View 1 RepliesI used Photoshop Elements 4 for many years and upgraded to 10 about a year ago; I recently downloaded Photoshop CS6 for the trial period. In my projects I regularly use the ready-made frame and border designs that are available in the “content” section of PSE. I thought that a more extensive program like CS6 would offer a larger variety of ready-made frames, but I have been unable to find any at all. (PC, Win7 OS, PS CS6 vers. 13.0 x64)

I think I should probably make the brushes in CS6 to be good for CC and CS6, but thought I'd ask if it's possible to just make them in CC. Would save me having to keep CS6 on my computer.
I'm trying to recreate a bunch of IV-Studio settings to match a bunch of renders made by previous staff that did not leave behind the assembly files they used to make them in the first place.
I've ran into a problem with some parts displaying incorrectly. (they display incorrectly in the render/in the studio environment/ in the assembly/ and when in the part file) I've played with material and appearance styles but they have no effect, I've also tried quality/performance/compatibility hardware modes.
We have 5 or 6 parts that share the ridge pattern that is causing problems and they are affected in the same way.I'm running XP(32), IV2012-sp2, fx1800 with 6.14.0012.6570 drivers.
1. Create a new square document, say 500x500 pixels. Fill the background with black using the paint bucket (G) tool. Whatever size document you choose to create, it must be square for the latter part of the tutorial to work.
2. Make your self a simple design using Lens Flare (Filter>>Render>>Lens Flare) You should have something like below if you used my design.
3. Hit Ctrl + U and change the saturation of the image to -100 (Don't check colourize)
4. Head up to Filter >> Blur >> Radial Blur and use these settings. (Hit ctrl + F to repeat this step)
5. Go to Filter >> Distort >> Twirl and set it to 100. Duplicate the layer, and repeat the twirl with a setting of -200. Set the blending mode of the new layer to lighten, and merge the two. You can stop here, but if you wish to keep going keep reading.
6. It looks a little blurry doesn't it? Never fear, we're going to fix this now. Hit Ctrl + L and enter these settings
7. Duplicate the merged layers, and rotate the new layer 90*CW. Set the blending mode to Colour Burn to get a totally differen't effect. You're done. You can now use Ctrl + U to colorize the new image.
I have created city/landscape artwork using photoshop line and box tools. If you go to URL... then click on the link that says (click here to view Gotham City) you will see one of the images I am talking about. Can this image be made to look the same in vector.

View 2 Replies View RelatedBasically, how are these kinds of sites made? I mean the detail and the overall layout and design looks amazingly painstaking. I can design websites fairly well (or so i think :| ) but nothing close to the amount of detail seen on that site. Are websites like these made by hand from scratch? Photoshop perhaps? A 3D app? or what?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am designing a brochure (for print), on the brochure there is to be images of websites i have created.
Now these web sites are in 72dpi, but i need them to be put on a brochure that is 300dpi.
Will i have to re-create them again to a res of 300dpi, or are there any other tricks i can use with the 72dpi images that will acheive good results.?
I'm a designer for a clothing company and every time I make a design I have to then put that design onto lots of different blank product templates (t-shirts, hoodies, sweatshirts etc) and every colour for every product (pink, blue, red green etc) manually. This can be very time consuming. Is there a way in Photoshop I can get it to automatically add, resize and place the design onto everey product template in every colour in the correct position in Photoshop and automatically save it to a certain location.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have tried a number of different methods however I cannot seem to get rid of this problem. Every time I put together banners or any graphics/designs for that matter, whenever I save them and then display them I always end up with a slight blur. I am trying to get a really crisp finish but can never seem to get it right, please see attached photos .
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have thousands of thumbs in where i would like to improve brightness sharpen etc automatically. I created an action that do it all and save for web in specific folder. But now i get a problem.
Name of thumbs have sizes 40-50 chars. So everything will be alright if photoshop didnt have some limits for save for web filenames, it cut my names to like 16 chars and overwrite all thumbs in gallery in 1 file
When i tried "save as" thumbs weight 3x mroe then initial, even when i tried low quality..
Is it any way to fast improve quality of thumbs that are all in different folders? The best thing would be if program could just overwrite thumb so there would be no problem but I don't know how to do it.
I would like to do it all automatically cause i have many galleries where i would like to change thumbs.
I am interested in grouping and sorting brushes according to size, shape, whatever.
Right now when I add a brush library, they just stack on top of one another.
For example let's say I have a round brush with a 10 diameter, then next to it a round brush with a 20 diameter. If I make a 15, it goes to the bottom of the list, and I have to scroll all around. How can I group them?
I suspect I would have to make my own brush library with my brushes how I want them, then save that and load it?

I have a bunch of images which need to be resized - all to 300x195 px at 300 dpi in .jpeg formatAll the images are of different sizes in their original form. While resizing, there should be no distortion. The scaling needs to be in proportion. While saving the resized, all the images should be saved using the same naming convention. Here's how I am doing it...
1. New Blank document - 300x195px, 300dpi & RGB mode.
2. Drag all the images into the blank document, and middle-align each layer.
3. Resize each layer individually while holding Shift+Alt to do it proportionately.
4. Save each layer seperately as a .jpeg using the naming convention required.

I am looking for a way to create this old TV kind of effect: How I could achieve this?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm having no luck with this. I have a bunch of different pictures that I'd like to use and create a new photo, how do I do that?
In case you're wondering I have a bunch of Fourth of July photos that I'd like to make into a picture of the Statue of Liberty.
In the old Photoshop Album, I could transfer 300 photos (or more/less) at once, hit ctrl-A, then click "Photo Fix" and it would fix all the photos without having to select one at a time and taking forever. Checking to see if Elements does that as well before I buy it.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a number of images (faces) that I want to use for 3D texturing, but to use them, I need to do a few things:
1) open the eyes wider (whenever the subject is squinting);
2) Flatten the lips into a neutral position if smiling or frowning
3) Close the lips so teeth are not showing at all if the subject had mouth open (talking or smiling)
Best ways to do this in Photoshop (CS6) or if I'm better off using a different program. I'd like to keep things as 'photo realistic' as possible, though doesn't really have to be perfect - just don't want jagged edges or cartoon appearance.
When I use the art history brush at a very small size, it acts very weird. As soon as I click in the document, a bunch of snake like things appear all over. Like a bunch of little worms spreading all over the page. I've trashed my prefs, I've reset my tool, I've tried different brushes, I've checked scattering, noise, etc. in my brush settings, I've checked my blend modes, pretty everything I can think of doing, and they are still doing it.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI scanned a bunch of photos onto a single page.
I want to extract each photo out into its own file (as either JPEG or PNG).
Is there a faster way than selecting, creating a new file, pasting, and then saving?
Can I instantly create and save a new file based on the selected image area?
I need to create a background for a piece... but it cant look cartoony or anything, and I dont want any planets. I just want really cool looking stars.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to automate the process of scanning a bunch old public domain magazines. When I try to create an Action to automate the process of the following mouse clicks:
File > Import > WIA Support
Click START button on WIA Support screen
Choose which device I want to use [flatbed scanner] > Click OK
Choose Custom Settings > Click PREVIEW
the Action stops at the very first step above (File > Import > WIA Support).
Maybe Actions aren't the best way to go about automating this entire process. If there is a better way this can be done how do I go about it? I want the macro / Action to stop at the last step above because I often need to adjust the portion of the page that I actually want scanned so I need to do the final step manually (actually scanning the page once I'm satisfied with the preview).

View 5 Replies View Relatedhow can i export my xara t shirt designs so that they can be imported into coreldraw, converted to outlines and mirrored so that the vinyl cutter can cut them?
i have been using xara as my main graphics tool for years, and i enjoy it. however, the person who's cutter i use only knows coreldraw as that is what is preferred with the Roland gx-24 vinyl cutters. i dont want to have to learn coreldraw.
i have loaded my designs as gifs, jpegs and bmps into corel, but even after using the 'trace' feature on corel, all the lines are not perfect like they are in xara. the cutter cuts the lines in a jagged way, and the curves are not smooth. save my xara designs as .cmx or .svg. i did that and tried importing into corel and i got an 'I/O Error', so that didnt work.
the only way i can get the straight cut lines is if i load my fonts into corel, and re-create my design in corel, which i just dont have the time for.
