Just downloaded Elements 12 (and uninstalled Elements 7), so just starting to figure it out. Main interface is a bit different. Got 2 issues:
Where is the 'Display' button that loads the full file for viewing (not an enlarged thumbnail)? Used to be at top right in version 7.
When I try to run a slide show the program shuts down; pretty serious issue.
how do display the filename UNDER each thumbnail in the Elements 12 Organizer and NOT just on the right side of the screen? I see the date and rating under each thumbnail, but not the filename.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIn previous versions of elements, when I exited an image full screen mode, I was returned to that same image in thumbnail. In elements 11, I'm returned to the beginning of the folder in which the image is stored. Is there any way to return to the thumbnail I started with when I went to full screen?

I know that I can see the file name in the properties tags but when naming new pictures it would be easier to see what pictures still need correct name the other way,under each thumbnail.

Is there a way to set Windows Explorer viewing options so that when viewing files in Windows Explorer in the "Thumbnail view", you see the thumbnail of the PSD file rather than the generic/default PSD icon?

View 22 Replies View Relatedmy camera (Canon S95) has a sensor with 4:3 aspect ratio and thus saves all RAW files in this format. Additionally, the camera can automatically create JPGs with a cropped ratio (e.g. 3:2 or 16:9). This is very useful because you can see the target format already on the camera screen (with black bars on top and bottom), which facilitates the composition. However, when processing the photos on the big screen afterwards, it often also facilitates the photo to adjust the ratio a little bit and therefore use the additional information saved in the bigger 4:3 RAW file. This works very well with many of the freely available software tools.
The problem found in Lightroom is now that it only shows the RAW photo in the cropped format and up to know I have found no way to display or use the full RAW format. So my question is: Which settings do I have to change to use the full format? What do I need to change?
Photoshop Elements 12 will not display photos in Organizer in full screen mode. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the application but it still doesn't work.

I've downloaded thumbnail handler from Bot Productions, but when I try to install it, Win7 tells me " this installation package is for Windows XP or newer, x64 edition. Go to the product's web site and look for a version for your operating system."
Same thing happens if I try the 32 bit version .
Downloaded Gimp last night, and when I opened up to view the images, I see only a list, not thumbnails. Gotta have thumbnails to see what exactly I'm looking at, regardless whether the images are named or numbered. don't Gimp have that option to change the viewing mode, like Windows?

In Photoshop Elements 8 i want to see the file names under the pictures when viewing thumbnails not just the date. Is this possible?

My question is with regards to how the graphics will be displayed on a Retina display that has 326 pixels per inch. My understanding has always been that you design graphics based on 72ppi for web.
1. If I wanted to create graphics knowing that all of my users would have Retina displays, would I setup my .PSD files at 326ppi?
2. Will graphics and websites designed at 72ppi appear really small on a Retina display?.
We like to show thumbnails of a drawing in a picturebox in a .Net control. It works but the background of Thumbnail is always white even if the real layout background is black. Also it only showing a partial view rather than the view state while last saved.. This makes the user in exactly identifying the drawing in the picture box.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am exporting animated gifts out of Photoshop and wondering why there is a discrepancy in the display speed of the animated gifts when viewing on an i pad compared to on the desktop.
Specifically the i pad displays the gift quite a bit slower than in the desktop. so something that views on the desktop in normal speed is slower than desired on the ipad and something at the desired speed on the i pad is super fast on the desktop.
I can't figure out how to adjust the size of the program screen when in Full Edit Mode. I can see portions of the Quick Fix menu and none of the Guided Fix menu. There seems to be no way to resize the window.

I search the hardrive for pse10db or any other catalogue files but find nothing. Where the heck is PSE11 locating the catalogue?

View 1 Replies View RelatedIn Lightroom 3.6. I am having difficulty with the photo date in the thumbnail. I had a series of pictures with incorrect dates in the metadata and I used Microsoft Photo Pro to correct the dates. The metadata is correct in the file and shows up correctly in the Metadata group of the right side panel, but some of the thumbnails show the date of the changed information rather than the Date Created. When I told it to "Read Metadata from disk", only the first file shows up correctly in the thumbnail. The others show today's date, which was the date that I made the changes to the files.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a .psd file that was created by someone else for my friends web page. The psd file is the background, logo, and navigational bar for her home page. Each button is a "slice" I think because there are lines around each button on the left side navigational bar (not a true navigational bar just created by buttons) and around the head and body etc. (The lines are blue if that tells you anything - each section is numbered with a little tiny icon that looks a little like the back of an envelope.)
My question - we wanted to change the word on one of the buttons - I did that saved the psd file - no problem. Then I cropped out the button that we had changed. When I saved it to the web (as a jpg) the button looks like a button (a box around it - not a line a raised area that looks like a button.) The other buttons do NOT look like a button (even though the layers are named buttons.)
How can I change it so it looks flat (not button like) like all of the rest of the items on the navigational bar.
Is there a way to have the thumbnail display on the bottom of the Organizer screen use a vertical scroll bar on the far right instead of the horizontal scroll bar below? Or, can I enlarge the size of the thumbnail display area without enlarging the size of the thumbnails? (Which means, I suppose, being able to specify what size I want the thumbnails displayed.)

But the text is almost illegible in the title bar. The title bar is black, the text is black with some cloudy grey background. It is impossible to read. I can't seem to find anyplace to change it's appearance either.
