any easy or not so easy techniques to combine 3 different exposed images together, while retain good information out of each image.
Combining image like this will then have all detail in highlights, good exposure in mid tones, then all detail in shadow areas.
Also has anyone come across any situations where photographing like this could be useful?
Adjustment layer- curves. I have always used a Curves Adjustment Layer in CS3 to brighten images and increase contrast. I have just upgraded to CS6 and when I open the adjustment layer and try to Command Click choose points in the photograph to drag the line up or down to darken or lighten I get instead some crazy saturation changes.

I started by making an image with no one in the scene using the Median blend mode with a layer stack to remove all the people. Worked fine. Now, I am hoping there is some way to create masks or knockouts of the people in each of the individual images by somehow comparing them to the scene with no people. Some way to mask out or knock out those areas which are different, i.e. the people. I will then stack all the images of the people on top of one another to create a very complicated image showing the volume of traffic.

I was looking at a picture of someone where they took a picture of a pumpkin, and one of themselves, they managed to combine the images so that their face was in the pumpkin, as if they freally had a pumpkin for a head. can anyone direct me on how to do this, it was really cool.

One is of some trees, with "holes" cut out where the leaves were (I used a a mask to generate transparent regions where the leaves should be), and another Duotone image of just the leaves. I would like to combine the two, with each Duotone image retaining its unique and different color scheme. If all went well, the leaves would be visible in the transparent "holes" of the tree image. However, when I try combining the two, by dragging one on top of the other, they both take on the Duotone color scheme of the trees image. So I do see the leaves in the "holes", but they have lost their unique coloring. Is it possible to combine these two Duotone images in some manner? The Duotones are saved in the default .psd format.

I can't just change the pixels to 640x360 because that would distort the images as the current aspect ratios are not 16:9.
When an image is cropped using the cropping tool to a preset aspect ratio (without specifying a resolution), the resolution of the cropped image is different than the original. I'd like to be able to understand exactly how this new resolution is determined and be able to calculate it myself. The help section of the software just says, "If you use a preset size, the resolution changes to fit the preset." But I'd like to know the details of how the resolution changes.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an folder with approx 500 photos that have been optimised in the Develop module (aspect ratio set at AS SHOT) and exported to photo lab for 2 x 3 prints. Now I need to use these same images for a slideshow and set an aspect ratio of 16 x 9 1920 x 1080 for viewing on HD Television. I do not want to change the AS SHOT aspect ratio of these images in the current folder. so first, this means I need to make a copy of this folder within Lightroom and second, change the aspect ratio to 16 x 9 for all images at the Quick develop module and complete in the slideshow module. The second part is no problem but how do you "copy" a folder of images in Lightroom OR alternatively can you make a virtual copy of a folder?

Sometimes it seems to work, other times not at all (i.e. if I open the histogram, it shows just one line all the way to the left; the lack of colour suddenly becomes an issue).
I like to use a soft, slightly opaque brush at first - which with the tablet gives it a nice range of pressure, but then usually I need to up the contrast at a later point.
I'm using PS CS6.
