hitting the "edit named selection set" button or selecting it via the menu option instantly crashes my max to desktop. I've tried switching UI's and changing display driver away from nitrous... so far no luck
even tried a repair, next option would be a complete reinstall
My edit named selection sets window will not open. The button will not work nor the shortcut under EDIT, i have restarted, i have competely uninstalled max and i have updated with FBX plugins from autodesk. I use this command A LOT and it will not open.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I am using either the magic wand tool or the polygonal lasso tool in Photoshop CS, the tools cause the program to behave strangely, including:
-crashing (program error, PS shuts down)
-PS completes a lasso by itself without me completing it
-using the lasso tool causes the tools pallete to go blank, and hovering over each tool restores it
Is there a fix for whatever is causing this bug?
I recently upgraded to Civil 3D 2013. I am regularly crashing when I pick objects, usualy in the erase command, then type "r" to remove some of the objects. After I've picked the objects to remove and hit enter I get a fatal error. This is happening in several different drawings so I don't think it's drawing specific. Today it happened with the stretch command. I'm not sure if it's happening everytime I remove objects but if not it's quite often. A co-worker said he has noticed the same thing.

I was using the 'Isolate Objects in Plan' on my Model when I experienced a fatal error, and my system went down. So I went to my latest Autosave and opened it back up, only lost 5 minutes at the most. No, big deal, right?
But now I have objects missing, and when I go to save it says...
..."Save command is not allowed when edit in view session is active"...
It must still be in Edit in view, the only problem is that the small dialog box which takes me out of edit in view is missing. So, how am I supposed to exit this session? I have nothing active in the ribbon, nothing in the tabs a the bottom of the screen.

when I select and save selection in Alpha Channels the selection is all blacked out and cannot use selection .
How do I get the Selection area to be white (Usable) instead of Black ?
Is there a setting somewhere for this ?
I tried to use invert but didn't help .

View 4 Replies View RelatedI thought that I could just use Quick Mask to manually paint with 100% black or 100% white to adjust the boundaries of the selection and then save that final selection as my alpha channel.
However, I'm discovering that when I do this, I end up getting a weird grey-ish artificat (which incidentally, I can't figure out how to remove it). How I should be properly modifying the selection prior to actually saving it.
In mesh edit mode, when you assign a material to the selection, it works as expected, it assigns the material only to what is selected, for example, a face.
In poly edit mode, it works differently, if you try the same approach it assigns the material to the entire object and you have to deal with multi-materials and material IDs to achieve that, what is very boring and totally unintuitive imho.
Is there an option to make the poly editing mode work like the mesh editing mode, or at least another way to achieve the same result in a intuitive or at least 'visual' fashion?
It does not matter if I shift and click left or right, the selection will not highlight in order to move to edit or to delete. It just stopped suddenly.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm working on Autodesk VBA, and I'm trying to get user input on which vertex to use for a constrain. I want to make a macro that can go into part edit, allow user to select a vertex, and then automatically set up the constraint. Initially I wanted to do this in a single macro, using this short piece of code

While this worked when run directly from VBA, if I call it as a macro in Autodesk itself, the DoEvents doesn't seem o work because I wasn't able to make any selection at all. I googled and it seems like this is just how macros are.
So I split the code into a 2 subs and a function (as attached), and put them into separates rules that I call using a form in Autodesk. The first sub "Meta1Pin1_1" works, then I would select a vertex in edit mode. But when I go ahead and call the second sub "Meta1Pin1_2", I get the error message that I created which says no vertex is selected. But if I select a vertex and call the second sub again, it will work.
So I've been trying different things and I realize that every time when I first call the second sub, my selection is erased teh moment it goes into the sub. But, for some unknown reason, the selection will remain when I call it the second time. I can't figure out what exactly happened between the first and second call of the same sub, that allowed the selection to remain.

I did something and I'm not sure what. But my selection tool has changed. Now when I try to alter the length of a clip in a timeline, it automatically switches to the rolling edit tool with the 2 arrows on either side of a line. If I try to just grab the end of a clip it also drags the end of the clip beside it as well. It affects inserts and almost anything I do. I can't figure out how to return my selection tool to normal.

I right click and go through the edit menu and does not appear or is not available? Would I have to reopen it manual in photoshop or is there a way around this to access that setting? it sometimes does not appear on my already edited photos.
I would prefer not to open each photo again, as some files i do not have and were imported into the document with another computer.

In my layer prop manager, I have 2 layers with the name "0". How is this possible? Also, I'm trying to move the lines/polylines on either one of these layers and it won't move because it's locked. But when you look on the layer manager, BOTH of the 0 layers are not locked down.

I'm trying to work with linked colors. I understand and can successfully manipulate both "Tint of another color' and "Shade of another color." I'm having a difficult time getting "Linked to another color to work as expected. The help document doesn't seem to offer much.
+ I create a named color called "S0" ('s'-zero). It appears on the left of the color pallet as a square.
+ I create a 2nd named color called "s1", and instruct that it's to be "Linked to another color". The color that I select as the Parent is "S0".
+ I see no way to control what linking attributes are to be assigned, aside from simply checking on/off the H, S and V option boxes.
I just installed Windows 7 since I had to switch to a new system. For some reason I can't open files that have special characters from Croatian language in them. It all worked normally on Vista. My Windows 7 regional settings are set to Croatian etc.

I create named views for each area that will become its own sheet when I go to paperspace. Right or wrong that seems to make it easy to create all of the layouts.
I would like to be able to create a table thru attribute extraction that will take-off parts in an individual named view so each layout sheet will have a parts list for only the items I want shown on that sheet.
The only two options I see in attribute extraction are for model space only and entire drawing. Am I going at this wrong?
Example: I would like a table showing all of the window types on level 1, level 2, etc. on the same sheet as the key plan for that level.
I recently upgraded to LR5 and I imported catalog from LR4. However, all the backup files LR now creates are named LR 4 not LR 5. I created a top-level folder called "Lightroom5-Original Backups" and LR now corectly places the catalog in that folder. But the Previews and the other folder it creates are still going into my Users/MyPictures/Lightroom folder. My catalog names are "Lightroom 4 Catalog-2-2.lrcat" not LR 5 and the preview files again are still called LR4. How can I 1. rename all the backup material as LR5; and 2. get it all put in the same place, ideally my "Lightroom5-Original Backups" folder? I am scared I will somehow lose everything which would be a major proble, My LR now has over 80,000 photos and the LR catalog is nearly 1 gig.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am trying to insert an excel table using a datalink. If I insert the entire sheet, it includes too many cells. If I set a print area and choose that area, it will not insert the table. The first time it acts like it is going to work, but then never lets me place the table. The second attempt it just will not let me select that data link. If I actually name a group of cells, I get the same behavior as the print area. Have issues with importing excel tables? Am I missing a step?
My work flow is
Create an excel sheet & format the table.
Select desired sells, set print area.
Save & Close excel
go to annotate tab in civil 3d
select table icon
choose from data link
launch data link manager
create data link and choose range of cells as print area.
Press OK
it never let me choose insert point.
I have also tried to simply make the datalink and then run the table command with the same results.

I am using Autocad Electrical and I have an attribute name INST for the installation code in multiple blocks in my drawings. Is there a command out there that can change the font of just that attribute to Arial through out the drawing. I do not want to change any of the other attributes and they all use the same style.
