Photoshop :: How To Install Adobe When Laptop Doesn't Have CD Drive
Aug 7, 2013
I have a Lenovo Ultra book Think pad (X1 Carbon) which does not have a CD drive. How can I install my copy of Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 which I have on CD-rom?
I am not changing anything in my system. I am using windows 7 and will continue to. No change in elements version (10). how to move my pictures from my computer hard drive to an external hard drive (this will NOT be a back up) but the primary locaton for my pictures. I will keep elements program on my computer and when I want to work on my pictures or download more pictures from my camera I will connect to the external hard drive.Â
I've recently rebuilt my laptop (XP SP2, compaq 6910p) and cannot install Photoshop 7.The CD loads to the point where I choose which feature I want (reader or photoshop), then it just stops. It's not the CD, because it installs fine in other machines. I cannot run the install from either my desktop locally or from a CD drive of a working machine.
I am currently running CS3 on a laptop that will soon be replaced. I know that I have to de-activate CS3 on the old laptop, before I can install CS3 on the new laptop. (Note: New laptop is an ASUS G71G-Q2) Once CS3 is installed I will then run the upgrade disk for CS4. What I'm trying to figure out is this: BEFORE I install the CS4 upgrade, do I need to install all the updates/fixes to CS3 to insure "trouble free" operation of CS4? or does installing the CS3 updates play no role in CS4 as they are like two different app's? I would assume that whatever responce I get here about CS3 and CS4 would also apply to Lightroom 1.4 and Lightroom 2.3 regarding updates.Â
I bought the hard-copy, CD version of Photoshop CS6 and I want to install it on to my laptop, however I have no CD input/player on/in my laptop. How can I install this? Is there anyway online?
I did upgrade from Photoshop cs4 to cs5 few years ago by buying an upgrade CD..now my hard drive crashed and i lost my Photoshop cs5..  serial number is available but i don't have the cs5 upgrade cd.  how can i get the Photoshop cs5 on my laptop?
Don't bother checking the specs on my profile, as this post is about another computer.I just have two questions for now to try and minimize time to correct the problem.
Question 1: Can the VSPro X2 Windows 7 compatibility patch be installed before installing the program?
Question 2: Should compatibility mode be tried before installing a compatibility patch? Or should the compatibility patch be installed first?
Background: I have Service Pack 1 and have already downloaded the VS Pro X2 compatibility patch for Windows 7 (UVS125_Win7_Patch.exe [URL]
I bought VSP X2 a couple of years ago for daughter( living in another location) using Win XP at the time. Now she has Windows 7 notebook, and when she tries to install VSP X2 she gets an error something like this: "application incorrect...xstrace.exe" (I am in process of trying to get exact error message) Device information: Will get if needed.Program version: VSPro X2Patches/updates that have been installed. Daughter has SP1 but not installed yet because she cannot install the main program. As noted above I have downloaded and sent her the Windows 7 compatibility patch, but need to know if she can install it before installing the program.
I have many photos on my laptop and have a catalog set up through Lightroom 3.5. I decided the best way to store the photos is to keep them on an external hard drive so that I may work on them easily from any computer on my network. (laptop is frequently shut off)  Is there a way to maintain /import/export/ edit the current catalog so that it works with the photos on the external drive? I would really hate to have to do the catalog with all the keywords all over again.
I use an external hard drive for my Lightroom images. When I travel I take that external (plus a second identical one for back-up) with me and use my laptop. When I return home, I use that external to view and edit my images on my desktop. Suddenly about 350 images show up as missing or offline when I view that external drive on my desktop. Nothing is seen as offline or missing. What can have happened? I use the same external, the same catalog and do not understand why the images are seen only on one computer and not the other. I am an Apple user but can't see what difference that would make.
My laptop died. I have photos in LR that I didn't export. I have the hard drive from the crashed laptop connected to another computer. Where are the photos located in that hard drive?
I am having problems with palettes disappearing and going blank and image windows going completely white. So, I have decided to do a fresh installation of CS3.
I have uninstalled both CS2 and CS3 and I want to re-install just CS3.
However, when I insert the CD in the drive nothing happens on the screen. If I browse to the drive, it asks me to insert a CD! ;-(
The drive detects the CS2 no problem as well as any other CD I insert, but not the CS3 CD.
I have a new mac book pro without a disc drive. I need to install CS4. Adobe support suggested I simply transfer the installed programs via a USB to the new computer but this does not work. when I try to use the programs it says "fatal error - missing component". I have the original install discs, but no way to put them into my new computer.
What is Adobe Drive CS4 and how can I remove it. It gets in the way of a number of keyboard shortcuts I have made over the years and I have no idea what it is or why I want it, so I would like to uninstall it but cannot find anything on it anywhere.
[URL]........ Â That website doesn't work. I have the CS6 web & design premium, I had installed it into my last mac book that had a disc drive but it's no longer working. I got a new mac book and have found no answers as how to install my programs. I keep getting loop holes.
I would like to install Element 12 and all my image files together on one external hard drive, so that I can then plug the drive into any computer whereever I am (i.e., my home desktop, my laptop, etc.) and have full access to the Elements program and be able to access and work with all my image files (i.e. add photos from my camera, delete bad photos, add tags, adjust date and time, etc) regardless of which computer I am using.Â
Just bought my first SSD drive (240GIG)and are about to set it up for the purpose of doing any Adobe CC work the fastest I can. Â Obviously I have to install the Windows 7 Pro system onto the drive and Adobe files, I imagine that any work Adobe .psd/work files I should also keep on the drive? Â So partition it like C: Windows 100GIG D: Program Files and Work Files 140GIG Â Or should I add another drive E: so I can set scratch disks to it? Or can scratch disks just utilize my old non SSD drive? I imagine getting everything onto SSD would be the way to go, but thats only guessing.
Tried to install the Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 on my D drive. Did choose the D drive for installation, and still it is installing on my C drive. How can I install this program fully on my D drive
I've been using Photoshop since 1998 but my HDD recently suffered a complete failure and I've had to change the drive. Unfortunately, I don't have my original Photoshop disk, only a CS2 and CS5 upgrade disk (with both serial numbers).
Upon finishing installing, an error reads:  Exit Code: 6 Please see specific errors and warnings below for troubleshooting. For example, ERROR: DF015, DW063 ... WARNING: DF012 ...  -------------------------------------- Summary -------------------------------------- - 0 fatal error(s), 6 error(s), 2 warning(s)

I'm trying to install CS6 via the application manager. It downloads a file and then hangs at waiting to install. I've tried everything I can think of disabling virus scanner. I have CS5 installed could that be conflicting with the new software?
I have a question. How could I an install a printer to my Adobe PhotoshopCS6 for Windows? And also after the installation how could I scan anything thru the printer?
dell desktop with vista on it and when I tried to install ACSP and after I have entered the serial the installation just stopped. Is that version maybe too old?
I opened my Adobe Photoshop CS3 Web Premium and it told me I cannot use it anymore. Same with Adobe Fireworks. It was running fine previously until THAT day.
I was told by the error message to uninstall or reinstall the progam, which I did. But after uninstalling and installing CS3 again, only Adobe Acrobat was successful. All other components failed.
My iMac hard drive recently failed and I lost everything. I just bought one of the new iMacs with no disc drive. I had purchased Photoshop CS5 in 2011 but it came with CD's for install. I stil have them but it doesn't do me any good since there is no disc drive to put them in on the new computer.
How can I install Photoshop using my serial number from my original purchase? I downloaded the CS6 trial version and when I try to activate it with my old serial number it says it is invalid. Â
I just upgraded my macbook pro to a new drive and 10.6, and chose 'case sensitive' HFSX, 'cause I'm a heavy command line user and wanted the maximum BASH experience.I'm trying to install the CS5 demo to try some web design tools, and the installer immediately says "Installation to case-sensitive drives is not supported. choose a different drive location to install." So case-sensitive drives aren't supported; crappy but fair enough. Â The error message leads me to think that I can just choose a non-case-sensitive drive to install to, but I never get a chance to pick one - I click on the installer and it goes straight to the error message. So - how do I pick a different drive to install to? Am I just an idoit, is there no way to select a different drive, or will it not install on a system that even BOOTS from a c.s. drive, regardless of the format of the drive that CS5 is installed to?
