I restored my PSE9 catalog with tags and albums, but was not successful with restoring the album part. What may have happened? Is there something I should do when creating Albums? Any other recommendations, like using Tags instead? I have W7.
View 1 RepliesMy computer had to be reformatted with the operating system re-loaded (Vista). I reloaded PE 10 and then moved my saved photos back into the software. the problem is that all of my tags (various family and friends) seem to have disappeared completely from the Organizer as has an album I painstakingly set up. I have all the photos, but a subset of them are not organized into the album I created.
Is there any way to get back my tags (the categories aren't even showing in Organizer and the photos aren't tagged) and to get back my album?
After installing Elements 11 I used the convert feature to pull my Albums and Catalog from Elements 9 . I see the Albums from elements 9 listed in my elements 11 organizer but most don't have pictures in them, and some don't have all the pictures that they should. I then try to select the Album photos from an external hard drive to import them but elements 11 tells me that the photos already are in the Catalog and won't download them. I tried changing the name of the Album in Elements 11 to see if I could pull the pictures from the External HD though I get the same message.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am having an ongoing problem with Lightroom 3.6. Once I have loaded the photos into Lightroom and decide to save a copy of the raw files for security, the files in Lightroom are "Lost" and I have to delete them all out of Lightroom and from the harddrive where they still are and reimport from the external harddrive. I am sure this is not normal. I would like to backup my photos especially while travelling but have resorted to "risking" it because of this issue. It happened once and I thought I must have done something daft but I was recently travelling again and exactly the same issue reacurred. I was travelling with a professional photographer who uses Lightroom all the time and he did not understand what was going on - he had never had the problem. The only difference was that I use a PC and he uses APPLE. I am very anxious to address this problem because I think I am tempting fate not backing up my photos. I am using a DELL XPS L502X Direct Base 15 laptop with i7; 8GB dual-channel; 750 GB 7200RPM hard drive and is less than 12 months old and I am using Lightroom 3.6 64 bit.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a new computer and want to move the databse catalog over. I backed up in PSE 9 to an external hard drive. I connected to HD to the new computer and tried a resotre catalog. I chose "New Location" since I was going from XP to Windows 7 and was unsure if there would be a conflict with file locations. I also chose "Restore Original Floder Strucure". Very quickly I recieve an error message "Could not restor file .xml". I have run Restore Catalog several times and each time a DIFFERENT FILE receives the error message. I then disabled Norton Anti Virus Auto-Protect. I then disabled several programs running in the background. Same problem. I then copied the Backup Catalog to the new computer and tried to Restore it from there. Same Problem. I have now run a Repair Catalog on the original file. PSE states there is no error. I want to purchas PSE 11, but wanted to install/restore the database with the same version 9 first.

View 2 Replies View RelatedLoaded Photoshop Elements 9 on a computer that is not on the internet and works fine as long as the user logging into the computer has admin privileges but a user who does not have admin priviledges gets an Error:6 that says to uninstall and reinstall the product. Uninstalling and reinstalling the product has no effect. I believe this to be that the normal user doesn't have permissions to a file somewhere that it needs to write to but can't seem to locate that file as I have given write permissions to Adobe under Programs & Common Files but no success.

I can not, however, get Lr3 and PSE9 to play nice together though. If in Lr3 I request <Edit in PSE9> it only tries to launch PSE even if it is already open but will not open the imaged. If I drag the images from Lr3 to PSE it will be locked and I can not even create a duplicat layer.

I recently purchased and installed PRE11 in order to do some video editing however I first created a slideshow in PSE9 with the intent to burn it to a DVD. The completed slideshow includes 140 still photos (all resized to 1000X750 maximum), transitions, text and music but no video) and when I tried to port it to my PRE11 using the "Edit with Premiere Elements" command, I received the following message "The feature you selected requires Adobe Premiere Elements" and then an option to download a 30-day trial. I did some research online and have read that different versions of PSE and PRE are not compatible and therefore I have the following four related questions.
1. is it correct that my PSE9 will be unable to port to my PRE11? And, if that is not correct, then how do I get past the above error message in order to burn my completed PSE9 slideshow to a DVD via my PRE11? I do not want to convert the slideshow to a WMV to created a CD due to the lower quality.
2. If it is correct that I cannot port between different versions of PSE and PRE then does any program I can use to take my completed PSE9 slideshow out of PSE9 and burn a high quality DVD of the slideshow?
3. If I have to upgrade my PSE9 to PSE11 in order to port my slideshow to PRE11 and thus burn a DVD of my slideshow, is there any way to move/copy/cut&paste my existing PSE9 slideshow to the new PSE11 or will I need to totally recreate it in the new PSE11?
4. If I must purchase and install PSE11 in order to do the above, is there any guarentee that the new PSE11 will allow me to port the slideshow to my existing PRE11?
Seems like an awful lot of work just to produce a slideshow DVD but I'm willing to do whatever it takes since I've already spent quite a few hours getting the PSE9 slideshow exactly the way I want it.
My system is Windows 7 Home Premium, DualCore CPU, 64 bit operating system and 4 GB RAM.
I have the CS2 upgrade disc and the original Photoshop 7,with serial number, but it is damaged.
My CS2 is shown as registered but I am not able to see if that is of any value in this situation.
My MAC prints fine to my printer using IPHOTo software...the problem is with PE9.

Why can't Elements 9 import raw files from my card reader? I am using Fujifim X 20 camera and have downloaded latest version of Adobe Camera Raw.The card reader only imports JPGs. Is there something I should to make sure elements uses the latest Raw Converter?

Whenever I have the text box over the image I want to use I type in the text and it comes up as 'little marching ants' at the bottom of the textbox. View 1 Replies View RelatedI have tried this feature with mixed results. Scaning 2,3 or 4 pictures of different sizes, changing angles using an HP8600 Multifunction device. I have tried both scannig using HP software and directly with Elements at 200, 300 and 600 dpi. Elemets will sometime split off one of the pics but is not reliably sepatating them all. What ca I do to improve my results? I have a lot of pics to scan and really don't want to do them one at a time.

I'm trying to import a .SAT file into ACAD 2000. I'm using the ACISIN command. Usually I don't have any problems with this. When I find a .SAT file that is too recent, I use HOOPS 3D Part Viewer v13.15 for ACIS to save down the file.
Lately I've been trying to import some Colson caster CAD files from 3dcontent central and I have a problem when I get to the ACISIN portion of my procedure. I get this message
"Modeling Operation Error:
Missing integer in restore file.
Unable to read the ACIS file"
The file looks fine in HOOPS. I'm not sure why it's not coming into ACAD. I used to not have this problem but I'm having it a lot lately.
