Sep 3, 2013All of sudden, PSE9 stopped importing images, says 'import failed'. I tried to reload PSE9, no change. Tried deleting & reloading PSE9, no change.

Oct 27, 2012I receive an "Import failed" message when trying to import my iPhoto library to my trial version of PE11. I am running Mac OS X 10.7.5 and using iPhoto 11. I have tried 4 or 5 times now with the same result.

Oct 11, 2013I'm trying to build my first catalog and keep getting an Import Failed on certain files. These are .jpg images and can be opend outsid eof PSE 12 just fine. I've looked at the image properties and they look fine (just as fine as images that are able to be imported). Is there anything that can be done? I'm trying to move off of Picasa and these images have been imported just fine into Picasa.

The images are fine viewed on the back of my D800. I'm thinking it must be the upgrade as I've never experienced this before.

Apr 6, 2013I tired importing photos from one folder and about 300-400 of them weren't imported (out of about 1,000). I deleted them and tried again. Same thing. On the third try it imported all of them.My thought was maybe it's going to take more time importing images from my folders than learning to use the program. I can't learn the program if it keeps dropping images. I tried another directory of about 3,000 images but it only accepted about 300 of them. No matter how many times I tried, it would only import 300 out of the whole batch. These are good jpg files that all my other programs have no trouble with.

Dec 20, 2012I changed Adobe Elements version (from 10 to 11) and Brand New all-in-one Dell XPS computer that comes with Windows 8 as OS (From XP SP3) ... Now my import in Adobe Organzer gets stuck. Adobe Elements sees the camera, and compares the files on my camera to the photos in Organizer and knows how may are duplicates. I then select all the photos it finds as Non-Duplicates and tell it what directory to import into and select (Finish/Import) and it just sits there. I can change anything on that screen for options, but it really is locked up. I have to use Task Manager to end the task so that I can get back into Adobe Organizer.

Oct 3, 2013Premiere Elements 12 does not import CMYK still images as it is time consuming to have to keep converting to RGB. Does Adobe propose to remedy this? Also, a 'generic failure' message is not exactly useful. And it would also be useful it the official Adobe list of acceptable files made it clear that CMYK could not be imported. I always thought that Adobe were experts when it came to file formats. How would we manage without Adobe Photoshop?

I get a response that says "nothing imported - no supportive file types" also "can't complete request as file appears to be from a camera model which is not supported by installed version of Camera raw". I think I understand that I need at least a 7.2 version and don't know what I have. The camera is a fairly recent model.

May 28, 2013My Lightroom 4 on a Mac has stopped importing from a memory card. It used to do so, but now it hangs up and never actually imports the photos. If I save the photos from the card to a folder on my desktop, it works just fine. I have tried several different memory cards at different speeds, sizes, fullness, and it doesn't seem to matter. Aug 10, 2012LR 3.6 has worked OK before, but now stopped importing photos (jpeg and raw) from my cameras (Canon 5D Mk 3, Canon Powershot 100). Program goes to "does not answer" - status and must be closed. The problem seems to be similar in my Elements 8. Importing from my Canon G10, LR says that there is not preview available, but importing succeeds. All cameras import photos to Windows (7) or Picasa normally.

Oct 2, 2012I am no longer able to import any new files into Lightroom. I was in the middle of an import and all of a sudden it stopped and the program hung. I am running Win 7 64 with an i7 with 12 gigs of RAM. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Lightroom multiple times (Using both the windows installer and via Lightroom and then searched to see if there were any orpne files on my drive. ) , did a system restore to a point about a month ago, tried importing a simple jpeg file from the hard drive as well as CR2 files (Canon) and even DNG files. Also tried setting up a new catalog with no success. Plenty of hard drive space and no drive errors. There is nothing wrong with the files as I can open them in Photoshop. I can see the files on the import screen though they are not always rendered. When I choose import it just starts, says Importing files and hangs. When I finally give up, and I have waited an hour or more, and kill the process I get the message - No photos or videos were found to import. Other tidbits. Takes a long time to be able to select files to import from the import screen. System seems to run for some time before I can select or deselect (If this were a Mac it would show a beach ball during this wait) Each time I quit or try to change catalogues it asks for the weekly backup (my default) even though I backed it up sometimes as recently as within the past 10 minutes and those backups appear to be valid and in the directory. Every other feature, including Export seems to work I just can no longer import files.

Jan 2, 2014Let's start with my setup. I am on an iMac running Mavericks, which has been loaded since the first day of relesae. I have been using Lightroom with my camera since then with no sign of trouble and my camera is a Nikon D7000. I am not a newbie to Lightroom.
Here's what happened. Started Lightroom, plugged in D7000, turned camera on, went to Import screen. Unchecked a few images, created a folder for them to go to, applied 'Auto Tone' & copyright, did not rename the images. Hit Import. Then window pops up (which I didn't make a note of because I thought I could try it again) says error with the folowing files 1-100 (with checkbox) 101-200 with checkbox etc. So closed it out. No images were imported. Went back to Import only to see that the camera is not being seen at all, not even a camera error message.
So, I did the folowing things. I have restarted Lightroom, turned the camera on/off, disconnected/reconnected the camera in a variety of situations such as, before app launch & after app launch. I even tried to import via Bridge but no camera. Did I mess up the Camera profiles?
