Jul 26, 2012I am working on making a Dwg file size smaller. Keep locking up the computer. I was wondering what would be better to use to keep the file size small?

AutoCAD Inventor :: Small File Size When Exporting
Feb 15, 2013I am trying to export and save numerous Inventor Assembly Models, to send to various customers to import into their models. I have been saving them as .stp files, but they are very large files after exporting, and I'd like to know if there is a way to decrease the exported file size. I could zip them after I create them, but I was hoping there was an easier way or different format than .stp. I could also suppress numerous internal componants, but I would rather not have to go through that task either. In the end, they would really only require the outer shell, with any externally viewed holes still present.

These videos are somewhere around 2 hours long. I would also like to have them still HD. The only way I have been slightly succesful is to upload them to youtube then download them off again. The PSD is currently 2550x3300 px (8.5x11 in) at 300 dpi. I'd like to save the resume as a PDF flie so I can submit it online. I have no intentions of printing this particular document. Most websites will only accept a file size of under 1MB. What are the ideal settings for saving a PDF in the smallest file size without sacrificing on image quality? I should also note that I do not have Acrobat Pro.

After saving the file as a PDF in Illustrator using the [Smallest File Size] setting, closing the file, and opening the newly saved PDF in Illustrator - the 6.5 pt. text is now 5.53 pt. with a vertical scaling of 117.65%.

This PDF is for client review purposes - on screen or laser print - not for reproduction. We try to keep the file size as small as possible to make downloading and e-mail attachments manageable.

In this case, my client is opening the PDF in Illustrator to double-check the text point sizes for legal & regulatory purposes.
If I save the same Illustrator file as a PDF using other settings like [High Quality Print], the text size is unchanged.

 I was able to repeat the issue using Helvetica LT Std in place of Helvetica Neue LT Std.

Jun 6, 2013I have CS5. The photos coming out of the camera are 300 dpi and approx 12.8" x 19.2". When I crop the photo to 300 dpi and 8x10 and send it to print, the printer says the photo is too small. It comes across as 72 dip and 8.333" x 6.667". I was expecting photos to come out of the camera with 72 dpi and a huge length x width. I can then crop and print without issue. Is there a photoshop setting that needs to be set? Is there a different work flow I need to use? I shoot with a 5D Mark III.Â

Dec 5, 2012I create short videos using the PS frame animation panel. I used to be able to FILE-export-render video- and choose MPEG-4 Video in the settings panel which would render my file into a small .mov file. Now in CS6 the new render video panel does not have that option. I tried the QT options in the export window and my file is hugh! The H.264 option gives me an .mp4. I put the .mp4 into my web page via Dreamweaver and my video does not play when uploaded into the sever. The video plays fine in Dreamweaver before I upload to the server. After I upload to the server I just get a Q and no video on my web page. If I render the same file in CS5 I am able to view it in my web page. ADOBE WHY DID YOU CHANGE YOUR EXPORT VIDEO RENDERING OPTIONS in CS6?

Well, the files are small eg: 38x38 and 76x76 and how to create a larger image with these small images. Also, they are in .png format... if that matters.

From what I've read a Texture is a Pattern ... right? So, I have searched the FAQ's, the Manual etc. for things like: How to make a large Pattern, How to use a small file for a large Pattern and so forth but I can't find the right info.

I have a VB6 program for producing our loop drawings which modifies a DXF drawing. All works very nicely but sometimes mistakes are made in the database and my routine gets upset. Previously it just reported the error but today I modified it to look for a "blank" dxf file on the network. This works very well but I am aware that if the folder gets renamed my routine won't find the file.
I thought that I could hard code the dxf file into my VB prog but the DXF file I made is VERY big, and I am sure contains a lot more information than is actually necessary for my needs.

Feb 22, 2012when i make my brush size very small (to the point that its only like 4pixels dot on the screen), a crosshair symbol automatically appears around it which makes it hard to see the cursor's surroundings when working on small details without zooming in alot (which would make a 4px cursor appear bigger thus losing the crosshair again). I guess this feature is there for people that might have trouble locating small cursors, but on a large tablet that allows very fast work without having to zoom in much, this makes things harder. Is there a way to disable this or modify some files or "hack" the cursor icons somehow and delete it?

(Tried all possible combinations of the PS prefferences but none of it seemed to be related to the cursor becoming a crosshair once the brush size gets very small relative to screenresolution)

Jun 7, 2009we have been saving super high resolution images in Photoshop by doing a "print to pdf" as we call it. You print the document, but rather than selecting an ordinary printer, you select Adobe PDF. Within the page layout of that printer, you can specify the resolution and document size to print/save, etc. I love it because you don't loose any of the integrity of the image, but the file size always ends up being in the kilabytes, rather than megs. At home, I don't seem to have that printer as an available option. I don't do the installations at my office, so I'm not sure if there is a driver that I need to install, or does that driver only come with Creative Suite?Â
