View 5 Replies View RelatedI am currently designing a little logo for myself to go on a clothing label. it is 6x2cm and i'm using very small fonts.
it looks quite chizzeled at the moment. Is there a nice technique to smoothen and make the text very clear?
How do you keep very small sized fonts looking good when manipulating them, as in using arc, skew, transform? I can manage this fine on bigger sized fonts, but when I want to make a very small font size arc (for ex to use on an avatar) it ends up looking blurry and not crisp and clean. tried pixel fonts but that was totally unreadable.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm having some trouble when typing text with the text tool. Whenever I try to type something down in PS, the font is incredibly small. In fact, it only appears when I set the font size to its maximum. And then, it's by far not the size I want it to be.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have two PSD files. In one file 11pt font looks very small, in the other file 6pt font looks huge! Both fonts are MPlantin. Both canvas and image sizes are the same. Why is this happening?
The reason I ask is I'm trying to get my font thickness just right when I print the file. The font keeps coming out too thick. I think this strange sizing this is a clue as to why.
I've used photoshop elements 10 ad it's worked fine on my other computers. I just purchased a new computer, same size monitor and I can barely read the font or text on it. I have 20/20 vision but the workspace is so small on this computer. I've tried changing the resolution on my screens and it's not changing photoshops screen at all. I'm not sure why it is a great size on my past computers and this updated computer it's not showing properly ? I can not use the program any longer with the changed sizing.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have recently purchased a Dell XPS15 laptop with a QHD+ (3200x1800) display. The PC is running Windows 8.1. I have also purchased Photoshop Elements 12 to run on it.
With the display at the native resolution, it is necessary to have the "Change the size of all items" option in the display settings of Windows 8.1 set to "Larger", in order for the native Windows fonts and UI elements to be at a reasonable size. The laptop came with this option enabled by default.
However, disappointingly the UI font size in Photoshop Elements is way too small when the display is at the native resolution. The application is basically unusable.
I have tried setting the "Use system font" option in the General preferences, but this doesn't seem to work.
The only way I can get the Photoshop Elements UI font to a reasonable size, is by dropping the screen resolution (to say 1920x1080).
This seems like a terrible waste of a beautiful screen, particularly when my main reason for using the PC is for editing photos, and my photo management and editing software is preventing me exploiting the full resolution of the display.
I tried Nexus font (finally) and don't see why people have mentioned it. I don't like it and uninstalled it quickly.Which font manager do you think is better than Font Nav?

View 5 Replies View RelatedAfter opening a file from another designer, this Chinese font has taken over my "omens – regular" font file. Anytime I use it, it converts to this font and each time I need to change a font weight, I must do it manually. As you can imagine, I use our company font all day so this slows me down quite a bit. Have you heard of this? It seems like some sort of font virus. I've researched removing it, yet can't seem to find the original font file to get rid of, which is even weirder."
We tried moving the font family to the trash, emptying the trash, rebooting the machine, and re-adding the font family and it still is happening.
I had posted in another thread about wanting to clean up a signature and make it look more font like. I tried that and it seemed to be pretty difficult due to the amount of random in a hand written signature.
So I think I'd like to approach this from the other direction. I have a font I like but I don't want it to look like the font (way too common). Is there a way to alter the font (not the entire font set or even to create a new font but just for a one word Logo)?
I'd ideally like to connect two of the letters and also modify the shapes of the letters just a bit.
Is there a way to specify a given system font that should be substituted for a given missing font? For example, the document I'm working with contains CourierStd and CourierStd-Bold which are not installed on my system. I would like to set Illustrator so that any time a document that contains these fonts is opened, Courier New and Courier New Bold are substituted automatically.

Then Again Open A1 do same size change 100% to 125% and save this by name A2.tif.

trying to make text all caps, but make the first letter in every word bigger.
In premiere pro there is a setting called "Small Caps" where all capital letters look like normal capital letters, but when you type lowercase it is just smaller capital letters.
The way I get around it is in Photoshop CS2 I just rasterize my text, then cut and manually make the rest of the letters smaller.
How would I go about doing that, without rasterizing my layers?
My text is coming out extremely small, all my settings in character are normal, and the font is not the problem, this has happened before.
View 1 Replies View RelatedAll of a sudden my text is incredibly small. The resolution is set at 300. The "Resample image" box is unticked. I've tried resetting the character...still the text is smaller than it should be. For example, 8 point Times New Roman can barely be seen with the naked eye. I haven't done anything different. What gives?
View 15 Replies View RelatedI was running CS4 before moving on to CC and never noticed any interface lag or uncommon issues. In Photoshop, I am encountering significant lag in using certain tools, e.g. the lasso tool. A common scenario: I select the lasso tool, begin to make a selection with my wacom pen and... nothing happens. Everything else is inaccessible for a few moments until a message box appears saying no pixels have been selected. From there, things may or may not work like normal. Today, the button tools in Photoshop were giving similar lag responses (even just using my trackpad, no wacom).
As far as small oddities go, the other day I was working in Illustrator and made a simple line stroke. When I moved a point with the direct select tool, it switched to a rounded corner on only that end point (not the other), though no rounded corners were selected in the stroke box. Toggling the rounded corner button turned on rounded corners, then returned to a single rounded corner. Moving the end point with the direct select tool again would make the rounded cap disappear.
I've checked my CPU usage while I work and it is very low, and I'm not working on large files (less than 10mb). Though I don't recall any more specifics at this time, the feeling I keep getting, misplaced or not, is that CC isn't stable.
I'm on the Retina Macbook Pro, 2.3 GHz Intel Core i7, 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 Ram, version 10.8.4.
I am running a subscription to Creative Cloud on a new Windows laptop....just Photoshop to start with. The fonts and icons are so small I can hardly see them...I have to get really close to the screen. I went to Edit >Preferences >Interface and changed the font size from medium to large but that didn't work (or if it did, the change was negligible). My screen resolution is set at 1920x1080 (recommended). I tried lowering it but that only changed the sizes of the fonts on my desktop, not in Photoshop. I run PS cs4 on my old laptop and never have had this problem.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm using photoshop CC on amacbook pro retina. I mainly use photoshop for web design and when I open a document that is 300x200 px, the 100% view is too small on screen. It was this way on PS cs6 also before I upgraded. I just tried to delete the prefs file and restarted PS and it did not change. I have also tried to change my screen resolution to "best for retina" and it is still the same.
