Photoshop Elements :: 9 Organizer Won't Start
Aug 24, 2013My PSE9 organizer wont start. When I select organizer from the welcome screen it immediately goes back to the desktop.
I'm running Vista Home premium SP2. The product was working OK until about a week ago but now wont open.
I have renamed the PSA file and the Status.dat file but no luck.
I have tried to get to catalog manager by CTRL-Shift on selecting organizer from the welcome screen but it just goes back to the desktop.
The Editor appears to work but I can't access Organizer from there either--nothing happens.

Jul 7, 2013Suddenly my Photoshop Elements 8 Organiser section cannot be accessed directly from the Welcome Screen as it has always done regardless of which version I had used. I can only access the photos through the drop-down panel on the bottom left hand side of the Editor section. Not very convenient and there appears to be no chance of browsing through photos or accessing tagged photos.

I imported all my pictures into Organizer. As it turns out, that included dozens of subfolders containing near-duplicate images, which now all show up in Organizer. That is because I previously used Google Picasa, which backs up the unprocessed original images into a subfolder called .picasaoriginals. I want to remove all these .picasaoriginals folders, but the only wny I can find to do it is to right-click each one individually, click Delete Folder, then confirm in the dialog box. I can't find any way to multi-select the folders.
Also, I have two of these folders that appear shaded in the folder list, where the option to delete is greyed-out. The contents report as not found, and my guess is that the folders have been deleted from the disk. How do I get rid of these from the folder list in Organizer?

Adobe Elements sees the camera, and compares the files on my camera to the photos in Organizer and knows how may are duplicates. I then select all the photos it finds as Non-Duplicates and tell it what directory to import into and select (Finish/Import) and it just sits there. I can change anything on that screen for options, but it really is locked up. I have to use Task Manager to end the task so that I can get back into Adobe Organizer.

Feb 10, 2014I operate Windows 7 with Lightroom 3. My catalogue is held on an external drive from my PC. I have tried to open my catalogue today, but my images (17,000 plus) have disappeared, although my folders are still present. I have the RAW images backed up on a separate drive and the catalogue backed up in two parts by exporting these two sections as separate catalogues to another drive. NO MATTER WHAT I TRY I CANNOT GET THE IMAGES TO LOAD. This is the second time this has happened and I am loathe to start reimporting copies of the RAW files only to lose them (and all the work I have done on them) again. What can i do to get the images and the ones i have adjusted back? I find lightroom a brilliant tool except for this issue of losing images and work.

Sep 24, 2011On the Manage page. Either in Thumbnail mode or Preview Mode I get no images.In Organiser at the bottom all I get is a row of light grey boxes with a X in it and the filename beneath but no picture.
I have associated all file types with PSP although that should not be necessary to get a thumbnail image as I tried the trial version before buying version X4 and it worked as expected.
