Nov 2, 2012I'm using an Epson Perfection 4990 Photo scanner. I need to tell the scanner I am scanning a transparency but there appears to be no way to do this in Elements 11.

Before now I have used the Twain interface.If I push the "scan" button on the printer, it says "waiting for PC".If I use the WIA import option, PSE asks which pictures I want to COPY.I copied the Import Export directory from Optional Plugins to Plugins, and selected it in PSE preferences, but the option for Twain does not come up when I select Import.

I have a program called PRO Show Producer that will let me put a picture in motion into the transparent window of a picture frame. I have a picture frame but the center is not transparent. I'm running Windows Vista.

May 28, 2005I have two images, a picture and an overlay. The overlay is made in Photoshop using Render Clouds and the Plastic Wrap filters. I overlayed this on my picture using 50% Fill and Linear Light blend mode.
I hid the picture, and saved the overlay as a PNG-8, hoping that the variable transparency would hold. It didn't. The question is, is there a way to control levels of transparencies in a GIF or PNG?
I already know you can edit the Color Table and select different colors, or shades as it were, but there doesn't seem to be any way of implementing 50% transparency. Or really anything outside of either it is or it isn't visible.

Mar 31, 2011I'm having problems with transparencies and drop shadows when publishing to PDF. Look at the attached picture: the text beneath the transparent shape looks jagged; same with drop shadows. This happens only with PDF/X-3 format; I would choose Acrobat 6 or 8 format, if I could, but that is the file format the printer service wants.
Is there a way out?

Oct 16, 2012I wanted to upgrade from PSP 8, which doesn't work well at all any more since I installed Win7 to the newest Corel's PSP x5.After downloading and installing the 30 day demo I went to view some of my saved PNG & PSD files which have transparencies, but PSP x5 will not display the transparencies, instead it turns their backgrounds into a solid white.
I'm still using GIMP 2 which has no problem showing my transparencies, why won't PSP x5 show them and what do I do I need to do to view my transparencies?
