Photoshop Elements :: Importing Photos Under Folder Named My Pictures
Apr 3, 2013I am using the trial version of Elements. I imported photos from my G drive, but it refuses to import the photos under the folder named "My Pictures". It sees the folder and subfolder, but not the pictures, even though it imported all of the photos under other folders, and imported the pictures in My Pictures under the C drive. Is there any way I can import the photos without renaming the folder?

Jul 29, 2012 take jpg + RAW pics with my DSLR, for the most part the jpgs come out fine but now and again I like to tinker with the RAW's. So I like to keep both incase I'm inclined to tinker in the future.
To keep my photo catalogue looking neat and tidy I stack the jpg and RAW so only the single image shows. I can obviously select both images and the select stack, or I can select a whole load of images and select auto stack which then suggests stacks based on photo likeness. This is OK sometimes, but often many images are of the same subject and I don't want 10 stacked, just the 2 same files in jpg + RAW. Is there a way to automatically stack the same file number jpg + RAW?

I have tried:

but that doesn't work because the 'load' command seems to want an explicit name, not a variable name.
Lightroom :: Cannot Use Catalog Named - LR5
Jan 14, 2014I keep getting an error after closing Lightoom "Lightroom cannot use the Catalog named "Lightroom 5" because it is not writable and cannot be opened"
Eventually I have been able to regain acess only to have it happen again, it is happening every day now. I have tried shutting down services and programs, sometimes it works. I have restarted my computer, I have deleted previews.lrdat and that worked once, but not always. I have saved and optimised the catalog, still happens. there is no journal file open or in existence when this error happens and finally, now I have lost my publish services which represent the record of hudreds, even thousands of online images
AutoCAD Map 3D :: 2 Layers Named 0 - Not Locked Down
Apr 9, 2013In my layer prop manager, I have 2 layers with the name "0". How is this possible? Also, I'm trying to move the lines/polylines on either one of these layers and it won't move because it's locked. But when you look on the layer manager, BOTH of the 0 layers are not locked down.

The function would be creating a different viewport name for each separate item with the specified layer name in the drawing. there will be multiple items. The viewport will need to center the item to screen before creating the named viewport.

Sep 3, 2011I'm trying to work with linked colors. I understand and can successfully manipulate both "Tint of another color' and "Shade of another color." I'm having a difficult time getting "Linked to another color to work as expected. The help document doesn't seem to offer much.
+ I create a named color called "S0" ('s'-zero). It appears on the left of the color pallet as a square.
+ I create a 2nd named color called "s1", and instruct that it's to be "Linked to another color". The color that I select as the Parent is "S0".
+ I see no way to control what linking attributes are to be assigned, aside from simply checking on/off the H, S and V option boxes.

Apr 22, 2013I just installed Windows 7 since I had to switch to a new system. For some reason I can't open files that have special characters from Croatian language in them. It all worked normally on Vista. My Windows 7 regional settings are set to Croatian etc.

After the error I can't access the hardware texture rollout on the shader. I create named views for each area that will become its own sheet when I go to paperspace. Right or wrong that seems to make it easy to create all of the layouts.
I would like to be able to create a table thru attribute extraction that will take-off parts in an individual named view so each layout sheet will have a parts list for only the items I want shown on that sheet.
The only two options I see in attribute extraction are for model space only and entire drawing. Am I going at this wrong?
Example: I would like a table showing all of the window types on level 1, level 2, etc. on the same sheet as the key plan for that level.
Lightroom :: 5 - How To Get All Catalog Items Correctly Named And Together
Jul 31, 2013I recently upgraded to LR5 and I imported catalog from LR4. However, all the backup files LR now creates are named LR 4 not LR 5. I created a top-level folder called "Lightroom5-Original Backups" and LR now corectly places the catalog in that folder. But the Previews and the other folder it creates are still going into my Users/MyPictures/Lightroom folder. My catalog names are "Lightroom 4 Catalog-2-2.lrcat" not LR 5 and the preview files again are still called LR4. How can I 1. rename all the backup material as LR5; and 2. get it all put in the same place, ideally my "Lightroom5-Original Backups" folder? I am scared I will somehow lose everything which would be a major proble, My LR now has over 80,000 photos and the LR catalog is nearly 1 gig.

Oct 24, 2013I am trying to insert an excel table using a datalink. If I insert the entire sheet, it includes too many cells. If I set a print area and choose that area, it will not insert the table. The first time it acts like it is going to work, but then never lets me place the table. The second attempt it just will not let me select that data link. If I actually name a group of cells, I get the same behavior as the print area. Have issues with importing excel tables? Am I missing a step?
My work flow is
Create an excel sheet & format the table.
Select desired sells, set print area.
Save & Close excel
go to annotate tab in civil 3d
select table icon
choose from data link
launch data link manager
create data link and choose range of cells as print area.
Press OK
it never let me choose insert point.
I have also tried to simply make the datalink and then run the table command with the same results.

Is there a command out there that can change the font of just that attribute to Arial through out the drawing. I do not want to change any of the other attributes and they all use the same style.

I understand how to create a localized (to a layer) copy of a named color but how do I move its associated tint or shade or linked relationships to the new layer?
Let's say I have 5 circles on Layer 1. Circles 2-5 are all Tints of the color of Circle 1. Now, I copy all five circles to Layer 2. I select Circle 1 (Layer 2) and make it a Named Color Local to the layer (Layer 2.) That option is in the Color Editor. I see how I can change Circle 1 on Layer 2 without changing Circle 1 on the original layer, but the other circles on Layer 2 have lost their Tint relationship to Circle 1 (Layer 2) and do not change in the manner that they continue to change on Layer 1 if I alter Circle 1 on Layer 1.
Is it possible for the Tint, Shade, Link relationships to survive the Make Named Color local to Frame/Layer option? (Page197 in Pro6 manual,)
Maya :: Import Error / No Module Named Stereo
Jan 19, 2013Whenever I try and click on the "Render Settings" button, it gives me this error at the bottom right of my screen. It appears in red, so I am guessing it is a critical error or something along those lines.
But once I click the "Render Settings" button once more, the window pops up (with the addition of the error) but with absolutely no options or tabs to choose from or click on. With the exception of the render layer option and the render type (Maya Software and so on). This leads me to believe that this error (being: Error: ImportError: No module named stereo), is preventing Maya from functioning properly and preventing me from modifying all of the appropriate render options.
AutoCad :: Printing Blocks With Named Plot Styles?
Dec 4, 2011I am trying to insert blocks (nuts and bolts, external equipment, etc.) into a drawing that uses named plot styles. Then I want the inserted blocks to print with, say, 30% screening. I've tried different flavors for the blocks, By Layer, By Block, Layer 0, other layers, etc. The only way I can make this work is to go to the original block with Block Editor, and then change the individual lines to "30% Screening". It is pretty time-consuming.

I am adding them to my LR catalogue, and while moving them to one external drive, also copying the files to a backup drive.
The files are named and put in the correct folder on the main drive, but the photos backed up to the second drive are put in a folder called "Imported on October 6, 2012".
Why? How do I turn this off?

AutoCAD 2010 :: Named Views - Set Current Freezes New Layers
Oct 9, 2012I have a drawing with several views I've saved using the View Manager. Since creating the views, I have created some new layers. Now when I use View Manager to set an existing model space view current, the new layers are set to frozen. When I created the views, I un-checked the 'Save layer snapshot with view' checkbox.
I can thaw the new layers, then use the 'Update layers' button to correct this, but it's a hassle. Why is it freezig layers created after the view was created?

Jul 16, 2013In 2008, one could create some Mtext using a type font named ISOCPEUR and type of line of text. One could then go to the Express Tools/text/explode text function. That would explode the text and one could then manipulate it so that one had a bunch of letters that were polylines. One could then extrude the polylines and either add or subtract them from a solid and create either recessed or proud lettering on a part. That meant you could mark a casting or a molded part just like in the real world.
But in the fully advanced, super dooper, state-of-the-art, fantasmagorical (sp) AutoCAD 2013, if one goes to Express Tools and selects the explode function, the command TXTEXP is not recognized as a valid command.
