Photoshop Elements :: Getting Photos - Dragging Photos From Windows Explorer?
Jan 17, 2013The instructions in Adobe Photo Elements 11 Classroom In a Book are the classic Windows "Drag and Drop" Method. However, when I try to do it, the cursor/icon I am dragging turns into a gray circle with a gray diagonal when it reaches the Media Browser pane in the Organizer and the folder/photo is not imported into the Organizer when I "drop." Do I need to change setting in Windows (Vista, SP2) or Photoshop Elements 11?

Jul 17, 2006I have saved a psd file as jpg using File -> Save as.
Also tried: File -> Save for web.
When I look at the newly saved jpg file in photoshop the colors are great.
When I look at the same jpg file in Firefox or Internet explorer the file look bleached (a lot lighter in color).
How do I save the image for view on web, and then make sure the colors match more closely to the original file?
To manually correct for the missing colors would be a lot of work, and I hope there is an automated way of doing this?
Using Photoshop 5.5.
Both images viewed on same computer in same light.

Mar 24, 2013I have CS4 and have battled with this issue for a long time now. I am so tired of it. Before I throw out my Epson Pro Stylus 3800 and PS4 software I thought I would ask one more time. I calibrate my monitor, I have taken photoshop classes, been on webinars for calibrating my monitor, etc. And no matter what I do, my photos print several shades darker than what I see on my monitor. I use no color adjustment in my ps print settings as well as my printer settings.

Is there a MAIN adjustment (not each photo) in the program which lightens all print-outs? My printer is fine. It copies photos properly and prints out from Windows (My Pictures) properly.

Nov 14, 2012I used to use element 7 to send photos to my friends, and the program understood that my default server was Windows Mail. I bought a new camera (Nikon D800) which has very large file sizes and Elements 7 could not handle these large files and I was advised by Adobe to buy Elements 11 and this program could handle these large files. The unfortunate thing is that when I tried to send photos to friends, it would not allow me to access my Windows Mail server and only showed Microsoft Outlook or Adobe Mail to choose from. I don't use either of these servers for my e-mails, but now I have this programs that does handle the photos from my new camera and allows me to organize and adjust my photos, but I can't send them to my friends with this program as it does not recognize Windows Mail as my default.

The reason that I ask is because I looked at a few picture copied this way & the tablet gives the choice of displaying things like where picture taken,presumably from GPS data as well as by date taken etc?
I can call up some picture with where taken but none that would have used other tags.

Dec 12, 2012I'm using Photoshop CS6 on Windows 7 with a dual monitor setup. In a prior version, it was the case that multiple open photos could stay in the application frame, such that moving the frame would move all open photos with it, but without using tabs/partitions, which I dislike. Is there no longer a way to configure it this way? I've experimented with "Enable Floating Document Window Docking" and "Open Documents as Tabs", but they aren't doing the trick.
I'm often juggling several applications, and regularly find it convenient to move things from one monitor to the other based on what specific task I'm doing. I know tabs are one "solution", but are inefficient and impractical in my experience. The images I work with typically start very large and get resized/cropped during editing for use in email and the web. Consequently, I have open a mix of very large and small pictures, some portrait and some landscape. Using tabs or multi-up partitions, I can either view only the image I'm working on or some fixed number of images in a fixed (though adjustable) layout. In the latter case, I can usually only see a small portion of the large photos unless I manually resize them based on the current partition size, which changes based on what else I'm currently working on. If I choose to have one "Fit on screen", it's resized based on the full screen size, not the partition the image is in, so again I'm only able to see a portion of a large image. Smaller pictures end up with wasted space within their partitions.

Jan 7, 2013I have searched, watched videos, and more to try and figure out how to round the corners on my photo. I followed what instruction were available and still no luck. I will describe what I have done.
Objective: Round corners on a 960 px x 250 px photo for a website. Radius 35 px. Photo already sized the way I need it. Background needs to be transparent saved in png 24 so nothing shows except the photo with rounded corners.
Step one: I insert image into Photoshop
Step two: Use rounded rectangle tool:
Step 3: Move photo layer to the top of my rounded rectangle layer
Step 4: Clip Alt+Enter line between the layers: I get nothing but the transparency.
Step 5: Merge Visible. Still Nothing.

With all the sort and search functionality, I don't understand the benefit of albums.I name my image folders using a standard naming convention with the date embedded so it makes them rather easy to manage.

When I attempt to sync photos in iTunes (to synch with my iPhone), Photoshop Elements appears in the drop down and when I select it, it finds all the "albums" in the catalog. However, when I select an album to sync, iTunes indicates 0 photos are available in the album.
I'm running photoshop elements 11, iTunes 11.0.1.12, Windows 8 Pro.
if I try to sync "all photos and albums" it still reports that there are "0 photos" available to sync.
I've tried to make new albums, which iTunes "sees" the names, but there are "0 photos" available to sync.
I've also tried to sync with a folder (file system) which works just fine.
