Elements 9 - Editor won't open. No problem with organizer, but editor won't open from welcome screen or from within organizer, Checked hard drive and Organizer is listed, but Editor is nowhere to be seen.
View 1 RepliesI get this error message every time I startup the Editor. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the software. The same problem exits. I have tried the Control+alt+Shift when the Editor is starting up and that does not work either.
I am running this on a Windows 7 machine. I am trying to launch the Editor from the welcome screen. The editor comes up and I can see the workspace but then the error message comes up. I get the same error message when I try to launch the Editor from the Organizer.
The error message states: "A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if the solution is available"
I have LR 4 loaded on my machine and do most of my editing there. I tried to open the Editor to create a blank canvas and got this error message. I also get the error message when trying to open a photo in the editor directly from lightroom.
When I attempt to run updates for PSE 11 I get the following error message: "The update server is not responding. The server might be offline temporarily, or hte internet or firewall settings may be incorrect. Please try again alter. Error Code: u41m1c212
I use Photshop Elements 11. When I save a file in Editor mode after amending the photo, the screen freezes and I have to reboot the software.

View 9 Replies View RelatedPSE 12 was working fine until I updated to 12.1. The opening screen comes up as before when you click on the desktop shortcut. The organizer will start from the opening screen, but not the editor. I changed the option to have the program open the editor directly instead of the opening screen and now nothing appears when you click on the desktop shortcut. I am able to open both the organizer and editor by clicking on their respective exe files in the program folder. I am running Windows 8.1 / 64 on a Dell Inspiron 3847 w/ 8 GB of memory.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm working on a large image and while the Organizer is fine with it, neither the Editor nor the Full Screen view of the Organizer will work with it.
Currently I have MaxImageSize at 200M, but can't find a similar setting for the Editor, and clearly it doesn't work for the full screen view either, so if there is a setting that enables these functions, that would be useful information.
I have upgraded from pse9 to 11 and after selecting a photo in organiser then viewing in full screen and enlarging to 100% then exiting, organiser loses the highlight and reverts to the first photo. This also occurs when the photo is edited and saved you have to find where the editedd photo has gone to, it is time consuming when you have a large number of photos in the organiser. pse9 did not do this.Also pse11 does not sort photos properly by the shot date especially when the photos ard edited

When I tried to open PSE editor, Adobe required product registration, which I did. LR created a duplicate TIFF file and everything, and the window popped up asking if I wanted to Edit a Copy with Lightroom Adjustments, etc., and then PSE 11 Editor opened up fine the very first time. (However it didn't seem like some of the tools were working properly, but that's another question for another time.) Subsequent attempts to open the PSE Editor either from Elements itself and LR4 have failed. Editor will not open.

All other aspects of this product opens and works fine . Unfortunately I cannot use the editor or open photos previously modified in the editor. However, since yesterday, when I use the File/Open command in Edit to get a new picture, I no longer see thumbnails, just a graphic of an orange flower. The pictures (mainly JPEG with some RAW/NEF) still open fine and if I single click one of the orange flowers I get a preview at the bottom of the Open screen. However, this is far from convenient. FYI, I usually work set to "large icons" but I've tried all the different size settings.
FYI, I've recently bought a new computer with Windows 7 Professional 64 bit and reinstalled PSE10. However, all was working fine immediately after the change of computer and the lack of thumbnails has only just started.
My Photoshop Elements 12 editor won't open. I have had elements for 2 weeks and it was worked just fine, but now it won't open even though my organizer works just fine. Today, after installed a Wacom Intuos Creative Pen Tablet, my PSE 8.0 would not open-- nor would Editor and Organizer. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the program, renaming certain files (as read in other answers), creating shortcuts to bypass the Welcome Screen (which also will not appear), among other solutions that I read about for similar problems. Whenever I attempt to open Organizer, a crash report appears, stating that the program has quit unexpectedly--that's all it says. If I try to open PSE 8 or Editor, the circle next to my cursor appears for a moment, but soon it disappears without a single pop-up or explanation as to why the program won't open. Since I cannot access the Welcome Screen, I cannot locate the Preference file to change the name/delete it. If it matters, I use Windows 7.

If I try to run Editor directly from the Elements 11 folder in Progam File (x386) I receive the error message "Error 5".
