We have 3 Photoshop CS3 licenses at my workplace, and we didn't record which machine have which license. Then a week ago one of the machines broke down and it was too late to deactivate. So now we are having a trouble reinstalling the program.

View 1 Replies View RelatedLast weekend, I formatted my PC HD and installed Windows 7 64 bit (previously installed was Vista). A human error was - perhaps - making sure that my backup of AppData was successful. However, my picture folder was on an EHD, and I suppose I would be saved anyway. I ran the import function from my EHD to LR3 (latest version), and everything went just find, except that my keywords were missing. Strange thing though, is that my lists of keywords and keyword suggestions were complete, but not connected to the photos (except for 1!!)So my question is, is there something I have missed (apart from my AppData folder) that could be fixed, or will I have to start re-tagging (keywording that is, metadata like dates etc. were imported as well)?
View 17 Replies View RelatedI'm not talking about the "deactivate" menu being greyed out or anything. I can select it and then tick the checkbox to erase my serial-number, but when clicking on "Deactivate" and answering with "Yes", it takes about 2-3 seconds before I get a "Deactivation denied" message. I tried to call Adobe Support, but the woman I got on the phone was completely useless. She didn't understand what I wanted to do, and wanted to provide me with new activation details. I explained to her three times why that wouldn't work and she simply skipped ahead to the next useless response in her database. Here is what I'm trying to do: 1) Deactivate the entire CS4 Master Suite.2) Make a backup of the my HD3) Clean-install Windows 7 RC (can't upgrade from Vista Business)4) Install and activate CS4 Master Suite on Windows 7. If that works (including my other important software) then I would continue using that machine until Windows 7 final is released in October and then I would need to repeat steps 1-4 again (you can't upgrade the RC to the full version). If that doesn't work (or one of my important programs doesn't work) then I would use the back-up and re-activate CS4. Why is there a limit for deactivations? View 3 Replies View RelatedAfter upgrading to 3.5 from 3.4.1 I received this error when attempting to publish new photos to my harddisk. First I thought the problem may be related to access rights. I am running Win7, 64 bit. So I reset the read/write rights in the export folder and the LR catalogue and AppData folders. No success. Then I opened a new cataloge and imported the old one in order to start "from scratch" - no success, publishing collections were not importet. Finally I switched back to version 3.4.1, and ... it works again
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have Windows XP with Production premium installed. I also have a laptop with Windows 7 RC, with parts of Production Premium (programs i use the most) installed on it too. I've done this to test production premium on Windows 7 as my secondary computer usage of the license (Single User). However, Windows 7 will eventually be deactivated on my laptop early next year by Microsoft, so my question is, if i tell production premium to deactivate on my laptop, will it affect my primary instalation on my XP PC? I do plan to get 7 for my PC as a full-use OS to fully replace XP when it comes out, but deactivating the product then and reactivation after instalation of 7 should work fine,
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to move an installation from one PC to another. It's a single-user licence (I think), it has a serial number and has been activated over the net. So I need (again I think) to Deactivate it on PC #1 before I can activate it on PC #2. The online help says that under the Help menu I should see a Deactivate option. But I don't. The options under Help are Photoshop Help, About Photoshop, About Plugin... , Patent and Legal notices, System Info, Photoshop Online, and a whole load of How-to's about using the product. Complete system disk has been set up from scratch.New installation of PSE 8 worked fine, migration of all catalogs and images without problems.No I get the PSE message that the number of activations has been exceeded.I was not aware that I had to deactivate PSE 8 on the old system :-((Â I still have a complete backup of the old system disk, but I can not start the old system any more.

When I use filter liquify, Photoshop crashed. I tried two RAM disks and both have the same behavior. In Windows 7 it worked good. I have final version of Windows 8 from MSDN, no beta.

Found two folders:
1. On the boot disk, found Usersxxxx.......AutoRecover
2. On the exclusive scratch disk - set on G: - found the folder G:PSAutoRecover (as well as the PS temp file in the root of G:).

Both the AutoRecover folders were empty.Set auto save time to 5 minutes... Rebooted. Restarted PS and created a new file - test01.psd. Saved it. Did some work, didn't save... kept checking... (played games for 15 mins). Checked. Both AutoRecover files remained empty.

Crashed the system (forced shutdown). Auto recover option and the test file was not showing up in the recent files list... opened the original test01 .psd. No work subsequent to the original save showed up. Nor any recovery option. Did some more work on the file... just checked... both the AutoRecover folders are still empty.(Just closed PS and saw that the PS temp file deleted itself. Both the AutoRecovery folders remain - empty.} So, my questions are:

1. Is there a 'Permissions' attribute i need to set? Or...
2. Is the AutoRecover messed up? Or...
3. Is the installation messed up and should i advise a reinstallation?

After following the instruction now Photoshop CC is supposely using my NVIDIA GPU, but it immediately crashed after launching, for both 32 bits and 64 bits. My NVIDIA driver version is 320.49 600 series, the latested one I just updated. If I deselect the NVIDIA option in the control panel I no longer suffer the crash problem but as you know there is a reported problem with Intel HD4000 integrated GPU where screen flickering keeps happening if you use a toolbox. To avoid the problem the only thing I can do is to deselect the use GPU option in CC option (changing the mode advanced setting doesn't work). By deselcting the GPU option get rid of the problem but there is another problem with zooming: it cannot zoom in real time anymore, instead it's having a toolbox where you choose a reagion and it will jump to that region, and I can only zoom in by doing this, not zooming out.

So basically I had a problem with NVIDIA which crashes CC immediately and a problem with Intel HD4000 integrated GPU with flickering screen and another problem with no GPU selected where I cannot zoom in real time. Whatever I do always give me some sets of problem that I can't solve.BTW I haven't try CS6 yet, I may proceed to download a trial copy and I thought CC and CS6 are using the same core. Nevertheless, those problem should definately be looked into.
My laptop recently died before I was unable to do a backup of the PSE 9 catalog. I thought I was covered, however, since I do regular backups of my total system. In reviewing the backup data though, I discovered that I had copies of all of my pictures -- but the backup tool that I was using was NOT copying the PSE catalog file. Bottom line, I'm now missing probably 15+ years of catalog information......

Someone has told me that they believe they can pull some information off the damaged disk of the old PC. If this is possible, what file(s) should I ask them to try and recover -- and where would it likely be located?

Windows 7 OSPSE 9Catalog was not backup prior to system crash. I do not recall file structure of where photos were stored -- but I do have back up copies of all pictures (now stored on my new laptop)Â

I originally downloaded CS3 from Adobe and I have the product Key. I have a backup of the original Adobe files that I downloaded in 2010, on a CD. I put a copy of the files on my new C: drive and then installed the software. It installed fine, but when I open up CS3 it freezes, it shows the CS3 menus but I can't do anything else.
