Trying to scan images from a scanner into the organizer, but the scanner's automatic naming system resets after every session, so the next time I try to import images I get a "filename already exists" error and the scanned images are lost.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to scan images from HP8600 printer/scanner attached via network. I get this error message "Not enough memoy to complete this action. Please close one or more documents or applications and try again. If this does not correct problem, you can try adjusting the memeory setting in Windows or you can work on a smaller version of the document."
I have already:
- rebooted to have a "fresh" copy of Windows 7
- increased the virtual memory from 6GB to 9GB
- decreased the scan to 100dpi (from the standard 200 dpi)
- tried a different HP8600
- had the HP8600 scan and push the image to the computer (works, but just an average image)
- searched the forum
- read the PSPX5 bug thread

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I just finally updated my OS and my Photoshop and just encountered something I wasn't expecting. I have an Epson GT15000 scanner(big one with a feeder) I installed all the drivers and everything and the scanner works fine, but I can't seem to open the scanner from Photoshop to scan directly into the program. I can open the scanner independently and scan it to a saved file and then open it in photoshop. But it only has limited file type options so I'm basically forced to save it as one file so that I can then open it in photoshop and resave it as something else which is kinda a rediculous in between step and also leaves me with extra files that need to be deleted. Since the scanner itself hasn't changed and still functions the same otherwise I'm assuming it's because I'm using a new version of Photoshop. I'm also assuming that I actually can scan in the program, just not in the way that I'm used to. I used to go to import, and the scanner would appear on the menu for me to select it.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have been using many versions of photoshop elements and edited many of my files. So, now I have very many duplicates, near duplicates, and versions of the same photo. I think I have over 20,000 photos and they are taking up too much space. I tried using a duplicate file remover and it removed several thousand, but I still see many duplicates when I run photoshop elements 11. I am tempted to not use the organizer any more and just rely on a folder browser.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI changed Adobe Elements version (from 10 to 11) and Brand New all-in-one Dell XPS computer that comes with Windows 8 as OS (From XP SP3) ... Now my import in Adobe Organzer gets stuck. Adobe Elements sees the camera, and compares the files on my camera to the photos in Organizer and knows how may are duplicates. I then select all the photos it finds as Non-Duplicates and tell it what directory to import into and select (Finish/Import) and it just sits there. I can change anything on that screen for options, but it really is locked up. I have to use Task Manager to end the task so that I can get back into Adobe Organizer.

When I edit a photo (did this using "guided edit"), instead of saving the edited version (in a version set), all I get is a grey screen with an hour glass. When I go to my hard drive, I find both the original and the edited version saved, but it no longer shows up in Organizer.

I've tried the Reconnect feature and after running for nearly an hour not a single image has been reconnected (I need to reconnect over 500!). I've tried to manually browse but where to look for them. I am a Mac user, and I do have these images backed up on an external drive.

How do I transfer the entire organizer of Elements 9 to the empty organizer in Elements 12? By the way, Elements 9 is so defective, it will not even let me back up my organizer in 9. The 9 organizer would let me select a photo, bring it into the editor, print it and then it would crash... then I had to start all over again... the darn thing crashes as it was prone to problems that adobe ignored. Is it better to just re-load all the photos from a fresh folder that is on my desktop? There are 5,000 !
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm using PE9. Every time I go to the Organizer (even after switching to another program briefly) the Update box appears, searching Watched Folders for new pics. It always finds them, frequently the same, imports them and then tells me they're already in the Organizer. During this process, which may last 5-15 minutes, I can't use the program.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just installed Gimp on a few of our machines at work, the main reason being to allow users to import images from our network scanner and manipulate them etc...
If we scan several pages at once and import them in Gimp, only 1 page is imported. Once this is saved and closed, we then have to go through the whole process of File > Acquire etc. again, for each page scanned. (We use Fuji-Xerox mailbox scanner utility).
With Photoshop, when importing multiple pages from the scanner, all pages are imported to the main program at once.Is there any way to acheive this in Gimp? It's the only real problem we have with it.
What is the prosedure to import img from scanner to photoshop elements? I'm used to PH CS, and there i have a choise to import scanner, but that is not present in PH elements?

Before now I have used the Twain interface.If I push the "scan" button on the printer, it says "waiting for PC".If I use the WIA import option, PSE asks which pictures I want to COPY.I copied the Import Export directory from Optional Plugins to Plugins, and selected it in PSE preferences, but the option for Twain does not come up when I select Import.

Before installing CS6, I could quite happily scan photos etc via my scanner, from within Elements 8, but now when I go 'File > Get Photos and Videos > From Scanner' within Elements 8 (with Photoshop CS6 not open at the time, incidentally), I get a message saying 'Software for this device could not be launched. The device is not connected or is busy'. I would like to be able to scan from either Photoshop applications.

No problem.Now with 11 this doesn't happen. It doesn't happen with either Editor or Organizer. A search on these pages shows a similar problem with Elements 10. I've carried out this procedure but it doesn't work. Why not? What is the point of this programme if it won't import from a scanner or am I missing something?
