I 'm not really that new with photoshop, however, I'm new at creating graphics. Someone recently sent me some png file logos that are 50 X 50. Now I need them larger than that. They are acting like I should be able to enlarge them without messing with the quality. Is there a way to do this in Photoshop or Illustrator?
I create short videos using the PS frame animation panel. I used to be able to FILE-export-render video- and choose MPEG-4 Video in the settings panel which would render my file into a small .mov file. Now in CS6 the new render video panel does not have that option. I tried the QT options in the export window and my file is hugh! The H.264 option gives me an .mp4. I put the .mp4 into my web page via Dreamweaver and my video does not play when uploaded into the sever. The video plays fine in Dreamweaver before I upload to the server. After I upload to the server I just get a Q and no video on my web page. If I render the same file in CS5 I am able to view it in my web page. ADOBE WHY DID YOU CHANGE YOUR EXPORT VIDEO RENDERING OPTIONS in CS6?
I have been learning about Textures and I've been playing around with different ones and so I have come across a great site with lots of Texture files for download ...
[URL]...... Â Well, the files are small eg: 38x38 and 76x76 and how to create a larger image with these small images. Also, they are in .png format... if that matters. Â From what I've read a Texture is a Pattern ... right? So, I have searched the FAQ's, the Manual etc. for things like: How to make a large Pattern, How to use a small file for a large Pattern and so forth but I can't find the right info. Â Am I suppose to use them to create a Repeating Pattern? Can I do this and have them be seamless?
If I open a jpg file and draw a single line just a few pixels long, when I save the file it doubles in size (as in disk space, not pixels). How can I prevent that from happening.
we have been saving super high resolution images in Photoshop by doing a "print to pdf" as we call it. You print the document, but rather than selecting an ordinary printer, you select Adobe PDF. Within the page layout of that printer, you can specify the resolution and document size to print/save, etc. I love it because you don't loose any of the integrity of the image, but the file size always ends up being in the kilabytes, rather than megs. At home, I don't seem to have that printer as an available option. I don't do the installations at my office, so I'm not sure if there is a driver that I need to install, or does that driver only come with Creative Suite?Â
I have two PSD files. In one file 11pt font looks very small, in the other file 6pt font looks huge! Both fonts are MPlantin. Both canvas and image sizes are the same. Why is this happening?  The reason I ask is I'm trying to get my font thickness just right when I print the file. The font keeps coming out too thick. I think this strange sizing this is a clue as to why.
I'm trying to set up a shop to sell prints of my artwork. The shop only allows 5MB or smaller images for photos. I'm trying to save my work as a file size at or below that, but i can't figure out a way to do it without sacrificing quality. because I'm trying to sell prints quality of the image has to be as best as it can be. I've tried a bunch of methods on how to keep file size down, but they all mess with the quality of the image.
I've created a resume in Photoshop CS5 for OS X - I know, I should've used InDesign but I'm more comfortable working in Photoshop. Â The PSD is currently 2550x3300 px (8.5x11 in) at 300 dpi. I'd like to save the resume as a PDF flie so I can submit it online. I have no intentions of printing this particular document. Most websites will only accept a file size of under 1MB. What are the ideal settings for saving a PDF in the smallest file size without sacrificing on image quality? I should also note that I do not have Acrobat Pro.
Why is the text size in the instructional boxes "File", "Edit", "Image"Â etc: so small that they are almost unreadable. I know its me, but I can't figure out how to fix it.
This is my work scenario. I shoot on Cannon 50D in raw (15 mp). Upload the images to computer and import to Lightroom. I make my adjustmenst in Lightroom and many images I pull from Lightroom into Photoshop CS5 and do additional artistic touches there. I save from Photoshop so that it re-opens it back in Lightroom with my Photoshop adjustments. After I have done this with all of my images I then export the images my clients select for their purchased disc. This where I am concerned... Â What I know had once started out as large raw files are quite small by the dimension size, average approximate dimensions are 4750x3170. File settings are set to quality 100 and under Image Sizing I do not have 'resize to fit' checked. On occasion I have used the crop feature in Lightroom but not on many images and all of my images are small not just certain ones. Â I am fairly new to Lightroom but nervous about using it right now. I am actually postponing editing a new session until I can get some clear answers or I may just have to tackle the whole session in Photoshop like I used to because I will at least know that file sizes will not decrease in size.
When I try to save a small jpg file I get the following:
"Because of the limitations of the specified file (and possibly the save options you've selected) the saved file will be limited to a merged image. Would you like to continue?"
I am trying to export and save numerous Inventor Assembly Models, to send to various customers to import into their models. I have been saving them as .stp files, but they are very large files after exporting, and I'd like to know if there is a way to decrease the exported file size. I could zip them after I create them, but I was hoping there was an easier way or different format than .stp. I could also suppress numerous internal componants, but I would rather not have to go through that task either. In the end, they would really only require the outer shell, with any externally viewed holes still present.
How to create a very small DXF file with just a rectangular frame and the words "Missing Proforma"?
I have a VB6 program for producing our loop drawings which modifies a DXF drawing. All works very nicely but sometimes mistakes are made in the database and my routine gets upset. Previously it just reported the error but today I modified it to look for a "blank" dxf file on the network. This works very well but I am aware that if the folder gets renamed my routine won't find the file.
I thought that I could hard code the dxf file into my VB prog but the DXF file I made is VERY big, and I am sure contains a lot more information than is actually necessary for my needs.
I am unable to export them with a small enough file size so that they are able to see it on their slower computer. And it is a pain when it doesn't even fit on a dvd. These videos are somewhere around 2 hours long. I would also like to have them still HD. The only way I have been slightly succesful is to upload them to youtube then download them off again. Is there a way to do this? I have already tried H.264.
Most publishers cap the file size of banner ads at 30 KB to 50 KB. Is that possible using Edge? I know someone asked a question like this two years ago, and the reply was to use a CDN to serve the larger .js files. Is there a more direct approach now that Edge is no longer in preview?
Any way to convert this image to a vector without having to recreate the entire thing. I need to make it so that it can be used like the rest of the logos on this sponsor backI have tried so many different ways but it's just not coming out right. The client doesn't have access to a better copy of the image, and I need to get this to the printer tomorrow.
I love LRs ability to create great watermarks. Only thing, they seem to come out (from DNGs) at about 3 mb apiece (quality setting at 79)Â - super large. So I clicked the box to limit file size, and I chose 300k (for web), and it says "could not create a jpeg that met your limit".
I have an Adobe Illustrator CS6 document with body copy set using 6.5 pt. Helvetica Neue LT Std. - Bold Condensed & Light Condensed. Â After saving the file as a PDF in Illustrator using the [Smallest File Size] setting, closing the file, and opening the newly saved PDF in Illustrator - the 6.5 pt. text is now 5.53 pt. with a vertical scaling of 117.65%. Â This PDF is for client review purposes - on screen or laser print - not for reproduction. We try to keep the file size as small as possible to make downloading and e-mail attachments manageable. Â In this case, my client is opening the PDF in Illustrator to double-check the text point sizes for legal & regulatory purposes.
If I save the same Illustrator file as a PDF using other settings like [High Quality Print], the text size is unchanged. Â Â I was able to repeat the issue using Helvetica LT Std in place of Helvetica Neue LT Std. Â I have attached some screen shots for reference. Â Illustrator Source screen shot

I found this older thread from 2011 where someone had the same issue - but was never resolved: [URL] ....
I have Photoshop 6 in Windows 7 Home. Trying to use Clone Stamp tool to fix photo, but the cursors are too small to see, so I can't do anything with it.
there is Old picture in sizs 5" x 7". I want to print this picture from lab of size 16" x 20". Please can anybody tell me How I convert this picture in to biger size without any lose of resolution and Quality.
I convert the original picture in to TIF. then Go to Image size increase the Percentage by 100 to 125. and Again save this file into Tif with Name A1. Then Again Open A1 do same size change 100% to 125% and save this by name A2.tif. continue... This is right way or any method.
When i go to use my text tool they only font size i can see is 1296pt which looks like about 12pt if it was normal. I deleted photoshop 7 and reinstalled it twice but still no help.
trying to make text all caps, but make the first letter in every word bigger.
In premiere pro there is a setting called "Small Caps" where all capital letters look like normal capital letters, but when you type lowercase it is just smaller capital letters.
The way I get around it is in Photoshop CS2 I just rasterize my text, then cut and manually make the rest of the letters smaller.
How would I go about doing that, without rasterizing my layers?
All of a sudden my text is incredibly small. The resolution is set at 300. The "Resample image" box is unticked. I've tried resetting the character...still the text is smaller than it should be. For example, 8 point Times New Roman can barely be seen with the naked eye. I haven't done anything different. What gives?
I was running CS4 before moving on to CC and never noticed any interface lag or uncommon issues. In Photoshop, I am encountering significant lag in using certain tools, e.g. the lasso tool. A common scenario: I select the lasso tool, begin to make a selection with my wacom pen and... nothing happens. Everything else is inaccessible for a few moments until a message box appears saying no pixels have been selected. From there, things may or may not work like normal. Today, the button tools in Photoshop were giving similar lag responses (even just using my trackpad, no wacom). Â As far as small oddities go, the other day I was working in Illustrator and made a simple line stroke. When I moved a point with the direct select tool, it switched to a rounded corner on only that end point (not the other), though no rounded corners were selected in the stroke box. Toggling the rounded corner button turned on rounded corners, then returned to a single rounded corner. Moving the end point with the direct select tool again would make the rounded cap disappear. Â I've checked my CPU usage while I work and it is very low, and I'm not working on large files (less than 10mb). Though I don't recall any more specifics at this time, the feeling I keep getting, misplaced or not, is that CC isn't stable. Â I'm on the Retina Macbook Pro, 2.3 GHz Intel Core i7, 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 Ram, version 10.8.4.
I am running a subscription to Creative Cloud on a new Windows laptop....just Photoshop to start with. The fonts and icons are so small I can hardly see them...I have to get really close to the screen. I went to Edit >Preferences >Interface and changed the font size from medium to large but that didn't work (or if it did, the change was negligible). My screen resolution is set at 1920x1080 (recommended). I tried lowering it but that only changed the sizes of the fonts on my desktop, not in Photoshop. I run PS cs4 on my old laptop and never have had this problem.Â
