Apr 17, 2006I lost my program [C] drive and am in the process of reloading everything including CS2 and Bridge. I can't remember or find where I cause the fle names to show under the thumbnails. I hope some body out there has a better memory than me.

Sep 23, 2012I am using Mac Book Pro / 10.8.2 and Illustrator CS6, what I noticed is when I export my files to PDF, the thumbnails only show in B&W colors and this only happens when I am using Pantone colors. If I use colors randomly from swatch or just type Pantone in CMYK, it still shows color but that bugs me still. I did a test on my old Imac which is 10.7.3 and using CS5.5 but didn't have same issue. I am wonder if this happen to everyone or just certain CS version or so.

May 15, 2012Is there a way to show more than just one thumbnail from a given clip when inserted into the video track? Currently in VS X4 I get just a thumbnail at the start of the clip and a blue bar after that. In Microsoft Movie Maker by comparison you get thumbnail after thumbnail from the various frames within the clip, I also see in one of Trevor's tutorials (bottom of the page) URL.... there's thumbnails galore but he may be using images rather than a video clip.

Jun 25, 2013We are using AutoCAD Architecture 2013 on machines running Windows 7. When multiple AutoCAD drawings are open on most machines in the office the icon in the Windows Toolbar shows multiple stacked AutoCAD images, and when you hover over those icons, all of the open drawings appear in thumbnail across the bottom. (This is a very nice feature!)
Unfortunately one machine in the office is not doing that with AutoCAD. That machine will show multiple icons and thumbnail previews for PDFs, Word files, etc., but not AutoCAD. Is there a setting that can be changed to make the thumbnail drawings for ALL open drawings appear when hovering over the icon in the Windows Toolbar? (That computer will show a thumbnail preview of the active drawing, but not all open drawings.)
Photoshop :: Opening Images - Window Is Not Big Enough To Show It All?
Nov 8, 2013When I open a picture in photoshop, the window is not big enough to show it all. When I drag it to my retina monitor on my laptop, it scales down. Why can't adobe figure this stuff out? It used to be that your image would open as large as possible on your monitor, and would show the entire image.
If it was larger than your monitor could display, it would scale it to 66.7% or 25% etc so it would fit. I liked that better than this way - now you just see the top corner of your image and have to drag the window larger to see it.

This is very annoying because if I'm looking for a specific .psd file I have to look on my picture viewing software, find out what the file name is and then pull it up on photoshop. I have CS3 and I have no problem seeing the picture.

Jul 30, 2012I would like photoshop to show a file image for the thumbnail (instead the generic lines of type). I know in the pref box I can set the "Maximize File compatibility" to "Always" or Ask, and this will save a flattened version of the file as part of the document. But this greatly increased the file size. I did some checking on 10 layered files ranging from 14Mb to 45Mb. The new file size increased a whopping 35% to 88%. That's a heavy price to pay both on my system here, our back up / archive, CD / DVD burning, and our client systems. I'm in the process of putting together a browser based image library. To render a image thumbnail it shows the generic lines of type if layered (useless), and a image thumbnail only if "File compatibility" is set to Yes. ( Which greatly increases file size, and cost of storage space).
Is there a way to get a image thumbnail without having to set Maximize File Compatibility to Yes? It would seem to me that photoshop should be able to create a small, low res flattened version, at a low quality setting, that would be on the kb in size for a thumbnail. And imbed that into the file, vs the bloated composite. I understand the reason for the composite for file compatibailty with previous versions etc. Just not for creating the thumbnail.

Jul 7, 2013When in Photoshop CC I then go to file / open, my machine won't display preview thumbnails for each of my image files (.jpg, .gif, .png, .psd etc) and all I see is the blue Photoshop icon for each of these files, I have also tried changing the view options on the folder and change to medium, large and extra large thumbnails but again they all just display the Photoshop CC blue icon.
When I run Photoshop CS5 on this exact same machine it shows them! Is there a setting I need to change in Photoshop CC to get this to work, or is Adobe trying to get us to use bridge or?
I am running Windows 7.

Aug 7, 2011trying recover anything i can from a corrupted PSD file. What happened was I saved my work and closed photoshop and hit the reset button on my PC afterwards by mistake (i dont see why this caused a problem because the program was fully closed at the time). When I open the file now it says it uses an unsupported blending mode, if i press ok I get an error saying incompatible PS version, if I press flatten it says unexpected end of file was encountered. Ive tried PSD repair tools and searched the net for solutions and there doesn't seem to be any.
The thing is, the thumbnail of the file seems to be intact because I can still see it as the file icon. I wanted to know if there was any way i can access this thumbnail image so i can enlarge it.
Photoshop :: Recover Corrupted PSD File Where Thumbnail Displays
Feb 11, 2013I have a PSD file that became corrupted when the power went out in the house while in the middle of saving the the file.The PSD file itself is corrupted.
When I load it it says "Could not complete your request because an unexpected end-of-file was encountered." I have tried all sorts of PDS recovering programs and none could get the file recovered except for a BRIGHT BLUE/GREEN BACKGROUND.
When I load up photoshop 5.0 and go to select the corrupted psd file, there thumbnail DOES show up perfectly fine. However I cannot remotely see it in details because it's TINY.. Like 1/16" x 3" high.
Is there ANYWAY.. with ANY PROGRAM that will actually extract that thumbnail? All the ones I've tried online or downloaded extracts the thumbnail as just one BRIGHT BLUE/GREEN BACKGROUND.
I'd like to extract the thumbnail and have it LARGER so I can actually VIEW the contents.

I am using Video Studio X4 with Service Packs 1 and 2 installed running on Windows XP Home, SP 2 with all updates installed and DirectX 9.0. The scene changes work fine when I Preview them but they are not saved when I close the Create Disk sub-menu. When I return to the “Menu and Preview” section of the Create Disk sub-menu, the Main Menu scene change is present as is the Chapter 1 scene change but the other chapter scene changes are gone. What can I do to correct this?

Jul 5, 2011on WinXp and i think Max 8, you used to be able to see a max file as a thumbnail in windows. This meant if you wanted to merge a character, for instance, you didn't have to click though 50 files whilst looking at the preview window, you just viewed the folder by thumbnail and quickly grabbed the right file.
After going to max 9 (again, not too sure on versions) and vista we lost that ability, I posted around at the time but found no solutions.
So, I'm on windows 7 64 bit now and Max 2011 and was curious if this feature was ever fixed or even addressed/dismissed formally by Autodesk?
