i have a pretty noob question, how do u make button rollovers for a website through photoshop/imageready? once my layouts are sliced, how is it possible to make rollovers? do i have to use dreamweaver? (i.e.- navigation text underlined when mouse is over it..) something basic as to that.
I've been playing with PhotoShop 7 and ImageReady to creat my rollovers. I just added the Rollover state to each of my slices and saved it Optimized as HTML and Images. I previewed it but to my horror found out that when I changed the Over State it also changed the normal state.
I went back into ImageReady to try and fix this but each time I change one the other also changes. I can highlight each but cannot change only one.
I want the normal state text to be red and the over state text to be blue.
I've sliced quite a few homepages in ImageReady before and made rollovers for buttons etc without a problem. For some reason I'm having trouble with a slightly newer version (V9) of the program on my new laptop. I make all the rollover states, select all the slices and 'save optimised' html and images. However, none of the secondary rollover images appear in the images folder, just the normal state pics, so none of the buttons roll. I can't see what I would need to change in the settings to make the program save the rollover alternative images like it used to.
I've been designing a webpage through Photoshop and Imageready over the past few weeks and have created rollover buttons in imageready. The problem I have is that the rollovers work in preview mode and when I preview in IE, but not in Firefox.
i'm using it (and ImageReady) to create layered rollover buttons for my DVD Studio Pro project. I've figured out how to create a rollover with an "over" and a "down" state but my problem is that i want the button area to be small but the image change for each state to encompass the whole screen (basically the buttons will be a series of lights and when rolled over or pressed will light up the whole screen). so far i can only have the small area of the button change or have the whole screen as the button (which is no good because i want to have many buttons on each page). Perhaps each rollover state needs a different background?
My other problems, which may not be relevant to this forum, are:
a, I want to add a sound effect to each of the roll over states.
b, I'm tring to figure out how to have a page purely of audio tracks which play when pressed without changing the page.
I created a navigation using rollovers. I sliced it in imageready, and saved it as html and images. How do I get it on my site? Do I upload all the images then take the < body > part of the html from the rollover and paste it into my desired page? Because I tried doing that but the rollover doesn't work. When I move my mouse over it nothing happens, although in the original html document it did work.
When the mouse is moved over the link I get image boxes opening above and below the link but with no image in them. I have also noticed that Image ready has imported many of the graphics files with names such as Index_7-Index_14_over.gif so the file is not only the slice for Index 7 but the over gif as well. Im not sure what I am doing wrong but here is the page to show what I mean. I have redone the slices and rollover effects three times but still cannot..
Is it possible to do remote image rollovers in PS7? For example when I move the mouse over a link text or button an image on another part of the page changes.
If this is not possible in PS can I do it in deamweaver instead? I've seen a tutorial of it done in Fireworks but I dont use fireworks anymore.
I have a set of buttons and arrows all on different layers in PS. I want to make one of these arrows pop up to the left of the text upon rollover. Basic stuff.
What I'm confused about is how to do this using slices in PS and then putting it into Dreamweaver.
Do the arrows have to be on seperate slices? It seems so easy and yet my brain for some reason can't figure it out.
I have created a image map with rollovers included. I saved the PSD and optimized the image for web and it created the image and html data. All hot spots are working and the rollovers work well too.
The problem I am having is that everytime I open the page containing the image map / rollovers I get a pop up bar at the top of my screen indicating that the data or content on the page is potentialy harmeful.
Why is this? When I visit other sites the rollovers work without a problem and no warnings. Why is this only with my image ready created images and scripts? I really do not want my users to have to have this pop up each time as it is a pain and it may scare some users away and it will screw up my links and images apperance if the pop up bar is not set to always allow.

I'm using the Photoshop/Imageready CS remote rollover functionality to set up a part of a website. On this site I have series of photos that the user can select to customize a sign. There are multiple photos going on multiple locations on the sign. Right now, the remote rollovers and all the needed transparency, etc. is working just fine... but I can only "select" one of the rollovers at a time.
So for example: 1.) They select their First picture to go on the sign... they can see it there (all pretty and whatnot). 2.) They try to select their second picture... and that pops up on the sign but the first picture goes away.
I really need them to be able to see how all these different designs will look Together on the sign. They will then be using the website to order online using an HTML form. I have already looked into the Flash option, but if I can do this in Photoshop it will be SO much easier from a file manipulation stand-point (there's going to be lots of iterations on these designs).
Please tell me I'm just missing something really easy! I just need my remote rollovers to "STICK" or "STAY" once they are selected.
Can you do remote rollovers in Image ready 7? I have only found tutorials on doing them in CS and using the web bar. PS 7 does not have this web bar so I am unable to follow the tutorial which says you have to drag the pickwhip icon up to the layer that you want to be your remote rollover area.
i need to make his image into a site.. now i got some ?'s
he is using it for wallpapers, he wants the wallpapers part of the main image on its own layer, so that it is translucent then when you go over it, it will go to full color (no tranparency). do i have to do this as a gif and make it a rollover or something, do i need to make it a seperate image?
how I changed the background on an animated gif, from white to transparent, on all frames, at one time. I did do that using ImageReady, didn't I? I must be having a major senior moment.....
i am trying to make a website with imageready, and i have the animations saved, but it wont let me optimize it (in the box) so then it automatically makes it a jpg, and i cant find a way to get it to a .gif.. because i want the animations.
I just started working with Photoshop and IR CS2 recently, migrating from PS 7. I am working on an image in photoshop and I want to jump to IR to add some rollover buttons. When I jump to IR and preview my work in IE or firefox, or view in the optimized view, it moves my images. It looks the way it should in normal view, but in the show optimized view things are moved. Why does it move the images? It seems in PS7 IR and PS worked more harmoniously. What has changed?
I was working on an image, and I wanted rollovers. I finished those up and went to save it [Save Optimized As...] and realized it was saving the images as .gif files. That's no good; it's a large image that looks terrible in .gif format.
I have been trying for quite some time now to get it to save as a 100% Quality, 0 Blur .jpg, I know I've done it before, and now it isn't working. As far as I can get is 60% [High; I want Maximum].
When I try to import/open an avi file in ImageReady, the import/open window comes up but then another window pops up telling me that quicktime does not have the plugins required to import the file and the plugins are not available on the quicktime server, when i proceed to import/open the image turns blank. I tried updating my quicktime, I updated image ready.
I have been looking but can't seem to find a good tutorial on how I can create a website using Photoshop and Dreamweaver. Anyone know of any good ones? I see talk of using ImageReady...anyone know of a good tutorial on how to do this as well?
I have some text in one animation frame and in another frame it's supposed to move and get smaller. The problem is, when I adjust the size of the text (smaller) in the second frame to tween it later, the text size in the first frame gets smaller as well. I hope I make sense. Is it possible to tween text and make it get smaller in imageready?
i created 3 frames of a pic, but when i edit like the 2nd frame all 3 frames change. how can i get it so i can make each frame individual. and, is there a way to change a lens flare color?
