Is there a way to have a dynamic arc block? I want to replicate the edit ability of a simple 3-point arc, where I can change the endpoint positions, arc length, and the midpoint which will change the radius/direction.

It's a simple right facing, filled arrow, encampassed in a circle. There's a perfect drop shadow/gradient effect going on to add a 3d effect. I'd like that on a transparent background if possible.
I've tried to set a simple point in model space. I typed PO - enter - typed a pair of coords into the 2 boxes, and then enter. No point was created.

Its not my computer, or the space on my computer or my video drives. I was going to uninstall then re-install but I am scared because I have the CD but not my serial number.
View 8 Replies View RelatedAutoCAD 2013 point clouds can have a 3D bounding box displayed, and you can grab the grips to edit the box, x, y and z. It's a nice feature.
Using vb.net, will I be able to programmatically move those bounding box points?
I'm seeing weird behavior in C3D 2011 that I never saw in previous versions.Sometimes when I select a Cogo Point and attempt to edit the Raw Description from the Properties window, C3D changes the description to all lower-case letters, and it will not let me key in any upper-case letters. If I select the point -> Edit Points, I can edit the description in Panorama without problems. It's only in the Properties window that it refuses to accept anything other than uppercase letters.
This issue only happens sometimes. Sometimes, I'm able to edit descriptions from the Properties window with no problem. Other times, C3D changes the existing description to all lowercase letters, and refuses to allow me to enter anything but lowercase letters.what causes it, and ideally some way to get C3D 2011 to stop behaving like this?
Is there a way to edit the point descriptions in the drawing and update my auto line work to match it. I can edit the point description fine, but my auto line work will not update?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to create a scene in IV Studio using point lights. If I want to change the position of the light's target, IV won't let me.
The option is simply not available. Not in the dialog (see attached image) an not in the graphics region (clicking the glyph's).
According to the help text, it should be possible (see attached image). The problem persist in both normal lighting styles as in local lights.
I know this. Â I am aware. Â This is why I avoid changing the reference point as much as possible if I have profile views or anything else dependent on my alignment. Â I also have no problem with this dialog giving me a useful reminder.
My problem is this: if I want to make my alignment longer, and I grab the grip at the end of it and drag it to a new location, the reference point moves too!  Who in their right mind would want the reference point to move when adjusting the end? Personally  I wouldn't want C3D to ever move my reference point automatically.  I can have some sympathy with moving it if I am grip-editing the start of the alignment, or the tangent on which the reference point resides.  But I'm editing at the end of the alignment, on a different tangent.  Why would you move my reference point and make me have to go back and reset it to where it was?  How dare you throw your warning message at me for moving the reference point back to where it should be when you secretly moved it to a wrong location with no warning whatsoever?
In LDDT, I was able to create points and manually assign a point number. Â
I know in Civil 3D 2013, i can assign a point number also by changing a toggle under Point Creation Tools to False.
My problem is that everytime I close out of that box and get back in, it reverts the toggle back to TRUE so I have to keep changing it back to False as well as the Next Point Number. In the above example, the Next Point Number should be 1147 (which is after my manually created point 1146) but it keeps going back to 33 which is the next available number after #1.
Illustrator keeps freezing when applying an effect such as texture-grain to a simple gradient, or even rasterizing a simple black circle. My system is about a 6month old macbook pro with 16gb ram, i7 and AMD Radeon HD 6770M 1024 MB. What could be causing this? It wasn't like this when i first started using the laptop but has started to do it everytime i try and do any of those simple tasks recently.
View 5 Replies View RelatedAfter creating an extrusion, we selected the object sometime later, but are not able to edit the vanishing point coordinates for the extruded object. Is there a reason we cannot edit this object?
Vanishing point coordinate boxes, on toolbar, are grayed and unavailable.
Anchor for vanishing point on drawing screen is an outline and unavailable.
Object is marked as editable, so editing is not blocked.
Selecting the original text or extruded subgroup object makes no difference.
Extrusion gradient colors are not showing on the extrusion walls.
Have varied the 'Extrusion Type', but the types are hard to discern and don't make a difference in the editability of the object.
I drew a part that has a 1/4" male npt on it. How do i replicate the npt in inventor. Its not a hole so i have tried that, is there an external thread generator other then "thread" ?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have added 9pt vector text in multiple places of an image. Now I realize it should have been 8pt. I can add new text as 8pt but cant figure out how to change the point size of vector text that is already on the image. If I select a vector text object and then change the point size on the "Size" drop down menu at the top nothing happens. If I right click the vector object and select Edit Text I can change the actual text but not the font or its size. If I right-click the vector object and select Properties I can change stroke, fill, line style etc but this window does not include font or size. How do I change the font and point size for existing vector text objects?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI opened up my AutoCAD LT 2010 this morning at work and went to work on an existing file only to notice I have lost the ability to type in measurements. Meaning, when I go to draw a line I don't have that option to just type in 2.00 or whatever measurement I need. Same with drawing a rectangle or fillet; the down arrow prompt has dissappeared and I no longer can specify length by width (or radius/dia with fillet). Did I accidently hit something to cause this to dissappear?

Just before this happened, I had blown up a drawing by, apparently, importing one too many iges files. Got a message that Autocad had an error and was shutting down. Now, when I hit file/open, I get nothing but the command line asking me to enter the drawing path.
View 5 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to use iLogic to replicate the old-school method of replacing drawing references? (ie, where you'd temporarily rename the originally referenced file, open the drawing, and then point it to the new file after Inventor says it can't find the original)
Longer version:
I have an iLogic configurator that manipulates skeletal models, copies them out as new files, and swaps them into template drawings. The original skeletal model can be configured in several different ways (different features, surfaces, etc), so I have several template drawings set up for each model depending on the configuration.
The problem that I'm encountering involves the order in which the drawing is loaded and then has its references replaced. When first opened, the drawing loads the original skeletal model which doesn't have all the geometry of the "new" model for which the particular template drawing was intended. This makes most of my section and detail view constraints go belly-up. After subsequently replacing the model references with the "new" model with the correct geometry, the section and detail view constraints fail to resolve themselves, and my once-perfect detail drawing is ruined.
If I instead force the drawing to open with the new model from the git-go (via the workaround discussed above), everything loads perfectly. However, I haven't yet found a way to handle this automatically with iLogic.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI only just got photoshop yesterday and I barely know a thing but I have got an image with 3 layers and I want to make it into a simple animation, displaying each layer in turn.
I am a novice user using C2
I used to be able to hatch most anything without problem. Now with Civil 3d 2011 anything more complex that a box or a circle AutoCAD will not find the boundary even when the quick preview seems to find a boundary.
I've tried overlapping the lines and then trimming. I've tried extending to the other lines. I've tried setting the tolerance to 1/2". I've checked that the lines are snapped to endpoints and meet cleanly.
In testing I've found that sometimes it will find the boundary, and other times it will not even when nothing has changed? Noticing that they have to try multiple times and methods to get C3D 2011 to hatch correctly?
The attached file shows the different results (boundaries extracted from successful hatches) that I'm seeing, and sometimes can't find a boundary at all, sometimes it does. Seems to get different results when I regent and at different zooms (not sure if that's the correct terminology?).
I watched the cul-de-sac placewhere and I seem to missing some functionality shown. Specifically the ability to link a transition lane to an alignment and profile via corridor properties>logical name>no width shown as the placewhere shows?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI am trying to utilize Trimble's ability to export Points to an XML file.  The XML file contains some additional Attribute data. I have created the new Point UDP's and also Created a new Point File Format. Here lies the Problem, when I go to the Insert Tab in the Ribbon and pick import from XML. It gives me no choices to select a Point File Format? It just imports the file with just PNEZD data only, and not my additional Attributes.Â

View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen I select text in photoshop cs4, it seems to invert just the luminance (forgive me if my terminology is incorrect). That is to say, it doesn't change the color of stuff in the background, but it does invert whether it's light or dark. I've added an example to this post, the top text is selected and the bottom is not. I like the way the top selection looks and frequently would like to be able to do exactly this, and apply it to whole images. What's happening when you select text, is there a specific name for this effect, and how can I replicate it?
