View 1 RepliesI recently sent a design to come printers and they are only capable of printing 7 colors. Unfortunately, the design consists of 8+ colors. I don't know how to use illustrator too well and I was glad when they offered to simplify it. The only problem is that I have to change it to 15" at 300dpi and I don't know how to. I was informed that it was at 1.3".
The design consists of imported photos and they are all set as vector images.
how to change the file from 1.3" to 15"

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm using Elements 11. In order to add watermarks to many JPG pics at once, I use the function "Process Multiple Files".
I select a source folder and a destination folder, and adds a three digit serial number to each file. I do NOT tick the checkbox marked "Change picture size". After that I define the watermark I want printed on my pics and hits OK. All the files in the source folder are processed and saved, with a new name in the destination folder. Fair and square.
But. The file size of the new file is heavily reduced, compared to the original. It goes from 10 MB down to 500 KB (in general). Why is that? Is there any way I can prevent it?
I created a photobook in photoshop elements 9 and selected "print locally". Now I want to send it to a commercial printer and can't figure out how to do so. I have checked with both Shutterfly and Costco, and they want each page sent as a separate picture.... How do I do that?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am creating an image in photoshop that a printer is going to use to make a postcard to advertise my website. He needs it in 300dpi resolution in order for it to print correctly. I have already created the vector image that is in 300dpi res, but need to add photos to the image. He said that everything needs to be in 300dpi resolution, including the photos that I add to the image.
I already have one photo that is in jpeg format that is at 300dpi, but I did not create that. I scanned in a photo at 300dpi as a tif file, and would like to convert it to jpeg while preserving its 300dpi resolution. I have tried everything in Photoshop that I know (which is not all that much) to try to accomplish this task, but to no avail.

Have a question regarding the preparation of a TIFF image for printing. I would like to take the image and use it as the background for a printed flyer I want to mass-produce.
Currently the properties of the image are:
pixel dimensions: 1600 × 790 pixels
print size: 564.44 × 278.69 millimetres
resolution: 72 x 72 ppi
colour space: RGB Colour
file size: 3.8MB
file type: TIFF
size in memory: 13.2 MB
number of pixels: 1264000
number of layers: 1
I have been told I need to provide an image at least 300 x 300 dpi in order for it to be printed at a decent resolution.
My flyer is going to be around 100mm x 200mm and will be printed on both sides. I will be placing text over the image too. I have the text ready so I just need to work out how to get the background image ready.
My question is, how do I get the image into a format which is acceptable for printing?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm working on a document with the necessary combination of bitmap and vector. After importing textures 300dpi (A4/24bit/jpg) the reaction slows down the program significantly, to the inability to continue working in it. Texture takes 40mega while in memory, but in my opinion it is not quite so much, it should not materially affect the normal operation. I am using CDrawX3, I tried to open it in a version 9 or 10. The fastest I came subjectively is CDraw Designer v10. But he still falls.I tried adjusting the amount of RAM for Corel or lower resolution bitmap import at 150 dpi. It's practically the same. It does not even mention the interactive transparency, or weld/trim operation, etc. I think, that the X4 or X5 are the same. Every year new version seems the same old software with the polished exterior. I'm used to work in Corel for technical drawings with lot of combination of bitmaps and vectors but unfortunately it will want to look for something else?
View 13 Replies View RelatedI created an Action to batch export a folder of .ai files to create 300dpi .png's of the .ai file's artboard. I did this by simply recording "Export...as png" with my desired settings then Batch running the Action on desired folder of .ai files. The files were successfully exported, the trouble is that the exported files lack a .png file extension. My intent is to take these PNG files and merge them into a single PDF using Acrobat Pro. Unfortunatly, without the .PNG extension, Acrobat Pro does not recognize the file types and does not let me use the Combine Files feature on them. Going back and manually adding a .png at the end of the exported files defeats the time-saving purpose of Batch Processing all together. Is there something I am missing or doing incorrectly? I have included screenshots of 1) My Batch Action settings 2) folders showing files without .png extension and 3) visual of what I see when I am trying to combine PNGs into a PDF.
