View 1 Replies View RelatedAdjustment layer- curves. I have always used a Curves Adjustment Layer in CS3 to brighten images and increase contrast. I have just upgraded to CS6 and when I open the adjustment layer and try to Command Click choose points in the photograph to drag the line up or down to darken or lighten I get instead some crazy saturation changes.

It is an unnatural state since your eye and most cameras will adjust to one extreme or the other.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am creating a simple background using 'Artistic effect - Sponge' in illustrator CS6. I took a simple Khaki box and put it through the effect. I like how the effect looks, it turned the background into a blotchy pattern contrasting from greys to khaki tones. Is it possible to set the parameters so that it would contrast between shades of lavender and khaki instead of the greys it is using now?

View 1 Replies View RelatedIllustrator Question regarding the texturization window. For some reason, every texture included (as well as one that I made in Photoshop), shows up in the Texturization window with a resolution of about 20 x 20 pixels. Even the simple sandy texture I made with Photoshop is displayed with poor resolution.
When I try File >> Place >> sand_texture.psd and drag it into the Swatches window, the texture isnt added no matter what I try.
I have included an image of what I see when opening the Texturization window.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have never used crop marks before. I am trying to do an Illustrator tutorial intended for CS3. The instructions say:
"Select the square, and in the Menu go Filter > Create > Crop Marks. Increase the square size to 4.125in by 3.875in. This square will be the size of our image, which is 1/8in larger than the crop marks. This ensures no white-space when you or the printers cut these labels out."
I found a way to make crop marks in CS6 using effect>cropmarks. The problem is when I increase the size of the square it also increases the crop marks. But it says in the square will be 1/8in larger than the crop marks. What am I doing wrong?

I don't want to have to be within two pixels or so to be able to highlight or grab an anchor point. I've tried upping the selection tolerance to 8 px and it hasn't appeared to do anything.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI’m a PS user new to Illustrator (CS6). In PS, using the bracket keys [] to increase/decrease brush point size will simultaneously update the data displayed in the tool panel at the top.
While I can use the bracket keys in Illustrator to change the appearance of the brush stroke, it is not being updated in the tool panel input or in the stroke window…so I can essentially have (2) 3 pt strokes created with the same brush that don’t visually match but whose display properties DO match. Because I will be doing lots of editing I certainly don’t want to work this way.

View 1 Replies View RelatedQuick question: If I am creating a black line drawing with a brush, how can I ensure that I will be able to alter the contrast later on? Sometimes it seems to work, other times not at all (i.e. if I open the histogram, it shows just one line all the way to the left; the lack of colour suddenly becomes an issue).
I like to use a soft, slightly opaque brush at first - which with the tablet gives it a nice range of pressure, but then usually I need to up the contrast at a later point.
I'm using PS CS6.

When I'm using the pen tool in Photoshop CS4, it sometimes takes the color of what I'm using the pen tool on, ie; if I'm working with a picture with a bright green or pink, the path is bright green or pink (see link below) The picture isn't the worst that it does, but if I took a screenshot when it's at it's worst, you wouldn't see anything. I went through all the preferences and saw nothing. I do have the OpenGL acceleration turned on.
