With all the sort and search functionality, I don't understand the benefit of albums.I name my image folders using a standard naming convention with the date embedded so it makes them rather easy to manage.

I then select Photos and all my iPhoto and Photo Booth files open. But I cannot click on (well, I can click on them but nothing happens) any photo to pull it into PE6. It seems a simple operation, but apparently not for me!

Jan 31, 2013A recent book by Philip Andrews - ELEMENTS 10 FOR PHOTOGRAPHERS gives instructions on Page 34 of how to transfer images from iPhoto on my MAC to Elements 10 - Organiser.
However the Dialogue Box - "Import from iPhoto" does not open and therefore will not allow me to select the iPhoto EVENTS folders and transfer them to Elements Organiser as Albums.
It only provides the option to transfer all my images in i Photo as a complete block.

Each time I try to import, it goes through some number of photos, up through 2,00 plus sometimes and then says import failed and I get nothing. It claims the file is the wrong type (only jpgs and psds). I don't know what the stumbling block is or why elements doesn't jut ignore files it can't read and go on to the next.

Apr 6, 2013I tired importing photos from one folder and about 300-400 of them weren't imported (out of about 1,000). I deleted them and tried again. Same thing. On the third try it imported all of them.My thought was maybe it's going to take more time importing images from my folders than learning to use the program. I can't learn the program if it keeps dropping images. I tried another directory of about 3,000 images but it only accepted about 300 of them. No matter how many times I tried, it would only import 300 out of the whole batch. These are good jpg files that all my other programs have no trouble with.
