Photoshop Elements :: Untagged Items For BMP Files
Sep 8, 2013We are trying to sort through 28k photos in 60 folders. Would like a way to search every folder at once for say "untagged" items, or for BMP files.

Photoshop :: Why Untagged RGB?
May 27, 2007I processed a bunch of raw files at 1998 rgb. but notice weeks later these images in Bridge say RGB in details view, but when open in PS, it says untagged?

Oct 11, 2013Working on a WordPress site. Some images I upload work just fine, others won't display. Noticing the ones that don't in Bridge are marked as "untagged."I'm guessing that is the issue. So I've tried the following to ensure they are sRGB.
A. In Photoshop Image>Convert to Profile>sRGB (Then either saving as a JPG or using Save for Web)
B. In Save for Web>JPEG>Progressive>Embed Color Profile is off>Convert to sRGB checked
Despite using either method images are marked as untagged.
Illustrator :: Assign Profile To Untagged AI-File?
Jun 11, 2013I have an issue when assigning a profile to an untagged ai-file. When doing so, and choosing "Save" (NOT "Save As") the file remains untagged when reopening it again.
Try it yourself: Create a new file in Illustrator, and select Edit > Assign Profile, and then choose "Dont Color Manage This Document". Choose Save As, select Ai-file, and in Illustrator Option choose NOT to Embed ICC Profile. Close the file, and reopen it again. Now you should be promted with a Missing Profile warming. Assign a profile, and Save** (NOT "Save As") the file. In my opinion the file should now be embedded with a profile, but when reopening the file, your again promed with a missing profile warning.
**This doesnt happen it you instead of "Save" choose "Save As", or if the ai-file you start wih doesn't miss the profile, but just has a wrong profile.
Photoshop :: PSD Files Saved In Temporary Items Has Disappeared
Mar 1, 2013I was working in Photoshop CS5.1 (OS X 10.7.5) and the original image I started with was saved in TemporaryItems, long story short I spent 4 hours working on an illustration and saving the .psd files versions in the same TemporaryItems folder, planning to move all the files tonight. Just came back to it and the files are gone! I may cry pixel tears, desperately running out of swear words.

Aug 29, 2013Many of the users on my school network cannot save their Photoshop files to a specified folder. Instead the files are automatically saved to User/Library/Caches/Temporary Items folder.
I've changed the File Handling Preferences with no results in changing this issue. Since a couple users did not experience this problem, I'm wondering if it might be a permissions problem.

Aug 29, 2012At the bottom of the Organizer screens it always says "972 items dated etc". But then depending on something I do, possibly with tags, it sometimes shows "36 items not shown" for a total of 1008. Note the View does not show any hidden files. One thing I noticed is when I put just one photo in an album and click on the album it will say "1 item found 1007 items not found for a total of 1008.
What concerns me most is that I have 36 photos floating around somewhere that I can't see.

Feb 21, 2014I have two enhancements that would really make my day in Photoshop Elements Organizer:
The first would be the ability to move and copy items from one catalog to another. This might entail being able to have more than one catalog open at a time. I could then drag and drop or copy an item from one to another. I have several items in a family picture catalog that more appropriately belong in my genealogy catalog. The only way to rectify this now is to delete from the one catalog and then recreate it in the other.The second would be the capability to stream albums directly to my Smart TV. Windows Media Player can currently do this, but I would have to recreate my albums in Windows Media Player, which seems a waste of time if I have already built albums in the Elements catalog. (There apparently is a way to do this currently using iTunes and an Apple TV device, but I would like to be able to do this directly from Elements). The above two enhancements would be really cool!!
Photoshop Elements :: Wood Art Items - Touch Up Background In Photo
Jan 4, 2013I use a light box to take pictures of my wood art items. The walls of the light box are made from foam core boards and light wooden frame for increased stability. Even though I can place a poster board for background color inside the light box and curve it up the back to create a seamless surrounding, parts of the corners may get in the picture.
I have recently purchased Photoshop Elements 11 and am in the learning curve. Can I touch up the areas of the light box corners that show up in the photo? This is probably done in Editor. I have used another "old" editor Microsoft Picture It! Publishing Platinum 2001 for years where I would use paint to touch up the background or cover up something in the background. But it was difficult to get the background colors to match even if the color was white.

Nov 14, 2013I have a small sublimation business whereby I print photo's onto small personalised gifts such as mugs, phone covers fridge magnets. I print out the images to fit the size of the gift i.e. a phone cover or mug the images are a specific size.
Often I want to print multiple items onto one page each with a customised size as the paper is expensive and I need to make the most of every sheet. I can't figure out how to do this in photoshop elements 12. I am using windows XP

Apr 17, 2013I am hoping to link text items between pages and items in the drawing such as elevations?
So, ideally, I would have a front page to my drawing set, and this would have a 'Contents' type table on it, with the title name of each drawing in one column, then the drawing number in the next column. This is the tricky bit, someone must know: If i was to change the name / number of any item in this table, could it change also (linked to) the following items:
Drawing title (as a text idem on the layout sheet that that drawing relates to)
Drawing number (as a text idem on the layout sheet that that drawing relates to)
Elevation call-out (on the plan view)
And possibly:
Excel reference cell
Drawing layout tab title (this might be pushing it!!)
Perhaps this could be done by linking to an external Excel spreadsheet with these titles modified in there? I'm not sure. This would be ideal as typing into excel is a lot easier than the triple click text modify method required currently.
I waste a lot of time renaming and updating sheet names / titles / numbers. Are there standard templates for drawing sets that may have this built in available anywhere that I could try?
Photoshop Elements :: Copy New Files Only (Ignore Already Imported Files) Not Working
Dec 27, 2013I am using Photoshop Elements 10 Version 10 (20110831.m.17215) and everytime I plug in a memory card to upload images it wants to upload every image on the card, even though it has previously uploaded images from that card, even though I have the "Copy New Files Only (Ignore Already Imported Files)" box ticked in the preferences Camera or Card Reader section. This gets very frustrating and time consuming when I have to go through the images every single time to uncheck the images that have already been uploaded.

Jan 2, 2014PSE 12 has a new feature under Preferences/Camera or Card Reader called "Alutomatically Stack RAW and JPEG." Checking this will stack a RAW & JPEG file combination, i.e., when shooting with the camera's RAW + JPEG setting checked. In my case PSE 12 appears to stack my Panasonic RAW files and each JPEG thumbnail shows the right facing arrow to expand the stack. When I click the arrow the arrow disappears but the stack does not expand to reveal the RAW file. The RAW file still exists on the hard drive, but I can't find any way to reveal it in PSE (I've not tried to re-import the RAW files because there are a lot of files in a lot of folders.) This is rather critical and needs to be fixed.

May 15, 2013I am using CS4 for Mac. My tools and window panels were missing on the side. I placed them back in but noticed something odd happened under the Image tab in the menu bar. Normally I can select from the color modes under Image to change RGB photos to CMYK. For some reason, the CMYK mode is now missing unless I manually select SHOW ALL MENU ITEMS at the bottom of Image - Mode tab. How do I fix it so that all the color modes appear when I go to Mode under the Image tab? This happens every time now when I open a new file. It doesn't seem to save when I quit out of the program. I couldn't find it in Photoshop preferences.

This is happening for all of my windows (Navigator, preferences, etc.) I have to close the program and re-open to fix.
Running Windows7 64-bit. 12 GB RAM with an ATI FirePro V8700 card with 1 GB on it as well. I have all of the latest drivers for the card (installed yesterday). This should be blazingly fast, and it's chugging along like my CS3 used to with 4 GB RAM. Are these issues with speed and the corruption of the menu items related?

Jun 8, 2012it did not do this at first and I can still drag items directly onto my canvas as smart objects but when I drag photos from LR into my PS thumbnail at the bottom, they appear so tiny, I can't even make them out. Clicking crtl/0 does not enlarge them, I have to press ctrl/+ several times to make them larger.

Nov 7, 2013In Photoshop (Mac OS X), I typically use the pattern type cmd+shift+/ to open the help menu, type the phrase of the menu item I want to use, and then hit enter to activate the selected menu item.
I just checked Photoshop CC and the enter key does not seem to correctly behave as it should. Instead of activating the selected menu item, it just dismisses the help menu.
Is there a way to force the enter key to behave correctly, as it does in other apps?

Nov 16, 2008resetting itself to factory defaults. Now I notice it has taken to hiding a lot of my menu items and I have to click 'Show all menu items' every time I open a menu. Most frustrating. And I can't find a way to force the blighter to do the decent thing and keep on showing me all the menu options. how to do this as the help files are less than forthcoming.
