tried printing (in ink) the score then scanning the pages and loading them into a movie. Is that a better option perhaps?
any easy or not so easy techniques to combine 3 different exposed images together, while retain good information out of each image.
Combining image like this will then have all detail in highlights, good exposure in mid tones, then all detail in shadow areas.
Also has anyone come across any situations where photographing like this could be useful?
Adjustment layer- curves. I have always used a Curves Adjustment Layer in CS3 to brighten images and increase contrast. I have just upgraded to CS6 and when I open the adjustment layer and try to Command Click choose points in the photograph to drag the line up or down to darken or lighten I get instead some crazy saturation changes.

I can not print imported images (JPG or TIFF) large size 80 - 260 Mb.
Print all but the raster! I tried to print on a plotter in JPG, TIFF, in whole or in parts, useless.
If I export the whole project in JPG 2000x3000 pix, all right, but I have 9000x10000 pixels - that size is not exported.
I have PhotoShop 4, unfortunately. When I saved my pictures at 300 dpi inRGB and imported them into a PDF program called Serif, Serif said they were 175 dpi. I saved them in CMYK in PSD and Serif said they were 200 dpi. I want to print the artwork in a book and would like to send them to the printer as 300 dpi.
