I really like Adobe Camera Raw. Is there a way to set the default open options to ACR? I'd like to particularly have jpgs and Tiffs open with ACR.
I'm using PSE11 on Windows 7. My ACR version is 7.1.
I can open one JPEG at a time, or multiple Raw images in ACR.
Have checked other sources including Barbara Brundage "The Missing Manual" but whilst it does not specifically say you cannot, likewise there is no indication that you can.
I've searched for the Camera Raw setting that is available from the Photoshop (not PSE8) menu but it is not even available in Photoshop Elements 8 that I've been able to see. Where this setting is?

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I plug my camera in, its a Panny TZ25 in this instance, Aperture opens on my Mac and I can see the photos on the camera, Lightroom does the same if I open it but my trial version of Elements 12 doesn't see the camera, the import option is greyed, but if I select "open" I can open the remote disc icon and view the folders on my camera. I assume there is a problem with a twain plugin of some kind ? I would have thought 12 would have had the camera in its list by default. It did in LR as I mentioned.

Is it showing me the jpeg created in the camera? If so, the jpeg settings in my camera are not only important in viewing the LCD and the histogram in my camera at the time of capture. They would also be important in viewing my image when it first opens in Adobe Camera RAW.
I just loaded PSE12 onto my computer yesterday and everything seemed fine. This morning an update came through for ACR 8.3 and it has been stalled at 99% for about 8 hours.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am trying to adjust the white balance using photoshop elements 11, all the information I have come across tells you how to do it using the camera raw plug in. This has been updated and still I do not see it listed when I click on the file menu. I take photos of antique gold lockets using a light house and even though the custom white balance is set on my camera the photos are still coming out too canary yellow. I need to be able to adjust the colors so that they are more antique rose gold looking and have been reading different articles and videos on how other people adjust the colors and would like to try a couple of the ways I have seen but am unable as the camera raw plug in is not showing up as an option.

I downloaded with CD yesterday; I downloaded many photos from my camera and everything seemed to work fine. Today, I can access the photos with the "Organizer" and do quick fixes, but I cannot access the full Editor. I am going down to the "EDITOR" buttom on the Task Bar at the bottom of my screen. I click this button and nothing happens. Also pls note that I cannot access the Editor from the shortcut that the installation put on my desktop.

They all state to go File>Open, then browse to the jpg you wish to open, select Camera Raw from the file type and select the jpg. When I select the Camera Raw file type then all the jpg images disappear in the selection area or if I click the jpg first and then select Camera Raw and open then it says file not found. Am I doing this wrong or are the articles I am reading incorrect?
