Photoshop Elements :: Resolution On Presentation So Low?
Nov 10, 2013
When I make pictures with my camera, they are of very high quality, about 4000*3000 pixels. When I open them in Organizer elements, the quality is still very high.
However, whenever i want to make a presentation, teh resolution of so much downgraded that pictures get all blocky. If I want to export this presentation, the highest quality i can select is 1024*768 dpi, ony 25% of the original photo size.
How I can get my presentations in a decent quality?

I'm having exactly the same problem as this guy but on CS6 URL..... "I am consistently having problems creating multipage pdf files using Bridge; though they are created using 300 dpi files in Photoshop CS6 the resulting multi page pdfs from Bridge are not print quality."
I couldn't find any updates for Bridge CS6.If Adobe wants us to use Bridge for generating pdf's it'd better be working correctly.

I have CS4 and am consistently having problems creating multipage pdf files using Bridge; though they are created using 300 dpi files in Photoshop CS4 the resulting multipage pdfs from Bridge are not print quality. I never had a problem with this before Bridge was required to create pdf presentations.
The files used to create the presentation in Bridge are either psd or Photoshop pdf at 300 dpi. I am completely self-taught in Photoshop and my skill level is moderate at best,

Once I transfer image files from the camera to the Organizer (PSE10), they are listed in the information panel window as having a resolution of 180. I use the printer more than the internet for these files, so I really want the resolution to be 300 or above, and would like to set a preference to that effect. I know that I can resize them individually, or by a group, but I'd like to get the resolution set properly in the first place rather than adding yet antoher setp in my post processing efforts. I am assuming that the resolution is set by PSE10 because I can't find anywhere in the camera's (Canon Powershot SX40 HS) user manual that mentions that the camera sets a resolution. Is there some way that I can adjust the resolution that PSE10 assigns the images when they are imported into the Organizer? I'm using Windows 7 with 12GB Ram.

Using PS Elements 11 on Win 7 computer. Some photos I open are displayed at 72 ppi resolution. Other photos open at 180 or 300 ppi resolutions. What determines this? How can I specify the ppi resolution to always use when opening a photo.

I used the magic extrator to isolate my subject in a high resolution picture (3000x4000 pixels). Then I put it on a background that I got off the Internet. It looked great on the screen, but when I went to print it at a photo store, the resolution was so low that I couldn't use the picture. I also don't know how to add a background any other way. Have others had the resolution of the picture degenerate to this point when it was put on a background?

I realize the nature of my question maybe asking the impossible, but I have a low res image I downloaded from the internet, placed in an InDesign page, blew it up and printed it out. I was going for the distressed look that it has, it looks ok when I print it out considering it's low res and I blew it up fairly large. However, it's a little too pixelated to look professional when printed. Are they any tricks or things I can do to make it look higher res for print. I've attached the image as well as a screenshot of the InDesign file so you can see it in context.

I occasionally use the option when saving an edited picture to just overwrite the original. I would have thought that this option might go further by having the program default of making the saved copy the the same size as the original or if its dimensions had altered save at the same resolution& degree of compression.

I have recently purchased a Dell XPS15 laptop with a QHD+ (3200x1800) display. The PC is running Windows 8.1. I have also purchased Photoshop Elements 12 to run on it.
With the display at the native resolution, it is necessary to have the "Change the size of all items" option in the display settings of Windows 8.1 set to "Larger", in order for the native Windows fonts and UI elements to be at a reasonable size. The laptop came with this option enabled by default.
However, disappointingly the UI font size in Photoshop Elements is way too small when the display is at the native resolution. The application is basically unusable.
I have tried setting the "Use system font" option in the General preferences, but this doesn't seem to work.
The only way I can get the Photoshop Elements UI font to a reasonable size, is by dropping the screen resolution (to say 1920x1080).
This seems like a terrible waste of a beautiful screen, particularly when my main reason for using the PC is for editing photos, and my photo management and editing software is preventing me exploiting the full resolution of the display.

I am a Photoshop newbie and I have a series of graphics (all 72dpi from a website) that I would like to print in 300dpi. Is it possible to take a 72dpi .jpeg or .gif file and easily convert it to a higher resolution printable graphic? If Photoshop can't do it, is there any type of program that can?

When an image is cropped using the cropping tool to a preset aspect ratio (without specifying a resolution), the resolution of the cropped image is different than the original. I'd like to be able to understand exactly how this new resolution is determined and be able to calculate it myself. The help section of the software just says, "If you use a preset size, the resolution changes to fit the preset." But I'd like to know the details of how the resolution changes.
How the resolution of the cropped image is determined in Photoshop Elements?

Installed CS4 Production Premium about a month ago. Recently went to File--Automate--PDF Presentation and it is missing. Should have read the forums before I got CS4! So I confidently went back to Photoshop C3 Extended and started to do a series of PDF Presentation document builds. My one page "documents" went fine. Had two multi-page documents. Go thru the menus ok and even see the page by page presentation during the document build and then no error. Come to find out, all the multi-page files have the proper "name.pdf" but have a file size of zero. Now this never happened prior to installing CS4.
Q1. Did the installation of CS4 actually remove function from the installed Photoshop CS3?
Q2. What happened to all the Photoshop CS3 plug-ins? Don't see any way to get a listing in CS4.
Maybe I missed it but was all the function removal from CS3 with CS4 ever described in the "What's New in CS4" documentation?

I have an image (1200mm x 1200mm) very sharp and crisp. (A photo that i have worked on and has lots of detail) I drag this image onto a canvas size of 150mm x150mm - and the image loses all of its sharpness. It is not apparent until i zoom in to see the detail. (PSE10) I'm sure that there is a box somewhere to tick..........but i cannot find it.
when i drag it over, it is still the large size, so i grab the grips/handles and shrink to fit, then it pixelates?
