I was working on an image, and I wanted rollovers. I finished those up and went to save it [Save Optimized As...] and realized it was saving the images as .gif files. That's no good; it's a large image that looks terrible in .gif format.
I have been trying for quite some time now to get it to save as a 100% Quality, 0 Blur .jpg, I know I've done it before, and now it isn't working. As far as I can get is 60% [High; I want Maximum].
I have given a disc of photos to a client that she can't access without launching Photoshop on her Mac. They were scanned by me on an Epson as jpgs, then run through Photoshop (CS1) for touch-up and resaved as jpgs by me. Now I look under "get info" and see that they are all saved as "Photoshop Jpgs". this can be a big problem, as I intend to make a lot of discs for clients in the future. I don't want to have to tell them to use "Open with" every time they want to view a photo.
I'm trying to save some web interface work over a background image for my youtube page. One problem I'm having is that I can't save to png because my image ends up being over 1MB. I can't figure out how to get it under.
Everytime I save it, the solid button looks muddy and pixely. PNG ends up being about 3MB so it's too big.
Recently produced an image and saved as a jpg but need to save it as a gif. When saving as a gif some of the data was lost and the image appeared slightly pixilated. Gave the image to a webmaster and he converted the jpg to gif without any loss of quality. Any ideas where I went wrong please? Errr... before anyone asks, no I can't ask webmaster how he did it because he's gone on holiday.
I'm trying to import a jpg from PS into Flash. When I do, the jpg is washed out looking. The save preview in PS looks great, but when I open the jps in any other program, it looks washed out. Any ideas?
I produced a 4 page A5 brochure in InDesign. I would like to present my brochure as a mock-up. Should I use photoshop? Should I save the 4 pages as JPGs then place into Photoshop?
I copy a digital image from my Canon Rebel to my New Imac running OS Lion and Adobe CS5.When I view the file size, it's 3 MB before I open or do anything to it.
I open it in Photoshop and run some filters on it and the size climbs to 16 MB after I save as JPG baseline quality 12.If I again open that jpg (16MB) and apply "unsharp" mask" 6 more times and then save as JPG, baseline quality 12, the file size climbs to 20 MB on my mac.
WHY am I (suddenly) receiving 'bad file' messages when I try to upload jpgs that were created in PS? When I did a test and tried to upload PS jpgs that had been uploaded successfully before, the bad file msg popped up again. I also tried re-creating the PS file from scratch multiple times, made sure to save it under 'standard' format, tried making a new file and just placing the saved jpg (which will save ok to my computer) and then re-saved as a new jpg, but still the error message.
I'm using Vista 32. After updating to CS4 I can no longer open jpg files directly into PS by clicking on the file in windows explorer or an e-mail. After much searching and looking for file associations, I was able to get jpgs to open into Bridge from windows explorer, but still cannot get them to open directly in PS. When I attempt to open a jpg from an e-mail message, I get a window in Bridge pointed to a temp folder.
I'm having some trouble saving large, print-quality jpgs at 150 dpi. It seems that photoshop will only save the files, as long as they don't exceed a certain physical size.
The size I'm trying to save right now is 37" x 33" in inches or "5550 x 4950" in pixels.
When I save the file, even if I move the compression slider down halfway, it'll save, but it won't allow me to open it again, saying "invalid jpeg marker type found."
I'm in CS3 I have hi rez .psd files which are layered and have transparent backgrounds. I need to convert these to display on a web page and so far I resized the images and tried to save as jpgs, gifs and bmp's but the backgrounds are not transparent. How can I save for the web with transparent backgrounds?
I've been working in Illustrator and then rasterizing my file in Photoshop so I can save as a jpg, and for 2 drafts it went off fine, but of course the last and final draft it screws up the colors in the jpg completely, it looks fine when viewed in Ps but when I go to send it out and it's a hot mess...
I use Lightroom 4 to start my workflow on a MacBook laptop. I export my RAW image as a PSD file, then open the PSD in PSE 10. When I'm done working on the PSD file I want to save it as a JPG. But I can't find the JPG option in the Save As dialog box. This is my normal workflow using LR4 and PSCS6 on my desktop PC. So why can't I find the JPG option in the Save As dialog box in PSE10?
when I try to open a jpg nothing happens. I'm just doing what I normally do, File > Open then navigate to the jpg, but since this latest cat-sitting incident when I do this the jpg will not open. I get nothing but the big gray Photoshop main page.
Is there a way to link 2 identical version of a photo in PSE ? I more and more often also need the JPG as there are lots of soft/hardware that does not support raw-files. I want these programs/hardware to see the JPG only, while I also have access to my raw-files with the same metadata on.
how I changed the background on an animated gif, from white to transparent, on all frames, at one time. I did do that using ImageReady, didn't I? I must be having a major senior moment.....
i am trying to make a website with imageready, and i have the animations saved, but it wont let me optimize it (in the box) so then it automatically makes it a jpg, and i cant find a way to get it to a .gif.. because i want the animations.
I just started working with Photoshop and IR CS2 recently, migrating from PS 7. I am working on an image in photoshop and I want to jump to IR to add some rollover buttons. When I jump to IR and preview my work in IE or firefox, or view in the optimized view, it moves my images. It looks the way it should in normal view, but in the show optimized view things are moved. Why does it move the images? It seems in PS7 IR and PS worked more harmoniously. What has changed?
Once i apply my presets on raw images in camera raw i click to save all of the photos as JPGs. At the begining the saving takes 1.5-4 seconds per image. After saving for a while computer slows down and it takes almost 10 seconds to save one image.
It took more than 10 hours to save 4000 raw images as JPGs.

I have a psd image that is ~7000x7000 pixels and divided into ~800 slices.
I then:
Choose File | Save for Web | GIF 128 No Dither (and leave the other options, like 128 olors, Transparency, etc at the defaults). Click Save (in the Save for Web dialog).Specify a file name (e.g., myfilename.gif)..Leave "Images Only", "Background Image", and "All Slices" selected.Click Save.
>>>The first file, myfilename_01.gif is saved as a gif. All of the remaining 800 slices are saved as jpgs (e.g., myfilename_02.jpg). This happens every time.
I have about 400 JPGs with Camera Raw settings applied. I am trying to run a batch action on them in Photoshop but it keeps getting stuck opening each image in Raw. How do I run the batch on them or convert them into regular JPGs with the raw settings applied?
Until recently when I saved a 1000px x 1000px file as a jpg at 10 in CS6 on a Mac with Snow Leopard, the resulting file would be about 600-700k. Now the same process results in at file twice that size, about 1.2-1.5 mb. I have tried everything I can think of to find the source and correction for this phenomenon. Save for the Web works normally.
When I save a photo in Photoshop CS6 v13, as a .jpg file, it automatically gives me read and write permission, but not others. This is a pain as I have to change it each time I want to send someone a photo.
I posted here a few months ago concerning saving jpgs and that some of them were corrupted. Example would be to run an action converting 50 psds to jpgs. Anywhere from 1 to 3 or 4 be bad files. No problem with tifs or psds.
I have been trying to import jpgs from my pc into the organizer. I have met with some success but cannot figure out why it will import some jpgs and not others?
i have a pretty noob question, how do u make button rollovers for a website through photoshop/imageready? once my layouts are sliced, how is it possible to make rollovers? do i have to use dreamweaver? (i.e.- navigation text underlined when mouse is over it..) something basic as to that.
