When connecting my camera PS offers the Elements download facility and then loads Organiser. In Organiser I can tag files. In Bridge I can see files, including these photofiles, but the tags applied by Organiser don't show although it (Bridge) would allow me to add key words. I am trying to understand the difference between Organiser and Bridge so I can decide which one to use. Are there any advantages and disadvantages to using either of these with photos, and since I will use Bridge for other files should I stick to that for everything or will Organiser offer me something additional that is not available in Bidge? Is there a way for the Organiser applied tags to be seen in Bridge?
I have been tempted by Adobe to upgrade from PSE5 to CS4 at a reasonable price. I have about 6,000 individually named photos in pse5 organiser / pse5 "collections". If I upgrade to CS4 what do I need to do to process these organiser/collections images in CS4?
Is there a way to transfer all these files, and keep their names/metadata, to CS4? In pse5 "organiser" I can locate any photo by typing in a key word from the photo title; can I do this in CS4 using my present pse5 files?
I am using OSX 10.8.3, Adobe Bridge CS5 and Photoshop CS5.I ran repair permissions from disk utility, and now the results are inconsistent in that if I use bridge to drag & drop a file from the desktop to a folder on the desktop it work ok. but is I dark and image file from the HD to a folder on the hard disk I get an error message that I dont have permissions to do that. (image 1)
and if I dark an image file that is on the desk top to the hard disk, but not to a folder on the hard disk, I get a circle with a strike through (not allowed) (image 2. dam the screen capture as that cursor and that circle with astrike through did not capture, but I am trying to drag the image to the hard disk not a folder)
problems is, Photoshop is running so smooth now, I dont want to have to re install it all, as I have to spend time getting the filters right (as there is some incompatibilities between and extensis extensions and NIK filters and Onone filters.
I shoot in RAW, and have always edited my pictures in Camera RAW via Elements 8. I recently upgraded my old Dell to a new Mac, and now I'm having trouble. I cannot seem to open the RAW files in Elements, this is what I get when I try to open a file with Camera Raw (I know it says Photoshop Raw, but I do have Camera Raw selected):
When I try to open a RAW file in Adobe Bridge, it's not even an option, it's grayed out. BUT, it will let me open jpegs in Camera Raw in Adobe Bridge! So confusing. So far I have tried updating the Camera Raw plug in. I followed the directions exactly, but no dice. When I look at the "about plug in" section on PSE, it shows that it is the updated version, 6.2.0.29. But when I look at a jpeg in Camera Raw through Adobe Bridge, it says Camera Raw version 5.0.
I am using PSE 11 with Bridge 3 version 2.1.1.9 on a MacPro which was recently updated from OS 10.6 to OS 10.8 and now I cannot delete photos from Bridge.
Well, I use normally Bridge CS4 (that was included in Elements 8) to organize my pics and to edit or open in camera raw of Elements 11. I normaly shot in raw format with my Nikon d90. Now I shoted some pics with the new Nikon D7100 and I can't use Bridge CS4. I tried to update but Bridge doesn't work. So now I'm obliged to use Elements 11 organizer. Any possibility to update Bridge CS4?
purchased the 5.5-upgrade to 6.0 Designpremium. Everything seems to work properly except the bridge, wich won't start as stand-alone - works only as Mini-bridge inside photoshop. Â While trying to start the bridge from photoshop ("go to bridge") results in a bridge's crash... Â In my former installations (5.0 and 5.1) everything was ok ...
I haveElements 9 and CC on the same computer. When I click to open images from Bridge, 9 is shown as the Default and CC is not shown. How do I eliminate Elements 9 as the Default?
Photoshop Elements 8 (version 8.0). This is first time I tried to use photo downloader from Adobe Bridge (CS4 3.0.0.464) with my iphone 4s. It crashes every time. Have been to preferences and deleted adobe.downloader.plist. Still crashes.
After opening Bridge CS6 (and using mini Bridge), there are no thumbnails showing. I've pointed Bridge to just one folder with less than 5 photos in it and it cannot even display them. I'm running a recent Mac Pro with 16GB RAM and kick graphics card.
Whenever I try to open the Brushes panel, the Bridge window pops up. I know that Bridge is a media manager, so I'm not sure why is it opening. I really need to edit the brushes and I can't find a way to do it. Is there a way to disable bridge or another way to open the brushes panel that won't open bridge?
Using: CS6, Win7 Â After an external backup drive had its partition deleted we used recovery software to get as many files back as possible. It sorted the files by types but gave them all numbers for names. Using bridge to preview the illustrator files, most show a thumbnail, some just a small illustrator icon. When I try to open the files, some open no problems. Â Some of the files are collections of vector art (multiple clipart in one file). In the preview that Bridge shows, the file is complete and all art is there. When I try to open some of these files, I get error messages like:
"Can't open the illustration. The illustration contains an illegal operand. ##.####.##Â Â %##.####.####.###.....etc."
And when I click "OK" the file is either missing some of the artwork or it is completely blank. How does the preview show the complete file and when opened it's either missing elements or blank?
I think after using a trial for Illustrator in which CS6 bridge was attached I managed to overwrite Bridge CS5. AM I able to use Ps CS5 and Br CS6 together or do I have to look to re-obtaining Br CS5 ?.
I watched the CS4 introductory webcast this morning, and I gathered from it that you don't get Bridge anymore when you buy only one application, like Photoshop.
Can someone shed some light on that? I'm probably wrong on this. When the matter was raised in the webcast, there was a slight, but noisy, car collision in the street here, so I may have missed the context.
It seems that my Bridge has started unstably. I'll give the symptoms and maybe someone can point me in the right direction for repair. My system: Vista Ultimate, Duo CPU, 1.5 & 1.5 GHz, 4G RamBridge v. 2.1.1.9CS3 v. 10.0.1 1. It crashes on a fairly regular basis.2. When an image view has been rotated , (say from landscape to portrait) many times when I go back to Bridge (after closing and restarting) images do not view as originally rotated. But, when I go to rotate them again, they over-rotate. In other words they were in the correct view (portrait) just did not appear that way.3. Many times, after editing an image, the little symbol that indicates that settings were changed, do not appear. These are just examples. Would it be helpful to uninstall and install again?
I am new to Photoshop CS2 having upgraded from 7. My problem is organization. I use photos for everyday work, ( I am a landscape designer), I have portfolio pictures, family pics and creative, personal photos. I would love if someone could direct me to info or a book that deals with using the bridge as an organization tool as I am really having trouble finding a good method for organization so that I can actually find my pics!
When I try to load updates, I am informed that I must close cs5.5 bridge. I then do so. I then try to load but am informed that cs5.5 bridge needs to be closed.
