I've been getting one or two a week. Haven't figured out yet what triggers it, but it only happens in CS6. I did recently reinstall the entire OS, so that's clean. Here's the latest panic info the reboot generates to send to Apple.other than the panic notation near the top of the info tells you what it thinks happened.

Two times in the last 15 minutes Photoshop CS has caused my Mac to crash.
It happens when I try to crop an image. I am trying to crop a .tif using the crop tool constrained to the proportion of 720x480 at 300ppi.
A few weeks ago Photoshop CS was telling me that my scratch disks were full and wouldn't allow me to crop. I checked the scratch disk designation in the preferences of Photoshop CS and it was totally fine... 27 gigs of room, which should be MORE than enough.
Where is the "blur kernel” one click deblur in Photoshop CS6?
Is deblur still in development? Or was it killed? Is there any status update on the progress of the deblur function? An overwhelming majority of the information available reference the same October 2011 Adobe Max conference demo.
(Adobe showed off the new deblur prototype at its Adobe Max conference in October during a set of feature sneak peeks...)
"The prototype feature uses a computer algorithm to analyze how the image was blurred and then creates what Adobe called a "blur kernel." After the kernel is generated, it can show you information such as what the motion trajectory of the camera was while the shutter was open -- causing the blur in the first place. The next step is to simply hit a "restore sharp image" button and the photograph is fixed."
It was cited by some sources as being an upcoming Photoshop CS6 feature while other sources were more vague with statements resembling "It's not clear if or when the new unblur feature will make it into a future version of Photoshop, as the company warned all sneak peek features were just prototypes with no concrete product plans."
Where is the latest with the Adobe Photoshop "blur kernel” and the Adobe Photoshop one click deblur feature?
Currently I am running PhotoShop extended CS5, 64bit. in which i have my fovorite plugins (Topaz, Nik and OneOne) running perfectly.
I have upgraded to Adobe Creative Cloud and installed PhotoShop extended CS6 using Adobe Application Manager as recommended. It didn't ask me if I wanted to upgrade or do a new install for PhotoShop. So now I CS6 running with no Plug-ins. I need my plugins! LOL.
I tried pointing to additional plugins in the CS6 preference to the CS5 plugin folder. Upon Launch it gave me a whole slew of error messages saying something cant load or launch C+ runtime error or what not. It does open up, but it only gives access to Nik and Topaz. OnOne doesn't show up under filters or extensions.
So, what are my options?
Just copy the plugins from CS5 to CS6?
I dont't want to reinstall all the plugins to CS6 if I don't have to as I've auto updated them over time to current versions online, so only have installation files for my original purchases.
I'm happy with the NX version, but if I want to upgrade to XT, how do I do it? I looked on the upgrade options for XT and upgrading from NX, is not there.
I am doing simple extrusions in 3D. One or 2 extrusions in a document. Specifically, earrings. I have to save every few steps , because PS is going to crash at least once per hour.
My computer has 12GB RAM, and a 1GB GPU. My MAC is less than a year old. It should be able to handle the workload.
When I'm doing 3D I shut down all other programs on my computer.
I have turned up all the preferences inside PS pertaining to performance.
When I save a document the SAVE time is 3-7 seconds. Each time I hold my breath that it doesn't fail.
I've been using the HDR merge function over the last few days and happily converted numerous images successfully. However, all of a sudden, pictures from the same photo shoot are being converted incorrectly and the HDR function is causing the highlights to be red and completely blown out. I'm doing nothing different and all the lighting is the same as before. Does my software have a bug?
I've just tried doing the HDR merge on the same files in my old Photoshop CS3 and I don't get the problem. Perhaps there's a bug causing it???
CS6 not only shuts down itself, it shuts down my computer. I have a high-end graphics card (which I specifically got to run my photo-editing monitor), i7 processor, Win8, 64-bit, high resolution. It always happens, without fail, when I choose a large size brush or whatever tool in cloning, spot-healing, dodging, burning, etc). Otherwise, it runs fine. But if I choose a large brush, etc, it only shows me a half circle instead of the full circle, freezes PS, shuts down my computer, and then the computer re-starts.
I used this same PS program on my previous Win7 64-bit computer, which had far less capability, processor, graphics, and other credentials than this current one. It has nothing to do with having other apps running because it happens regardless. It has nothing to do with Bridge because I don't use Bridge. It happens every time as described above. When the computer boots itself back up, there's an option for me to send the notice of the error to Microsoft, which I've done about 50 times. Could it have something to do with Win8? Hope not, because I checked before I (regrettably) got a computer with Win8 to make sure Photoshop was compatible with Win8.
when i try to use marquee tool by clicking on it Photoshop cs6 closes or I see an error message and then it closes? text tool causes the same problem? im using xp sp3.
I am having a problem with copying one .png to another .png.I am trying to combine 8 .png files into 1. The way I am doing this is by expanding the canvas on 1 of the .png files and then going to the other and using the rectangle marquee tool to select the .png and then copying and pasting it into the other .png. When I do this it is causing there to be a color change in the copied .png.
All of my images are now importing into Lightroom3 and Photoshop CS5 with a blue cast. I have reformatted the SD card, tried with other SD cards, re-calibrated my monitor with X-Rite colorometer, changed monitors, tried with another camera, changed card readers. The images appear as shot in Bridge, but when opened they come in with the blue cast. The same images import properly on my laptop. I'm shooting sRGB in camera and have tried a number of different shots, so artificail lighting is not the issue. All images that are already on my hard drive import properly. I was working in LR when this occurred, so, I think I must have inadvertently mades some alteration to the settings while working in LR. However, opening PS separately and bringing an image in independent of Lightroom has the same result. Images appear as shot in Adobe Bridge, then open with the blue cast.
I just set up a new rig (specs below) and everything was going great. I added a second monitor and suddenly PS CS6 starts crashing randomly. I think I discovered that PS will not support a dual monitor config if each monitor is on a different video card.
My main monitor (30" dell) is powered by an ATI Raedeon HD 4850. My secondary monitor (HP Elite L2201x) is powered by the on board Intel HD Graphics 4000 because the display only uses Display Port. Both are supported cards and PS runs fine with either one used independently with or without GPU support.
When I have BOTH connected the Graphics Processor Settings box is greyed out and when I mouse over that section the description box below says "Graphics hardware acceleration is unavailable. You will need to upgrade your video driver and possibly your video card" and the programs crashes randomly. The same behavior occurs regardless of on which monitor PS is being displayed.
I have attempted to tweak BIOS settings to establish a hardware priority so PS would only see one card but to no avail. As this issue prevents me from using my second monitor entirely (I use PS daily), I'd really like to get it resolved.
I've got an urgent fix to do for some CD artwork, sadly I am far from being a photoshop guru and I don't have time to send it back and get it redone.
Basically, I have a load of text spiraling inwards towards the center of the disk but it ends up a bit too close to the center. I need to enlarge the hole in the middle without distorting the text too much.
My first thought was to try the Filter/Distort/Spherize effect and indeed this does make the hole proportionally bigger but it also makes the text near the edge much smaller than the text near the center.
I need some kind of radial or spiral transform/distortion that will maintain the proportion of the lettering, although roughly would be fine, it doesn't need enlarging very much.
The Photoshop CS6 (13.0.4) selection, text, and shape tool causes colored artifacts on screen. I'm running on a retina Macbook Pro updated to the latest ML release. I have disabled GPU acceleration. I have also tried starting Photoshop with no plugins but this does not work.
I'm having an issue with the Liquify Filter's final results. When using the filter it works fine, and if I use the filter on a solid layer its results given back to the original image are perfect also.
However, using the filter on a layer that has mostly transparency behind it (a layer with sketched line-art on it for example), the result given back to the original image is brightened significantly. The only work-around I have found so far is to merge a solid colour background to the transparent layer, and then the result works fine. However this is not desirable because future use of the image as line-art requires editing to get it back onto its own layer that can be destructive when the work contains toning.
Ever since the latest update to PS CS6, when I add a simple effect to a text layer, like emboss, the working image disappears when I zoom in and out. Also, the layer effect does nothing to the type. It's almost like a dispay issue. When I turn the layer effect off, my image is visible again.
I crop a picture and when I print it white lines appear on the print . When I print the uncropped version of the same picture I get no lines . How can I get it to stop.
When I free transform and warp a layer to lie flat, sometimes I'll get this harsh pixellation at one end of the layer. It doesn't appear while I'm doing the warp, just suddenly coming up when I hit enter to apply the transformation.
So for example, Ill be transforming this grid, which is originally about 9x this big.So when I''m running the transformation/warp, it looks like this Not great, but at least most of the lines are still intact on the left and back (the right side is basically fine looking) But once I hit enter, I get this And now like, half the lines I did have are gone, and what's left is super pixelated.
Is there an interpolation setting I could be using? Is it something unavoidable from how distorted I make the layer?
I have the beta installed but I also installed the trial of CS6 on another computer.. Both do the exact same thing with the Adaptive Wide Angle filters. I set a line as straight, mark as vertical (2 lines really) and then process. The lines that are vertical come out wavy... best way to describe it..
I add the 2 control lines to the very outside most windows where the windows meet the brick... This is a closeup of the output... I don't know when straight lines became waveforms.. but they do with this filter!
Ok just took the leap to Windows 8 and when reviewing the Reliabity Report in Windows PSE11 is showing up as stopped working, and it is causing some performance issues. it is because I dont have Quick Time installed. Installed Quick Time still have the problem.
I'm currently working on a job in a team where we'll be working on different drawings, yet have the other drawings x-referenced into our drawings to keep up with updated files. We've had no issues with this for the few months we've been doing this, until overnight one night this week it seemed everything changed.
I'm currently updating our elevations while my partner is updating the plans. I have those plans x-referenced into my elevation drawings. The issue that we've run into is simply that any time I have my elevations or any drawing open that contains an x-reference, the file that is being referenced won't open without stating "[that file] is currently in use by [other user]. Would you like to open the file read-only?"
I've seen this alert before and it's understandable when dealing with the actual file (one person opens a file another already has open), but I've never before had this alert stem from the file in question being an xref. I closed my elevations and then opened the plans with no problem...no alert stating they were in use by someone else.
I'm a theatre student, and one of the software programs we have in our design studio is 3DS Max. We don't actually use it for theatre work (it's for another class we share the studio with,) but I'm interested in design work, so I thought I'd try to teach myself some of the basics, just to get a leg up.
I've used some design software before, so I'm not totally ignorant of the basics of using a program like 3DS, but I've been having some problems that I just can't figure out. I'm trying to model a chair. So far I've sketched out the seat base by using a box, with an added arc. I've joined, welded, and extruded by seat base, as well as moving it in the Z axis +18 inches. Secondly, I added some tape helpers, because I want to make sure the base is the right size. It was off a little bit, so I just selected the sketch in the top view, and the appropriate segments, and moved it a bit to meet up with the tape helper. However, here's where I run into problems.
If I move any part of my sketch while in the top view, it changes the models Z location in all other views. I've never had any problem like this before. I've tried everything I can think of, including locking the Z axis move in the objects hierarchy, but so far, no matter what I do, the object gets changed in all axis, even when I'm manipulating it in one axis.
I just installed CS 6 Cloud and now I can't copy, cut, or import from Illustrator anymore. It crashes flash, fireworks, and Photoshop. Illustrator cs6 x86 won't open any files at all. I'm on Windows 7, Dell Precision, 8 GB ram. What to do with all these mdmp crash logs?
I am running Windows 7. Recently upgraded from LR 4 (which was always stable for me) to LR 5. I have the application on one drive and my catalog and previews on a separate SSD drive. Anytime I run lightroom 5, after a little while (10-15 minutes), the drive with the catelog and previews is no longer accessible or even viewable from windows explorer. I've never had this trouble with any other program and the only way I've been able to see the drive again is by restarting my computer.
I've just got an iPhone 4S and shot a test video to edit. However, when I load it and try to create a file, VS10+ crashes every time within a few seconds.
All I'm doing is trying add a few simple titles with the output file being 'same as project settings' so the output should be mpg4, PAL, 720 x 576. This is the first time I've tried editing iPhone video and I've never had this problem with any stuff that I've edited in the past.
I am running XP and X5 Ultimate. My workflow follows :
File Insert media file to library Insert Digital media Select drive in import from digital media box Start
Then the screen goes black and the PC reboots with an error report box showing. The DVD has a UDF file system and it is 2.32GB and plays in Power DVD OK.
I am using X5 on a Win 7 64 bit system. I am having an issue with colors that manifests itself in 3 ways: When I try to change a color from rgb or cmyk to PMS, the program freezes and gives the error message that CorelDraw has stopped working. Files that have been created using more than one palette will not open on this system - although they will open fine on other machines running X5. Finally, if I even mouse-over the color palettes tab from the "Windows" drop-down menu the same thing happens.
I have used F8 to reset the workspace and when that did not work, I re-installed Coreldraw with the same result.
It has to do with the organizer. I use my desktop for dropping photos too temporarily then delete them. My organizer is always left viewing that at the bottom of the X4 UI. When I delete those photos it still shows their placeholder when I hope X4 again and it freezes. As if its trying to find them and can't so it just stops. I can obviously work around that... somehow I'm sure. But anyway to stop it form doing that? ( I tested it by putting back all the photos it was trying to find. Opened right up without any hesitation.)
So A client hires a designer to create a vehicle wrap. He does it in Photoshop. If you have not done vehicle wraps before you DO NOT DESIGN IN PHOTOSHOP!!! Anyway, he sends me a link to download a psb file. Another bad sign. Means the file is huge! 1 hr to download. I open it in photoshop (at least he left it unflattened) and reduce it down enough to make a psd with layers intact. I then import it into Corel and begin placement into the vector vehicle template. Once I get all the images fiting nicely I hit save. Come back to it the next day and it won't open. Message says a bitmap is not right "Abort, Retry or Ignore" I try the backup file, same error. I try to move a copy to my hard drive instead of working over the network. No go! Try rebooting, no go! Rebuilt the file agian and saved that version to my desktop. Saved successfully, made a couple changes and then CorelDraw crashes and shuts down. Try to reopen the file and same errors occur.
what could be causing all of my add-ins to spontaneously unload themselves? For the second time in a week, I opened Inventor to have all of my add ins unloaded, and the "Load at Startup" and "Loaded/Unloaded" checkboxes are unchecked. I am not doing this and I am the only user on this machine. System stats and version below.
