I took a screenshot of an image I'm trying to replicate in Photoshop.
It's a simple right facing, filled arrow, encampassed in a circle. There's a perfect drop shadow/gradient effect going on to add a 3d effect. I'd like that on a transparent background if possible.
Is there a way to have a dynamic arc block? I want to replicate the edit ability of a simple 3-point arc, where I can change the endpoint positions, arc length, and the midpoint which will change the radius/direction.

I select custom shapes, then arrows, then I mouse-drag out the arrow, and, of course, they disappear when saved. So...now realizing that this is a path, I duplicate my first layer and place the arrows on the new layer. then I flatten. Still, arrows disappear.

I think we keep on without an annotation symbol to label the x,y and/or Z of a point ? Have I to develop our symbol ? I'm going to create my own symbol. Using attributes & dynamic behaviours I can do it.
how to get my arrow rotates  (I move the box and I have - the arrow aligned with line1 and line 2 horizontal).I don't want to use parametrics, because I want to have a symbol compatible with versions prior to 2010.
Now with PSP it was very easy to take a screen shot and highlight a button or area on the image by drawing a hollow circle or oval and set the border color and width.

I'm an absolute beginner, and cannot find a simple pointer in GIMP. By simple pointer I mean an arrow to select an object, similar to the pointer in Inkscape. What am I missing?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm running Adobe Photoshop 7.0 in Windows 7 Virtual XP mode, since the program won't run in Win7 64-bit mode. It used to run fine in 32-bit mode. It runs OK in the virtual XP mode, but I find that the circle tool in the painting or clone stamp functions always has an arrowhead in the center of the circle. It never used to, just the circle for painting or cloning. How do I get rid of it? Changing the settings in the Preferences menu does not work. Also, the virtual mode doesn't seem to allow updating program files, although it updates XP files. I tried to download a Photoshop update file. There was a prompt asking where it should go. But when I selected a place, and clicked OK, the Next button did not come on.Â

View 7 Replies View RelatedI created a simple symbol from a circle with a cross inside (two rectangles). The symbol has two states labelled "normal" and "over" in which background colors change : on mousover and mouseout on the circle, sym.stop("over"); and sym.stop("normal"); respectively.

The problem : "over" when the cursor hovers over the circle, but back to "normal" when it hovers over the cross. The API suggests to use mouseenter and mouseleave to avoid child elements of the symbol interrupt the mouse event. I tried it, but the behavior is the same.

Illustrator keeps freezing when applying an effect such as texture-grain to a simple gradient, or even rasterizing a simple black circle. My system is about a 6month old macbook pro with 16gb ram, i7 and AMD Radeon HD 6770M 1024 MB. What could be causing this? It wasn't like this when i first started using the laptop but has started to do it everytime i try and do any of those simple tasks recently.

I want to fill the inside of this white, how do I do that?
When I make a selection in a picture, the selection dotted line shows a coloured border, which is the colour of the second choice in the Materials palette. Especially if I make an addition to the selection, this coloured line runs right through the selected figure. If I copy the selection, undo the selection and then paste as a new layer, the coloured border, especially in added areas, remains visible.

I'm working on a drawing of a jobsite. The jobsite has multiple buildings surrounded by water wells. Each well has a unique ID, ie MW-7. In model space everything is drawn at a 1:1 scale. The jobsite is quite large, and in layout view my scale is set to 1"=100'. Everything looks visually pleasing, text size, block sizes (symbol for the well location, etc.). However, I need to create a new layout that zooms into a particular portion of the site. I need my scale to be roughly 1"=50'.
My question is this: How can I set my drawing so that when I zoom into the area of interest, the block symbols and the well IDs stay the same size and don't crowd up the entire page? Otherwise my well IDs are huge! I think it might have something to do with annotative scaling, but I can't get it to work properly. This drawing is being done in AutoCAD 2012
I am using Xara's Photo & Graphic Designer for the first time and slowly getting acclimated to the program after using Ulead's Photo Impact for 6 years.
Just one really basic question. I have three elements in my final design: two seperate lines of text surrounded by a black outline. To save this as a single graphic (.gif format), what do I need to do? With Ulead all I had to do was select all, right click and select merge as one, then simply save in whatever format I wanted to the destination of my choosing.
Is there a similar "merge as one" command in Xara or do I select each element in my graphic, then choose save from the file menu?

I scanned a photo I have of an Elvis impersonator and made this image, but I need to have the image at 300 dpi instead of the 72 dpi that I originally saved. So, I rescanned the image at the desired resolution and size, but I can't seem to remember how I got it to look like this.

View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen I select text in photoshop cs4, it seems to invert just the luminance (forgive me if my terminology is incorrect). That is to say, it doesn't change the color of stuff in the background, but it does invert whether it's light or dark. I've added an example to this post, the top text is selected and the bottom is not. I like the way the top selection looks and frequently would like to be able to do exactly this, and apply it to whole images. What's happening when you select text, is there a specific name for this effect, and how can I replicate it?
