I have created a business using photoshop, i also have a friends business card in a PDF version....both have bleeds and crop marks....what is the easiest (or longest if necessary) way in Photoshop, Illustrator or Acrobat to put say 3 colums by 4 rows of the same business card on one sheet, with crop marks and all, and print it? i would love to know how to do this in all 3 programs.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI frequently get a list from my boss of a bunch of photos to print 4x6 (Epson R1900) there might be 10 or 100 different photos. Most of the time, I don't need to do any correction just print. In CS/CS2/CS3 I had an action that called the print dialog and selected Scale to fit and 4x6, closed the photo, etc.. Photoshop always says that all actions can't be saved here-- ERR! So if I were to do a bunch, I would print the first one manually, then fire the action on the rest. (why can't Photoshop remember all the print settings?) That worked well until CS4. I have the CS4 suite on XP. If you use "Scale To Fit" in an action, it crashes Photoshop. I have tried it on two Windows systems (XP and Vista/64) and it crashes EVERY TIME on both systems. Someone else tried the same action on the NAPP forum and confirmed a crash also. Ideally, there would be a way for me to select 50 photos in Bridge and click a button and have them all print 4x6 to my Epson R1900. Any recommendations on how to deal with this? Getting the action to work would be good, but surely there is a better way to do this! I know I could use my MacBook Pro and it will run the action just fine, but I really would like to get this going on the main system here at the office.

I created a single piece art work in illustrator CS3 and all is well, prints perfectly aligned. No problems. However, now I realize I want to save paper and place multiples, up to 3 per page, to do so everything will need to change orientation so all 3 can fit to print out on a standard size piece of paper. Is it possible to copy all layers of text and images as one unit, rather than having to recreate the entire piece 2 more times and getting it perfectly aligned again. I have spent hours getting it perfect.

So if i had made a selection of 123x456 pixels, copy selection, file -> new, then image dimensions were already set to 123x456 in the "new image" properties dialog,.
I understand i can export image to a PDF file format. Is there a way to export a few pages in a single PDF file?

I can not print imported images (JPG or TIFF) large size 80 - 260 Mb.
Print all but the raster! I tried to print on a plotter in JPG, TIFF, in whole or in parts, useless.
If I export the whole project in JPG 2000x3000 pix, all right, but I have 9000x10000 pixels - that size is not exported.
Is there a system variable for holding down shift and picking multiples?
When picking multiples files, to bring in xrefs, I can pick them, but some of the other in the office can not, it want let them pick more then one file at a time.
I am in the course of evaluating Xara, and it has a lot of good things going for it compared to Adobe, particularly in combining many of the features of ID and AI. The graduated color screening on objects is way better than AI.
However, I cannot find how to copy an object or text block and paste multiples at specific intervals. Both Pagemaker and InDesign have this feature, so I can't believe Xara overlooked it, as it is particularly useful when laying out say business cards 12 up on a sheet for printing. Yes, I have done a search on this forum and also studied Xara help files.
Having used both CS2 and CS3 I now realise that the prints that I work on in either appear much brighter on the screen that they do when printed, as much as 3 stops darker when printed. I have also noticed that in other programs such as Google Picasa that I use as a viewing tool the images appear closer to the images from the printer. I have used various pro-labs that require their profiles to be used and my own epson 3800 printer at home and despite trying lots of different settings I am unable to get prints that look like they do on the screen they are always darker.
I am using windows XP on a dual core 2.4 PC with 2 Gb ram and an ATI Radeon X1600 series grafix card which I have just updated the driver on. The monitor is an LCD type and is calibrated weekly using a spyder 2 express.

I have tried creating a canvas that is the size of the image I need, but cannot get the picture to fit perfectly in it with out distortion. Resizing the original does not work, because of course I have to constrain proportions.

When designing the pages sometimes i need to CTRL+T (shrink or enlarge) the images. So the question is, do these images lose (print) quality with all the CTRL + T?
BTW i never decrease the resolution, image size.
Ok gang my daughter as asked me to print of a image of her and her sisters - she's going to redraw over it with thick pencils.
My question is this, how do i or can i make four separate proportional images of the one big one for print of on A4, so it would be four quarters re assembled as the one big original?
Im creating a label for my CD, and I created the images with PS7 & then imported them into coreldraw in EPS format to do the text. (I heard that vector programs create cleaner, crisper text than bitmap programs,and my fonts are between 8 - 10 size). I added my text & some vector clipart then printed it directly from CorelDraw & the text & clipart was super crisp but the imported image was gritty, so I exported the entire file back into PS7 in Corel EPS format. I printed it in PS7 & the reverse happened: The image was nice & clean & the text was gritty. Am I importing/exporting in some wrong fashion, or there a way to have both my images & text come out crisp & clean?
View 7 Replies View Relatedresolution and printing. I know some of these questions are not specifically adobe Photoshop related,I understand the theory of dpi vs ppi and resolution vs print. However, I am not sure how to print compositions with mulitple images such as a photo maniupulation.
So here are my questions:
1) If I make a document set for 300 ppi and all my other layers and photos be 300 ppi? What if my photo is at 600 ppi (which it wouldn't be but for instance.)
2) I want to maintain print quality, but need to resize a photo to fit on the composition. For instance I want to keep my photo at 300 ppi but need to shrink it to fit on the smaller background composition I can resample or not.
- Not resampling does not allow me to digitally view the size, but maintains original photo quality. It also adds ppi which makes a huge file size to work on.
- Resampling allows me to keep the same dpi but hinders the quality.
If I am combining two images together that need to be high resolution for print and then need to be resized what is the best option? How can I view them digitally? Here is an example:

The 'background' will say be white.I then want to add a photo at 300 ppi but it needs to shrink to fit on the 'background.'How can I shrink that photo and still maintain a quality print AND see it on screen?

A Fault message reads " The following images will be rendered at less than 220dpi at the requested print size".
Same message with all print sizes. The printer works perfectly with all other software and is a HP 895Cxi.
I want to divide object into multiple object equally distribued. But my object is a "S", this is not a basic rectangle. And i want to apply this technique to other objects. I don't know if it's possible to do that with illustrator because it seems a little bit complicated.

However, the images fequently will not print until the file is closed and re-opened again, no matter what we are printing to, or even if a PDF is saved from the file, vector data is output, but not the eps images. This is putting a serious strain on our Graphics dept. as the files must now be revisited, and steps repeated.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to extend the edges of a number of images to give myself extra bleed room for print. The images have bits that are a little too near the edge and I need more room. The effect I'm looking for is repeating the final edge row of pixels for 1/8 of an inch beyond the original image on all side.
The obvious solution, manually repeating the row of pixels is too time consuming for the number of images I need to format.
The solution would have been simple if the imbeciles at adobe hadn't moved the "extend edges" option to the Oh-So-Useful auto lens correction tab in the lens correction filter. (how I HATE thee, Adobe)... Alas, I'm using CS5 and need an alternative solution.
Using Autodesk Map 3D 2009,
I've inserted several TIF images into my model space, toggled the frames of the TIF's then attempted to print them out in paper space. When I view or print/plot the images are missing. I've downloaded the raster inabler to no avail.
I have managed to reset the print size for smaller images (7,5 by 5 centimetres) and they have worked fine. But now I need a print 90 mm (9cm) by 150mm (15 cm) and even after unlocking the chain the print comes out at 150 by 115 mm...I've tried it about 50 times now and it's always the same.
