Photoshop Elements 8 crashes when trying to start Organizer. Funny, that starting the Photoshop Editor is not a problem and works fine.I reinstalled the software and then installed it again, but had no effect.

I'm running Vista Home premium SP2. The product was working OK until about a week ago but now wont open.
I have renamed the PSA file and the Status.dat file but no luck.
I have tried to get to catalog manager by CTRL-Shift on selecting organizer from the welcome screen but it just goes back to the desktop.
The Editor appears to work but I can't access Organizer from there either--nothing happens.
When I first installed elements 12 everything was fine. Now it's not. I can run Organizer but cannot start Editor from Organizer. I cannot start Editor at all. From the start screen the Barber's' pole shows for a few seconds but nothing happens. I have tried uninstalling, from the disc, and reinstalling several times, still nothing!
View 6 Replies View RelatedSuddenly my Photoshop Elements 8 Organiser section cannot be accessed directly from the Welcome Screen as it has always done regardless of which version I had used. I can only access the photos through the drop-down panel on the bottom left hand side of the Editor section. Not very convenient and there appears to be no chance of browsing through photos or accessing tagged photos.

It can be opened via the Editor but few of the thumbnails are shown as pictures rather as empty squares. The situation does not improve with time but tends to get worse with pictures turning into squares. I have tried the tip with preferences but to no avail.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using Photoshop Elements 12 on a new Mac using OS X 10.9.2 Mavericks. The Organizer crashes frequently while I am browsing single images and using the direction arrows to look at the next image. It will also crash when I browse the thumbnails and enlarge a single image in the organizer. There are about 26k images in my library. Some are on an auxiliary drive. I have stacked the images into about 450 stacks to try and cut down on system workload. This problem can occur with only a few hundred images in the organizer from a new download. My system has 8 GB Ram and 1 Terabyte drive which is a combination hard and Fusion drive. The crashes do not occur on every image which is enlarged, just enough to make this process very frustrating. The system restarts quickly, but I have to find the image again and it usually crashes a few more times on the same image. Last week, it took two hours to select three images for a competition and the system crashed at least a dozen times.
I have not lost any data. I have been sending the reports to Adobe. So far I have sent more than 60 reports with no automated suggestions. I am finding this product unstable and unsatisfactory.
I am having a problem with a new install of photoshop elements 10. It turns out this I now have this problem with elements 9 as well. I tried elements 9 in september and it worked great. I revieved elements 10 as a gift and tried to install it and got the following error. I went back and tried to re-run the trial of elements 9 and I am now getting the same error on 9.

I get the following pop up. As you can see the editor does start, but shortly after it starts I get the popup.
I am running on Windows 7 (Pro) 64bit. My video cards are an AMD Radeon HD 6770 and an integrated ATI Radeon HD 4200 with a driver version of 8.920.0, dated 11/9/2011

As I mentioned above, the trial of elements 9 had been working fine. I have made several updates to my system. I can't be 100% certain of the timeline, but I think most were done during the time that I was testing elements 9 and did not break elements 9. i am fairly sure there were a number of updated that were made after my last clean run of elements 9 and before I installed elements 10, namely windows 7 sp1, and various updates, but I was able to install the trial version on a laptop with the same os and same updates.
Photoshop Elements 9 - 11: I thought that, maybe, with the new version out that Adobe would have fixed the organizer 'disappearing act', but I guess not. Finally, when you start Photoshop Elements 11 the organizer actually appears without you having to shut the program down and start it two times. Now, with Photoshop Elements 11, try to minimize the organizer and you can't get the screen to restore either by clicking on the icon on the start bar or by right clicking the icon and then selecting restore. You, AGAIN, have to shut the program down and start it back up again.
Windows 8.0, 16gb RAM, 4GB Video RAM, plenty of HDD storage on solid state HDD, plenty of processing power.
PSE 8 will not print. Two printers are installed by windows 7, B/W and Colour. Read support from Adobe about PSE 8 Organizer a to get a print job done but no PRINT box to select. By Right clicking on photo print shows but crashes Organizer. Have sent a description back. PSE 8 was reinstalled after HD changed to SSD. Was reactivated after install.

I will contact Adobe but I'm out of hours at the moment. In the meantime hunting on forums and internet has revealed to me others who have had this problem but no solution. I am using Windows 8 with 8GB RAM on an Intel i7 processor.

Further email attachments does not work. Brings up an email window which i've not seen before and says no email account assigned. Yahoo is my default client.
I have thousands of carefully organized images in my organizer. I moved the files (no I didn't do this with the software as I didn't know that was an option . . i've moved files countless times in the past with no issue). With this move, my catalog is frozen. I can reconnect many of the files. But on random files, the catalog freezes and will not reconnect. I have to restart and try again (which generally does not work). I tried moving the photos back and starting over, but that has not solved the problem. The catalog and software is now largely useless

I ahve removed all older versions, disabled my anti-virus software, and have uninstalled and reinstalled the program several times with no luck. I have a Dell Laptop with windows 7 - 64 bit operating system and dual quad processor. I have used several versions of Elements and have never had this problem before. The last version that I had installed and worked was version 8.

View 6 Replies View RelatedThe file in question has rendered perfectly before but client requested a small change just before publication, so we have made the change but when rendering, Photoshop crashes.
I have tried the file on both my 27" iMac i5 with 24gbb ram, and my Macbook Pro Retina i7 with 16gb ram. The only fix I have found is to duplicate all layers to an ALREADY OPEN new file, save as a new name, quit PS then re-open the new file and render.

By the way, Elements 9 is so defective, it will not even let me back up my organizer in 9. The 9 organizer would let me select a photo, bring it into the editor, print it and then it would crash... then I had to start all over again... the darn thing crashes as it was prone to problems that adobe ignored. Is it better to just re-load all the photos from a fresh folder that is on my desktop? There are 5,000 !

It always finds them, frequently the same, imports them and then tells me they're already in the Organizer. During this process, which may last 5-15 minutes, I can't use the program.

I just installed the 12.1 update of After Effects, and now I can't open the program. When I try to start up AE, I get the error message:
After Effects warning: Could not rename the file '/Users/USERNAME/Library/Preferences/Adobe/After Effects/12.1/Workspaces. 773.1407350999826081.xml' to 'workspaces.xml'.
I just tried uninstalling and reinstalling AE. Same problem.
I'm facing an issue when I start up the AUTOCAD 2013 on Windows.
I clicked on Autocad icon, and a message is prompted saying "Unknown Property" with a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark inside it, and the software do not start up.
The highlights: Yesterday the software was working normaly when happened a black out. I started the computer again and keep working without any issue. Today when I would keep working on the project I couldn't start up the Autocad.
After installing autocad 2011 on one of our users workstation. we try to launch it and it crashes will opening.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI was already having this problem with Max2012 and now it seems to be persisting in Max2013. I am basically getting regluar random crashes. There seems to be no one specific cause, I can be poly-editing, unwrapping even just renaming objects.
However the most common regular cause is simply clicking on the Max start icon on the top left of the screen, to open, save, import or whatever. When this happens as soon as I click on the icon Max closes, doesn't try to save the file and gives no error message. It seems to be more susceptible to doing this after Max has been idling for a while or the PC has been woken from sleep, but not ALWAYS.
My PC is relatively new, graphics cards are updated, motherboard etc. The only thing I haven't updated is the bios.Max SPs' also installed.
