View 10 Replies View RelatedWhenever I use a tool (select, crop, highlight, resizing an image) in CS6, the image flickers. Not my entire screen, but just the background of CS6 and the image. It flickers like a strobe light and makes it very distracting to try and crop, select, do anything in CS6. It's clearly a CS6 problem and I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling it several times but it continues to flicker.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI purchased and installed the CS2 upgrade to my old (5.0) version of Photoshop. Even though the upgrade was supposed to be for 5.5 and up, Adobe Tech Support walked me through the back door (may have been a regedit change, but I can't remember) to allow the upgrade.
I have bought a new computer, so I de-activated the copy on my old computer, then installed the full version of 5.0 on my new machine and attempted to install the CS2 upgrade.
When I got to the stage where the program advised the upgrade wouldn't work (once again, the upgrade is for 5.5 and up, but this wasn't an issue with Adobe last time) I reached out to Tech Support online, opening up a TSCase.
I have supsequently been bounced around the globe during several calls by a number of Cust Service reps who have advised everything from "CS2 won't work on Vista" to "It's a valid serial number, so use the trial version for a couple of days then call back and we'll unlock it." My last rep said it was a Tech Support problem.
A few minutes ago Tech Support told me my only option was the forums, where an Adobe TS would respond, since there's no more verbal/telephone support for CS2.
I understand time marches on, but would like to keep using CS2. I was walked through the upgrade process before, but now I'm on my own it seems.
I was madly working along, and suddenly, no keyboard shortcuts worked. I wrestled with this for quite some time. Then I realized that I had two layers selected, instead of one. When I selected only one layer, all my keyboard shortcuts returned and began to operate as normal.
I'm just wondering whether this is a feature to protect the user from unwittingly altering more than one layer at a time, or whether it's a bug?
I just upgraded my Win7 64 desktop to Win8 pro 64, and now photoshop cs5 is behaving very strangely. Any mouse click operation causes the entire working window to flicker, and the background to cycle between the normal pale gray background, a window full of transparent pixel rectangles, and solid black.
There doesn't appear to be any update from Adobe available within the help menu, so I think I'm up to date on the software.
Is this a known incompatibility between CS5 and Win8 64? I spent hours searching online before I did the Win8 upgrade looking for compatibility information on photoshop cs5 (and the rest of the cs5 master suite) but found very little information.
The latest Photoshop CC update failed, and Photoshop no longer worked.I uninstalled Photoshop (couldn't deactivate), but now I can't reinstall.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI bought Adobe creative suit 6 design standard yesterday. when using photoshop, the background canvas flickers and becomes transparent when i do things (zoom, erase, brush)
I have followed the solution of changing the drawing mode to Basic, but it is still an issue and is making photoshop unusable.
Using Trial CS6 on Windows8 - the workfield flickers in black. I am not going to continue the trial like this! Frustration with this app that it is so difficult to use. I loved MS Image Composer 1.5!
View 5 Replies View RelatedI transferred all of the fonts starting with 'A' into font book and all of them had either a yellow or red dot next to them. They all worked fine in photoshop CS4. What gives? Will Adobe fix this and make them compatable? I have a fortune invested in fonts I'm not about to toss. What are Adobe and Apple going to do about this?
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhat might be causing a yellow hue to appear on all pics opened/worked in Cs5 full edit? Might it ba a color profile that is not right?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI noticed that the display flickers when going back in history using a script (I'm using Javascript), like so :
var docRef = app.activeDocument;
docRef.activeHistoryState = docRef.historyStates[docRef.historyStates.length-2];
What precisely happens is the document briefly turns to a checker (the same checker that indicates transparency).
It also happens when using "executeAction" with the action recorded by the ScriptListener. But, it only happens when the function is called from within a script, not when I'm using the history panel.
This is a problem because it makes it a lot harder to see what changed between the two history states.i'm using CS6.
When I use the quick selection tool my monitor starts flickering what do I need to change in my set up.

I uninstalled the progran earlier on today and downloaded it again but the problem is still there.
If I have opened a RAW image in PS5.5 and it has several layers already modifying the file, can I convert the bottom layer to a smart object and then use ACR tools like de-fringing, etc.? I notice flaws in the image that would be corrected that way, and I don't want to start from scratch. I am able to make the layer a smart object. I don't know how to invoke the ACR tools.
This image arrived from Lightroom with "no Lightroom effects" chosen at transfer, if that makes any difference.
I have a Mac laptop 0S X 10.8.3. I have been working on the photo in CS6 when I bring it into LR4 it looks much darker. The blacks are blockie. I have a colormunkie calibration software which is out of date. I closed lightroom and went into systems preferences - display - and used the calibration tool to calibrate to gamma 2.2 then reopened LR4 and it looks even darker.

Quick one here.... how do I keep DP7 from opening up the last doc worked on? And would that include choosing the desired doc/template to open when loaded?
View 5 Replies View RelatedUsually when I have worked on a project and close the program, the next time I open my Xara program the previous documents I was working on would load, but not now. I'm having the same problem with XPX and just cannot seem to find what I may hae changed. Having that ability was sometimes a lifesaver.
View 3 Replies View RelatedHere's a strange situation. 3 of my students have had the Pucker and Bloat tools in Liquify tear holes in their images. I mean really pucker so hard that transparent pixels appear at the liquify point. Their tools were set on the defaults -- not overly strong strength or rate.
What gives? All 3 of the culprits were on Windows machines... (Mid 2011 imacs with Windows OS). The students on Mac had no problem.
Oh, also one of the students with the problem was having it so strongly that the Liquify tools were actually creating tiny copies of the whole image *inside* the torn "holes"-- as if the image is being turned inside out!
Edited to add: I've noticed another couple of weird things with those machines having this problem:The Reconstruct tool and Reconstruct button also cause the holes to be torn... but with those tools, the holes are repeated like the run in a nylon.
im working on a PC , with windows 7, with photoshop CS5 i searched everywhere for answer , but none was given.. people did mention this problem, but for different photoshop versions , and, i had it good till i dont know what happened and changed it, so i believe it is fixable but people understood it wrong.
anyhow, the problem is, when you try to maximize the image window (assuming you changed it from tabs), the window maximize all over the screen, over the tools and title bar.
instead of staying inside the workspace.as i mentioned, it used to be like it , but something happened and now its all over the thing.i tried double click the hand tool, all sort of things with the "F" and Tab shortcuts, the arrange documents thing on the top, even trying to restore default setting but nothing really did the trick.
i tried to look for something called "Application frame", that somehow suppose to do just that, under window->Application frame, but its not there. again, it used to be ok so i know there is still hope..
here it is restored, under "fit screen" option, notice it only get the hight right, i would not call it "fit screen" but what ever..
red circels show the title bar and tools..
and this is when i hit the maximize button and unleash hell, red circles are where the title bar and tools were, not so nice and cool..
i noticed none of the others gave pictures, so i gave it a go..there are no words to describe how annoying it is.
all pctures, I have corrected with Gimp 2.8 and exported them in the origin Format (*.JPG) Cannot beshown on my TV by USB.

When I first started using Lightroom, the adjustment brush worked fine. Now, I will select the adjustment brush, click on the photo I'm editing, and a red circle will appear depending on the circumference I chose. If I look at the thumbnail in the navigation sidebar to the left, the red circle appears as a black circle in that photo. In addition, none of the sliders will work with the exception of the exposure adjuster. However, the effects of adjusting the exposure only appear in the thumbnail in the navigation sidebar; the main image will stay red in the area selected.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI need to draw a thin white line across an image, infact several lines in different places. The lines need to be permanent. I want to key in the number of pixels for the the thickness of the line and if possible key in the position of the line. I know I can use a new grid line to position a grid line, but how do I then turn that grid line into a permanent line where I can decide the width and colour? I'm trying to refrain from the long way round of zooming up to 1600% and physically using the rectangular marquee tool then filling the rectangal with colour.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm working on a drawing for a part and am getting annoying flickers from light to dark. What I am seeing happening is that everytime I pan or zoom (in or out) the drawing, the drawing lights up, and remains lit up until I move my mouse cursor over a view. When I do so, the entire drawing turns dark and remains dark until I pan/zoom the drawing again. So I am getting a constant dark - light flicker that I find very distracting.
I am only seeing this in this one drawing, however I do remember having this problem previously. In other drawings I have done, they will either be light (which I correspond to being normal) or the entire drawing will be dark. This I read has to do with the lighting in the source part file, but it never really bothered me.
