I spent hours on You Tube for the solution
I have many (+800) picture to work on for making their egdes more smooth. This is an example of one picture :
The form seems pixellised and i have to get the same form with better quality.
is there a fast and simple way to improve the picture according my needs ?

ps2: i have illustrator and photoshop
When moving a selected portion of an image from one canvas to another or even within the same canvas, I have a hard edge on the selection that I'm moving. How do I soften the edge of the selected area to make a smooth transition. When I move the selected area to where I want it, a hard edge gives the appearance that it has infact been moved, whereas if the edges were smooth or softer, it would have a more of a blend and not be as obvious that something has been moved.

Background:
I have succsssfully used the Transform=>Skew command to 'square' a photo of an art canvas. And have cropped the photo to the edge of the canvas.
Question:
What are the steps/strategy to selecting the black/dark background and converting to a transparent or lighter color.
I changed the background of a picture and I am satisfied so far, except for the end of the hall. The transition form where the hall ends and the green stuff I pasted begins. The edge is to hard or something. I don't know how to explain it but it is obvious that there can be made some progress there. How to make those edges more natural?
This is the original
And this is the result (sofar)
I am on Xara Photo & Graphic Designer 2013.I have a headshot that I can cut out of a larger photo using the freehand tool to trace the edges and then subtract the background that I want cropped out.
Now, I'm trying to figure out how I can apply some kind of transparency to the edges to soften them up a bit so they aren't so stark and will overlay nicely over my site background once the image is uploaded.
I have been having this problem for a while now that whenever I extrude or create something thats not totally smooth the edges by default are hardened. For example if I create a 12 faced cylinder it will hard edge everything including the verticle edges. Back when I first started using Maya i dont remember having to select specific edges to soften which can get very tedious and take up time.
I feel like there should be some sort of way to harden horizontal edges and soften verticle edges but I cant find the solution anywhere. Is there any way to change the default soften/harden edges?
Will post pictures upon request.
I am using Photoshop 8.0. I have a JPEG file of our organization logo. The actual logo is round, but is surrounded by white. I want to make the white part transparent so I can place the logo on other graphics and not have anything but the round part of the logo showing. How can I do that?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am designing ads in MS Publisher then copying and pasting into "paint.net" to the save & upload to photobucket.
Everything been working fine until this week and box edges are being cut off (right side & bottom).
I've included 2 pics; a correct one (canisters) and one not right (flr lamps).
I have CS5.5 When I open a jpeg in Illustrator, the "edges" (i.e. the box around the picture) prevent me from doing anything. When you hover over this box it actually says "edge". I am trying to ungroup a picture in order to (hopefully) change the colour of each item. I have tried the help pages as well as the Internet in vain. I have tried another jpeg just in case but the same thing happens. When I open the pic in Illustrator, the edges/box prevent me from proceeding further. the ungrouping and changing colours tasks?
View 3 Replies View Relatedhow to make pictures softer so-to-speak. I'm not sure what the effect is called.
and how would I change the colors like that? I couldn't find the originals,
the corners are well rounded, so when you zoom out it looks very smooth
Are there any photoshop plugins that I could use to soften the corners of my own layouts?
When shooting Portraits this is achieved with a filter on the lense to make the dreamy soft diffused effect around the subject.
Ive been trying to find this same effect on Photoshop but can not find how to do it, with what commands?.
I am a photographer for a while but I am not a expert on Photoshop obviously. I would like to know what would be the better workflow and where in the process should I apply soften the skin and sharpening the eyes of my subject?

After that, photoshop will then reduce the level of sharpening I have added. I have no idea why it's blurring my sharpening but it's driving me mad. Does anyone know what's causing this?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI tried the following in Illustrator,
So basically, I created coloured text inside Adobe Illustrator and however much I zoom into the text, the text always appears to have smooth edges. Once I click on 'Save For Web', the edge all around the text becomes rough and aliased. I chose GIF and PNG, but it still happens. The text is on a transparency background. The same problem applies to images when I am creating a logo.
today the preset brushes i use a lot aren't working properly.Dodge and soften skin are my main ones i use but they are making NO impact at all on the photos i use them on, im doing nothing different!

View 4 Replies View RelatedI thought this was going to be a piece of cake in the new Illustrator CC but I am having a few unanticipated issues:)I need to create some vector tire images with different edges, such as the top one in the image below. So I thought this would be SO easy by simply creating a pattern brush in Illustrator and then using that for the outside. So I created the shape you see in the middle image below and created a pattern brush with this shape.I then created an ellipse and used the new brush for the outline.
All of those are open paths...it has taken the shape and applied it to the outline but has kept each shape separate, so I am not able to fill the circle in black. I could of course go in and manually join each little corner separately where the little shapes meet but this will take FOREVER with all the images I have to do.
I'm trying to snap a head with it's neck with the merge edge tool, but somewhere along the way, the edges lost there border edge characteristics and now I can't merge the edges. Is there a way to make the edges back to the way they were?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI got this workflow,
1) From LR export to PS
2) Do all essential editings.
3) Save. File become 'xyz.tiff' now. (I want to keep this as master copy)
4) Crop to 4r, Save a Jpeg copy as 'xyz 4r.jpg'
5) PS save it as a copy, but do not automatically open the Jpeg copy. The tiff remains opened. I have to manullay Open, browse to it, and open the Jpeg. The 'Open Recent' list also do not list 'xyz 4r.jpg'.
6) Do 4r sharpening for the 'xyz 4r.jpg', save it.
Basically the files I want to keep and worked on is like this: NEF -> xyz.tiff -> xyz 4r.jpg -> xyz sml.jpg(maybe)
Now, it there a way in step (5) to have PS save the JPEG copy, and automatically open it? I don't care if the Tiff copy remains opened or not, I am done with it.
I got a new computer (Windows 7) at work this April and as of today, when I work on any of my JPEG images in PS CS5,suddenly it has defaulted its "Save As" to JPEG2000. How did this default change and how do I get it to default save as. JPEG again? There was nothing I noticed and no warning as to why this has changed, I didn't touch a thing!
(Last week, Adobe had to work with our IT manager to fix a problem that started occuring with my new Adobe Acrobat Pro 11 program. They had to log into my computer and change a registry thing to get it to work properly again...also something that changed without warning!!)
I'm using a Mac. My windows friend sent me a jpeg of a piece of art we're working on. It looked fine in the web browser. It looked fine in Preview when I opened it, and it looked fine in Photoshop. But when I save it from photoshop after adding just a small thing to the image, the whole thing comes out a bit brighter. I have no idea what's doing it. I've tried Save For Web and Save As and it comes out the same each time. I have played with color settings in the past slightly, but it was my understanding that only affected how photoshop displays the image and I wouldn't expect it to change an image I imported then exported again.
View 4 Replies View RelatedPrint to JPEG in LR5.2 produces a corrupt JPEG file that cannot be opened.
Lightroom is running on MacPro. When printing I am attaching an ICC profile provided by the bureau that is going to produce the prtins. Having said this the file cannot be opened neither on a Mac nor on a Windows PC.
Up until now, i used to exported as TIFFs but after reading Jeff Schewe book The Digital Print i have become convinced that printing through LR to a file is much more efficient.
It is convenient to add each image name as a text on each figure by Slideshow. Could I use each image name as the exported file name?
