View 1 RepliesI have been using elements 11 for months with no problems. Yesterday, out of the blue, I started to be unable to go back and edit anything I did when working in the program. I cannot deselect an image or text unless I change the tool I am using. I cannot then reselect something I have moved on from to edit it. I am very, very confused as to why I cannot use basic functions anymore in this program and it is making it impossible to use.

If I log out of Elements completely and then re-enter and go to use the clone tool, the brush 'pixel' circle dimension comes up as normal and works as it should. As soon as I go to text mode and then back to clone stamp or blur tool, I just get the cross hair and no circle dimension 'cue' ! how to go from text to clone and get the circle cue dimension instead of just a cross hair without having to log out of elements each time.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded from vista to windows 8.
I then upgraded from Photoshop elements 9 (I think) to Photoshop elements 11. I had catalogs and pictures scattered in different places so one of the options was just too gather all of the photographs on the hard drive and start a new catalog. It worked, and so all of my pictures are under one catalog name which is perfect. The key word tag categories are listed as I had sent them up in the previous version, but none of the photos are actually labeled with their keyword tax. How can I reattach the tags to the pictures.
I've been using bridge the past 2yrs, currently CS5... and looking to switch to Lighroom4.
Thing is, I'll probably use bridge from time to time, and already started rating stuff in Bridge. I noticed when I opened Lightroom that the star ratings were there which is great, but, in Lightroom I setup a copyright and applied it to a group of images which when in Bridge I'm not seeing.
When doing star ratings, keywords and copyright tags... do the files/images saves that info? I don't want to spend the time cleaning up my system in Lightroom, to find out that when I burn the files to discs and use on other systems or in Bridge the info doesn't carry.

When switching from the Library to Develop module, there's a several second delay. However, when going to the Book module, LR4.1 will beach ball for a good 15-20 seconds. Other modules (Slideshow, Print, Web) are better, but....
My spec's: 2010 15" MacBook Pro, 2.4Ghz i5, 8gigs of RAM, 500gig 7200rpm HD, nVidia 330 with 256mb of video RAM.
I'm using Lightroom 2.6 on a Mac G5. I've got 93.36Gb of photos ( 9,000 RAW files plus their sidecar files) on a 500Gb firewire 400 drive. I'm upgraing to a 1TB firewire 800 external, and my file is (I believe) on my internal hard drive under users somewhere.
I can piggy back the new and old externals, or copy my photos to the internal and then transfer to the new drive when I connect it, but I have no way of connecting both firewire drives to the computer at the same time.
What's the most effective and easiest way to transfer my catalog and photo files from one drive to another and have Lightroom find them and sort everything out?
Almost every time I switch in and out of Lightroom 5.2 running on OS X mavericks cursor and keyboard control freezes up for around 10-30 seconds. Other applications including LR still continue to work during this freeze up but the mouse cursor will not move and I just have to sit and wait for a little while and everything will resume normally after this delay.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI recently updated Lighroom 4.1 to 4.2 successfuly, but now any time I go into the Develop module, Lightroom pauses, then crashes and forces me to quite the program. Is this a bug than needs to be ironed out, or is there something else going on?
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo, this might be a silly question. I have lightroom on one monitor and when I drag it over (the program window) to my other monitor it pops (changes color) after about 1/2 a second. There is a shift in color. I'm wondering if it is the monitors ICC profile or something weird like that? Both of my monitors are samsungs (different models) and they are both using the Samsung natural color profile.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm a huge fan of Full screen mode (pressing F) to review my image large without UI clutter. However often the image in Fullscreen looks quite different from what I see in normal mode within Develop. The full screen image is brighter (by about 0.5EV) and lacks contrast. Exporting the image and reviewing externally shows that it is faithful to the version in normal Develop mode.
Originally I thought this was due to visual perception where the dark border made the full screen version appear brighter, but this isn't the case. Using Lights out mode with all tabs collapsed and then switching to Fullscreen also exhibits the difference. Further I've taken screenshots of both modes, put them in layers in Photoshop and the difference is very noticeable switching between them.
I'm not sure if nobody is noticing or using Fullscreen or if it's somehow unique to me? As it stands, without being able to trust Fullscreen mode showing a faithful image it's rather useless as a review tool.
I'm running LR5 on Windows. I've got the grid view on my primary display and a second display showing the loupe view.
If the focus moves to another application (i.e. a small notepad window on the primary display) then I can still see LR with its grid view in the background behind notepad on the primary display however the loupe view on the second display disappears and I can see the desktop.
Is it possible to configure LR not to automatically hide the 2nd display when the input foucs moves to a different wiindow? I'd like to be able to continue displaying the image on the 2nd display while I'm doing something else on the primary display.
I've not been able to check but I've a feeling this is new behaviour in 5, I don't think 3 or 4 did this.
When I change to process 2012 on an image that has been worked in 2010 I'm seeing a big change in the image, much brighter, less contrast. Any way to closely preserve the old look while updating the process?
Also wondering what the new 2012 process brings to the image, aside from access to the new tools. Will I see a better (or just different) rendering of the image from older files?
Sharpening applied in develop module is not shown when switching back to library module. It looks the problem occurs when having size to "FIT". With 1:1 there seams to be no issue. Export also looks fine in 1:1.
I use Mac 10.9.1, LR5.3, Nikon NEF 24Mbit from D600.
I hope this is a way to get support from Adobe.
I am running LR4 ver4.3. All of a sudden I receied an error message stating cannnot switch to module. I have tried all the usual stuff before going out to the web to look for fixes. On adobe's site they recommended 6 things which I did exactly as instructed and still nothing..I am running iMac mountain lion and everything on my computer is up to date.

View 2 Replies View RelatedLast year, I purchased Adobe CS6 Education Edition for a mac. I just switched to a PC because my Mac broke, and am now wondering if I have to buy an entire new version for my PC. I have the registration information and Adobe CDs.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I switch between Photoshop 6 and other apps, particularly Chrome, I have to actually click the Photoshop icon, sometimes several times to get the system to focus on PS and show those menus. Clicking the window, which works for every other app, doesn't seem to work here. I'm on Snow Leopard 10.6.8 and using the latest PS6.

I've got an image of a light blue wave. The wave is not a solig color, but consists of many blue variations. The background of this image is white.
Now I want to paint the background blue and the wave in different shades of white and light blue. How can this be done?
When I open an image a guide line appears horizontally above the image in the gray background frame. I don't see an option to switch off the guide as default. Have I missed this?
You can clear the guide easily enough but I'd like an option to stop it altogether. I have changed the colour to light gray so it is unobtrusive but it would be helpful to get rid of it.
Strangely, I have the same problem in Dreamweaver CS3. Guide lines always appear on open pages. Can't get rid of those either.
I am a MacPro user and after a few hours of use the tools switch of, by that I mean clone, brush etc just will not work. If I restart, they work okay anyone any idea what is going on please?
I am using CS3 Extended.
Is there anything around that will control the loading of Photoshop filters in the way that Conflict Catcher or Extension Manager used to control the loading of extensions under System 9 and earlier? (I'm on a Mac).
Usually I know what I'll need before I begin a session so it would be nice to thin things out before starting.
i threw all my brush ABR's into the adobe Photoshop/Preset/Brushes folder so they would appear when I click on the expanded options inside of the brush panel on the top/right under the close "x". however that icon is so small and annoying to click on, does anyone know of a easier way to load/switch between brush sets?

Photoshop CS6 constantly setting the keyboard focus to the menu bar? This makes it difficult to use shortcuts.
Typical examples: I want to switch to the Move tool, so I press V, but instead, the View menu drops down. Or I press T for the Type tool, but instead, the Filter menu drops down. This happens often and it's very annoying.
This also happens in Premiere Pro CS6, and happens on both my Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 machines. Doesn't happen in other applications, and is not related to actually using a menu, i.e. if I choose something from a menu, then press V, Photoshop will often work correctly and activate the Move tool. This behavior seems to happen randomly.
When working on large documents, the cursor freezes for 8-10 sec when I switch from PS to another app/finder. It also happens when I switch back to PS. 8-10 sec. of complete freeze out until everything starts working again.

I'm currently using Photoshop to stitch together many images at once, so I often open 6+ images at once. As it takes a little while for Photoshop to open all these images, I would like to use another application (web browsing, typing in a document, etc.) while Photoshop is loading.
However, every time Photoshop opens a new image, the computer switches back to the Photoshop window, making it very difficult to use some other application. Is there a way to disable this switching, either in the OS or Photoshop? I'm currently running Win7 64-bit and Photoshop CS5 Extended 64-bit.
Using Photoshop CS6 (13.0.1) on a Mac Pro OSX v 10.6.8 it is no more possible to switch through open image windows with the OS related key combo "command <". There is also no Photoshop own configurable command available, that could solve this issue. CS5 or versions below always allowed that, and I very much miss this practical and fast switching between images, much faster then having to maneuver down through the "windows" menu.
