I just recently installed photoshop from a disk, and I opened a new image the first time easily through the organizer, and everything went fine. But now when I click the editor from the home screen the whole application shuts down, and when I click it from the organizer, nothing happens.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm traveling right now and so not in my natural environment, dont have full resources. I'm using my Mac Book Pro and doing some light editing. I can not, however, get Lr3 and PSE9 to play nice together though. If in Lr3 I request <Edit in PSE9> it only tries to launch PSE even if it is already open but will not open the imaged. If I drag the images from Lr3 to PSE it will be locked and I can not even create a duplicat layer.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've recently bought lightroom 4 which I'm using with elements 9 and I know that lightroom 4 will slightly alter the look of photos previously edited in elements which hasn't been a problem so far. My problem is that photos edited in lightroom/develop look completely different - unusably diiferent in fact - when I move them to elements/editor from lightroom. What am I doing wrong? The photos were moved using 'Ctrl +E' or 'Photo/Edit In/Edit in Adobe Photoshop Elements'.
I decided to check the photos that had been edited in lightroom by going into elements/editor via via elements/organiser and they were fine - only slightly different - but then when I opened the lightroom/library again I got a warning exclamation mark 'Error writing metadata' (not the warning exclamation mark 'Update to current Process (2012)' that you get in lightroom develop).
Am I missing something in the 'Edit Photo With Adobe Photoshop Elements' dialog box?
I'm running Windows 8.1 (On a Mac) and just installed Photoshop Elements 12, but the Editor won't open. I already tried holding down the SAC keys to no avail.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a Dell that runs on Windows 7. I recently received a bamboo pad for christmas. BIG PROBLEM..I was able to install the programs that came on the bundle successfully. However, when i click on the PSE shortcut on my desktop it opens the welcome screen. When i click on Organizer it opens just fine. However, when i click to open the editor it seems to appear as if it is going to launch and then nothing happens. The editor never opens.

When I tried to open PSE editor, Adobe required product registration, which I did. LR created a duplicate TIFF file and everything, and the window popped up asking if I wanted to Edit a Copy with Lightroom Adjustments, etc., and then PSE 11 Editor opened up fine the very first time. (However it didn't seem like some of the tools were working properly, but that's another question for another time.) Subsequent attempts to open the PSE Editor either from Elements itself and LR4 have failed. Editor will not open.

Today, I can access the photos with the "Organizer" and do quick fixes, but I cannot access the full Editor. I am going down to the "EDITOR" buttom on the Task Bar at the bottom of my screen. However, since yesterday, when I use the File/Open command in Edit to get a new picture, I no longer see thumbnails, just a graphic of an orange flower. The pictures (mainly JPEG with some RAW/NEF) still open fine and if I single click one of the orange flowers I get a preview at the bottom of the Open screen. However, this is far from convenient. FYI, I usually work set to "large icons" but I've tried all the different size settings.
FYI, I've recently bought a new computer with Windows 7 Professional 64 bit and reinstalled PSE10. However, all was working fine immediately after the change of computer and the lack of thumbnails has only just started.
My Photoshop Elements 12 editor won't open. I have had elements for 2 weeks and it was worked just fine, but now it won't open even though my organizer works just fine. It pops up with an error message. I have tried the ctrl+alt+shift and that doesn't work either. I have updated all that needs updating.

Today, after installed a Wacom Intuos Creative Pen Tablet, my PSE 8.0 would not open-- nor would Editor and Organizer. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the program, renaming certain files (as read in other answers), creating shortcuts to bypass the Welcome Screen (which also will not appear), among other solutions that I read about for similar problems. Whenever I attempt to open Organizer, a crash report appears, stating that the program has quit unexpectedly--that's all it says. If I try to open PSE 8 or Editor, the circle next to my cursor appears for a moment, but soon it disappears without a single pop-up or explanation as to why the program won't open. Since I cannot access the Welcome Screen, I cannot locate the Preference file to change the name/delete it. If it matters, I use Windows 7.

If I try to run Editor directly from the Elements 11 folder in Progam File (x386) I receive the error message "Error 5". View 3 Replies View RelatedFor several years I have been managing my photos in iphoto and using PSE as an external editor for editing images. I currently use PSE 11 on an iMac with OS X Lion (version 10.7.5). My iPhoto Library is divided into a number of sub-libraries via iPhoto Library Manager. I have unexpectedly encountered a problem attempting to edit a RAW image (in this case a .NEF image from a Nikon D200) in a sub-library containing images shot in 2007. When I right click on the image and select Edit in External Editor the image opens in PSE 11 Editor, but it opens as a jpeg and not as an .NEF image. This is in spite of the fact that in iPhoto/Preferences/Advanced/RAW Photos I have checked "Use RAW when using external editor."
As an alternative approach I tried dragging and dropping the RAW image into the PSE 11 Editor icon in the Dock, but I got the same result.
I just installed PSE 11 on my Mac (OS X 10.8.2). My previous version (PSE 6) would re-open all files that had been open when I quit the app last time, but this version always opens with a blank screen. I can't find any preference in PSE to affect this, and the overall Mac setting is set properly. How can I get PSE to remember what files I was working on?
View 5 Replies View RelatedInstalled PSE 11. OS is Win 7. Worked ok a short time then got message "PSE 11 stopped working". I try to open file from Orginizer into Expert Editor and only get a blank screen now. Tried all three ways of opening into Editor. (Works ok in PSE 9). What other info do you need to solve this problem? This is the second time this has happened. The first time I believe it corrected with out any action on my part.
