At times, the alphabets appear to be all in one character space.

Photoshop Elements :: Entering Text / Mega Spaces Seem To Be Default Between Lines Of Text
Mar 19, 2013when entering text, mega spaces seem to be a default between lines of text. Changing the leading does nothing to correct this. Thinking that my software became corrupted, I deactivated and reinstalled. But the problem persists. If I type the text into Word, cut and paste into PSE10, the problem continues.

Apr 22, 2012I've been adding text to layers for a few months with no problem. I use the text tool all I get is a 'dot' with a line that extends as I type. It does create a layer and the layer is named by whatever I typed but there isn't anything there.I've gotten the outline to show, but it's empty. the font size might be too small to see. I have a 25 inch background and set the font to 72 but still nothing.

May 20, 2012At some point, several months ago, my sister and I were playing with transform (by phone, we are in different states) -- she had taken a Photoshop class and wanted to try to duplicate something.
I tried using my type tool yesterday, and couldn't see anything when I typed. (White background, black text, Arial, 14 pt, 100%). I've tried clearing type presets. I finally tried blowing it up to 500% and saw a small, gray font-like image where I was typing.
I held down Ctrl and played with the transform box: if I expanded the box, my text is there. I've tried clicking on everything at the top when in transform. How to get my type tool entering text in the regular way.

Sep 25, 2013I am simply trying to create a banner for my Etsy shop (essentially a picture with text over it) and I'm having a devil of a time getting this simple task accomplished. Whenever I have the text box over the image I want to use I type in the text and it comes up as 'little marching ants' at the bottom of the textbox. I then go into preview and none of the text comes up over the image.

Jul 9, 2012I'm currently running AI CS6. In previous releases, when I wanted to start entering text at a certain point (with the regular type tool) I would position the I-beam at the vertical line where I wanted to start, and with the little horizonal line of the I-beam on the horizontal line where I wanted to start, and click. But in CS6, that click seems to position the text on the left-most dotted line surrounding the I-beam, rather on the I-beam itself. Is there some parameter I can set so that the I-beam determines the starting point of text? Or do I just need to adjust my thinking to a different way?

Dec 18, 2013How do I prevent "Edit Attribute" pop up prompt for entering text for an attribute in a block? I just want the same attribute text each time I insert the block, I don't want the "Edit Attribute" popup window to re-enter the same text every single time.
I do want the attribute text so mirror won't reverse it (I just want permanent attribute text).
First I delete the old regular text.Second I give the block an Attribute Definition Tag and enter the text I want in the Tag blank. Third I center where I want the text. Forth I save the block.
When I finally insert the block I get the "Edit Attribute" pop up to renter what I want it to say. Like I said earlier, I don't want this pop up, I just want to enter the text once and that's it. Also if I enter nothing in the "Edit Attribute" pop up, then no text will show on the block.
CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X5 :: Entering Sizes In Text Boxes Does Not Change Object Size?
Apr 4, 2011this function is not functioning anymore. I may have done something to cause this but I don't recall.
Entering sizes in the text boxes does not change the object size anymore.
The only option right now is use the transform size docker...would rather not have to do that.
Also, would not like to hit F8...

Sep 23, 2013PSE 9 crashes when entering the editor, returning a note about 'error 1 - need to re-install PSE 9' which unfortunately I can't do because it rolls-back the attempt to uninstall. There must be something blocking the uninstall required before it will re-install the product. Still trying some ideas like installing on another drive on the computer, but to no avail.

Aug 20, 2013I've been running into a bug where entering a value into the leading and/or tracking fields in the Character panel generates random numbers. The major problem has come when I'm building banners at large sizes. I enter a value and suddenly I get a min/max warning that I've clearly gone over the maximum value allowed by Photoshop in that field. I press "OK" and another random value is inserted into the field rather than the allowable maximum value, which the warning box promised me it would enter in the field. This generally continues until I force quit Photoshop CC and restart it...hopefully not loosing too much work in the process.
(I've been burned too many times by Photoshop bugs and issues to know that I should save very frequently...to my desktop.)

Jan 22, 2013Just loaded PS Elements v11. Have used PS Elements v7-9 previously. When sharing photos using e-mail (comcast.net) as attachments and photo mail, I was able to enter a message to recipient before sending the e-mail. In Elements 11, in area where text can be entered, I cannot get a cursor to type a message. The phrase, Here are photos....., is embedded there and can't even erase. Area is frozen to using a cursor. Sending the e-mail is no problem.

Nov 15, 2012I have a customer who wants his drawings in imperial units. (They're American bless 'em). Normally I'd just draft it in millimeters (so no issue with block scaling) and then overwrite the dimensions manually. But just for a laugh I thought I might try doing it in imperial from scratch.
I understand all the scaling and units issues, but exactly how do you enter the required imperial dimensions in the command line? For instance, if I have enabled architectural and inch units at 1/16" precision, do I have to calculate and enter 1'-6-3/16" in decimal inches (ie 18.1875)? or is there some way of entering
Also, is this true of all imperial style options?
What about having two sets of dimensions - i.e. is it possible to draw and dimension something in metric mm then add a second set of dimensions scaled to 1/25.4 in imperial units?
Lightroom :: Entering Photos In The Bridge?
Oct 7, 2012I just watched a few Lightroom 4 tutorial videos and it looks like exactly what I have been waiting for. I have been using PS for years but only accidently discovered Bridge on my hard drive a few months back and it happens to be exactly wha I had been looking for to organize my 1000s of SCANNED family pictures.
Today alot of programs are coming out for pictures downloaded from digital cameras (which I plan on eventually getting back to having had my own darkroom in my "youth"). So, I am wondering if this is true for Lightroom. Can i use it for scanned pictures and will it import all the metadata I have been entering into my photos in Bridge? Certainly the photos have to be cleaned up a bit and that may have to be done in PS but I like the way LR4 flows. I have looked, years ago, at Flicker,etc....too remedial.

Apr 28, 2011It seems that I cannot enter a special character into the text of a title with Alt-0xxx, even though this works with just about all other Windows applications. Is this a feature or a bug? Or is there a way to do this that I'm unaware of?
For the moment I'm entering the special characters into a text editor, then copying and pasting them into the title, which works, but is awkward. I don't understand why VideoStudio doesn't let me enter the characters directly.
The characters in question are things like typographic quotes, some accented characters, bugs like copyright and registered trademark, and other things that are not unusual to need to use in a title.

Jan 10, 2013When I try entering a X/Y coordinate or enter the opacity number, when I try to type example 58, I type the 5 first then the 8 but it types it in as 85 putting the text infront
Also, when I type in the coordinates and want to delete the decimal place example, 23.756 to 24, I try clicking in the place and hitting backspace or highlighting the 3.756 and entering 4, it will hurry and highlight everything so when I backspace it delets all or when I enter the 4 it will highlight all and put the 4 so my object flys to another part of the art board.

For the sake of a clean test: I create a new doc, using the New Document Profile: Print.
Select Rectangle Tool, click on artboard, type in 300px for width. ENTER.
In inches, it measures as 4.1667in. Why?
I expect it to be precisely 1in.
Also, if I punch in 300pt, it comes out to be 4.1667in as well.

Feb 20, 2010Whenever I try to enter the print module Windows tells me Lightroom has encountered a problem and needs to close. The print module worked fine some weeks ago, but now it doesn't. Everything else seems to work fine.
First thing I tried was to relaunch and optimize my catalog which didn't work.
I then tried to reinstall LR 2.4 with no luck. I then Downloaded and installed 2.6, still no luck.
I had cleaned the registry after the print module worked last time, so I reloaded the registry with those values, still no luck.
I then deleted Lightroom 2 Preferences.agprefs and let LR relaunch to create a new one. Now the print module works.
As I am not using the default catalog I went into preferences and pointed LR to my catalogue and then relaunched again thinking the problem was solved. But when I tried to go into the Print module LR crashed again.
I figured that since the Print module worked with the empty default catalog the error must lie somewhere in my catalog. I therefore went back and tried using one of my backup catalogs, but LR crashed again when I tried to access the Print module. I even went back and tried all my backup catalogs and a couple of the oldest ones does not cause LR to crash when going into the Print module.
I'm on Vista with 4 gb of RAM, using dual monitors, and I've tried reducing the resolution and using only one screen as well.
So, my question is what could possibly go wrong inside a catalog file that would cause LR to crash in one module only? And why is it that the backups saved even the month before I last used the print module also causes the problem? Seeing as how I've been using that very same catalog and having a working print module?
Lightroom :: 4.2 Crashes When Entering Print Module
Dec 12, 2012When going from any module into the Print Module, Lightroom crashes. Another thread suggested using a new catalog without any templates. I did and the application did not crash. Unfortunately, Lightroom is now booting into the print module with the catalog that is causing it to crash. From previous threads it sounds as if the issue was print templates. How do I delete the error causing templates?
