Downloaded Gimp last night, and when I opened up to view the images, I see only a list, not thumbnails. Gotta have thumbnails to see what exactly I'm looking at, regardless whether the images are named or numbered. don't Gimp have that option to change the viewing mode, like Windows?
I have Windows 7 (64 bit).
After uploading images from a card reader to LR 4.1 and 4.2, the option to review large images is present for the first 10-20 photo, then LR preview will only display a small image (the size of a thumbnail.). I can uplaod all the images from preview to the LR catalog. But then I have to go into the catalog and delete unwanted images.

When returning to the IDW and re-creating the BOM list the thumbnail the image does not update. Why does the BOM list not automatically update the thumbnail images on the IDW ?
I was just choosing a JPG to open in the gimp Open Image dialog andwhen I clicked on the image to open, I think the preview thumbnail wasof the same image in an uncropped and unprocessed form. Does gimp usesome type of embedded thumbnail as a preview image?

My gimp opens all images in small thumbnail size (160 120). How can I get rid of this and get the files opened in their original size. I am running ubuntu 11.04 and gimp 2.6.11, and utilizing .NEF (nikon raw)
I have tried to remove $HOME/.gimp-2.6 - that didn't seem to work. I have installed and uninstalled ufraw - that didn't seem to work I have looked at gimp preferences, don't see there anything which would define reading in images into "thumbnail" size.
I am suspecting that after installing ufraw this problem appeared and I seem not be able to get rid of it. Removing $HOME/.ufrawrc didn't useful.
Running Win7 HP 64 bit, PSPX4 SP1- cannot view psp thumbnails in windows explorer. I've downloaded thumbnail handler from Bot Productions, but when I try to install it, Win7 tells me " this installation package is for Windows XP or newer, x64 edition. Go to the product's web site and look for a version for your operating system."
Same thing happens if I try the 32 bit version .
Is there a way to set Windows Explorer viewing options so that when viewing files in Windows Explorer in the "Thumbnail view", you see the thumbnail of the PSD file rather than the generic/default PSD icon?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have been using Photoshop CS2 for many years and have constantly "lived with" a bug in Bridge whereby, instead of an image thumbnail, there is just an icon shown.
This is the same icon that appears before Bridge has read all the images to produce the thumbnails - but some of them get "stuck" and there seems to be no way to make Bridge "read" the image and produce the thumbnail. Pressing "View" "Refresh" (or PF5) does not work. Is there any fix I can download for this?
how do display the filename UNDER each thumbnail in the Elements 12 Organizer and NOT just on the right side of the screen? I see the date and rating under each thumbnail, but not the filename.

Where is the 'Display' button that loads the full file for viewing (not an enlarged thumbnail)? Used to be at top right in version 7.
When I try to run a slide show the program shuts down; pretty serious issue.
I recently upgraded from CS5 to the latest version and I'm having trouble adjusting. One of the smallest but most usable features of previous versions of photoshop has been that when I go to File > open and browse to one of my thousands of image folders Photoshop will display a small thumbnail of whichever image I have selected.
This is essential so that I can tell which images I need rather than by file name which is useless.I'm probably just being thick and just need to find where to switch on the thumbnail preview.
Any way to save the drawing and not lose the thumbnail preview.

I was successful in entering the text, and when I try to print, the print preview shows a template full of text. However, when the page prints, only some of the text is there! The text that prints doesn't even seem to correspond with the layers. I tried to save the file as another type of image to print it (all text shows then with no problem), but it is not a very sharp image. I have searched the manual, but am not finding an answer. I'm using Vista and when I switch to view as thumbnails, the psd file seems showing [ps] icons.
These gives problem when I want to search any older psd files I did last month or beyond. I must open all those files one by one just for looking a file. It wastin my time...
When saving the file; there's a 'thumbnail' check box, but what it means?

Being an architectural photographer I create a lot of layered files with many exposures with different lights on and daylight separately. I always save my layered files in a folder called Layered files in the project. I also save flattened 8 bit Tif's at full resolution for my client as a print file in a separate folder along with another folder for web and device optimized files. When my client opens some of my flattened files they tell me the only see one layer. When I open some of them in Preview I get the same result. I only see the last layer I put into my layered file. But when I open the same photo in Bridge I see the full flattened file as I saved it. What can I do about that?

We have a problem with long (like 10 minute) saves.
If we go to Tools / Options / Open and Save / Thumbnail Preview Settings, in the "Sheets and Views" panel, the "Performance-Accuracy Slider" is set all the way to the right, which the Information Panel lists as "Update thumbnails when saving drawing".
If we manually slide it to the center, listed in the Information Panel as "Update thumbnails when accessed", the Save times become less than a minute.
This setting is not saved and we need to reset it each time each drawing is opened.
There has to be a setting because MY STATION did not have this problem with ANY drawing until our Supplier's Support Team got onto my computer yesterday. NOW it's a problem on my computer also.
Setting the UPDATETHUMBNAIL to "0" works, but then we have no Previews.
Setting the UPDATETHUMBNAIL to "1" does not work.
jump from photoshop 7.0 to CS2.0, and I've noticed one vital feature missing/not working for me. When I use the thumbnails mode in Windows, there is no preview!

When using the WBLOCK command, no thumbnail preview is being saved with the block for previewing in Windows Explorer. I have check the RASTERPREVIEW system variable is set to 1, but this makes no difference.
When saving files normally I do not have a problem.
I'm having a problem to the viewing panel that cant preview dual view when I switch to Src-Seq.

I just modified the below code to remove the vb6 support. I am using VS 2012 and Inventor 2014. The end result on the word report thumb nail for some parts are not visible. It goes to the error code and putting the text instead of thumb nail. At the same time Brian’s code as it is (used the exe file to install it) works fine on the same parts list with all thumb nail.

So I have photoshop CS5, when I go and open a image and select it, in the preview thumbnail it shows the orignal file, without the edits but when I open the file it shows the cropped version. Is there any way I can get the original since it's showing in the thumbnail preview??

What happened was I saved my work and closed photoshop and hit the reset button on my PC afterwards by mistake (i dont see why this caused a problem because the program was fully closed at the time). When I open the file now it says it uses an unsupported blending mode, if i press ok I get an error saying incompatible PS version, if I press flatten it says unexpected end of file was encountered. Ive tried PSD repair tools and searched the net for solutions and there doesn't seem to be any.
The thing is, the thumbnail of the file seems to be intact because I can still see it as the file icon. I wanted to know if there was any way i can access this thumbnail image so i can enlarge it.
Problems with seeing the jpg icon previews? The cdr icons preview just fine.
I have 3 computers and it's doing the same thing on all 3. I'm using WIN7 64bit, Vista Ultimate 32bit, and CorelDraw X4. I have all of the Windows and CorelDraw updates installed and I've even uninstalled and reinstalled multiple tines.

View 9 Replies View RelatedThe thumbnail view is not working for .xar files in Vista Home Premium. I got a new system that totally rocks and Vista is now my default OS, XP is put to bed. It's a 64 bit system, not sure if that makes any difference. I don't think it would.
Oh and it's a quad core system, 9 series nVidia graphics card with 8 gigs of DDR2 RAM and with a 64 bit system I see all 8 gigs. WOOT! Renders that used to take 10 hours are done in under 2. NICE!
Anyway. I really would love to know if this is a known bug in X Pro or if there is a fix or something I need to do to enable a thumbnail preview in the folders?
