Using PSE9, I put a .jpg photo into the camera raw editing window. After editing it, I clicked on Open Image and finished the tweaks there. When I tried to save it, it didn't allow me to save it as a .jpg, only .psd, .png, tiff, etc. I've tried to Save As but the .jpg option doesn't come up. how to get a .psd file to be saved as a .jpg.

View 5 Replies View RelatedThere seem to be a problem with PSE10 and PSE11 on my computer when loading image files digitized on my film scanner. When loaded into the editor the image file immediate takes today’s date and time, and thus changes place on the timeline. However, sometimes the original image file date remains intact, for no obvious reason. I find this very frustrating.
My setup is an HP computer running Windows7 Ultimate 64 bit, with i7 processor and 12GB memory. My film scanner is a Minolta Dimage Elite II working with a Windows XP-based computer, and data are transferred using memory stick.
It might be mentioned that I have made tests with a fixed set of image files on several computers running WindowsXP 32 bit, and several versions of PSE , including PSE10, without seeing this problem.

I have an assembly that has 4 rectangular patterns that can have any number of elements, sometimes the customer will ask for coating to be applied, in this case i only want to change the colour at the assembly level only.

I am copying a design in the vault & when i go through all the files to ensure they are all to 'copy' there is several which I cannot change their status from 'reuse' to 'copy'
I don't have any of the files checked out & they are all the latest versions.
I've designed a logo with a green background (C: 57,5 - M: 15,15 - Y: 99,73 - K: 1,65) in Illustrator cs6. When I want to save my file as .PDF, and I open my PDF file, the green colour has changed (C: 59,22 - M: 12,94 - Y: 90,98 - K: 62,67). When I save my file as PDF I use the standard properties of Adobe (Acrobat 6, PDF 1.5).

- I apply the changes,
- I close the file.
At this moment, PS ask me if I want to save the changes. Again... A little bit curious, because I already did it, but... I agree. Then, PS ask me now to choice the jpg quality (you know, the scale from 1 to 12). But changing metadata never affect the image itself... So, it should be useless to do that (of course, I made no modification on the picture itself).
I must say that (if I remember well) sometimes I was able to close the file directly.
I don't know what I've done, but I must have changed something in the preferences that has created a problem.
After completing my edits on a jpg file and flattening it, when I go to save it, Photoshop is changing it to a PSD file instead of saving it as the original file. If I manually select jpg it saves it as a copy instead of overwriting the original file.
I have a .PSD file that someone made for me before I had Photoshop that I want to edit. I'd like to change the actual text of the image, but can't figure out how to do it. I can change everything about the text layers, except the text It's probably something very easy, but I'm a complete Photoshop newbie. Could it be that I don't have that font installed, or something like that?

I have a PSD file that has a logo in white against a black background. I know how to change the black background to another color but I do not know how to change the white logo to another color and maintain the existing fade effect. The outer edges of the white logo fade into the black background.
If I was to change the black background to a green background (#808A53) then I would like to know how to make the white logo fade into the then green background.
Ultimately I would like to make the white logo a red color (#7d110c) that fades into a green background (#808A53) but I do not know how to do this as I am a novice with Photoshop.

I have a logo in the form of a png file. It is text with a drop shadow and has a transparent background. This works well on a sites light background but they want to be able to use it on black backgrounds also.
How to change this black logo to white and keep the subtle, faint opacity of the drop shadow? Also, keeping the transparent background?

Looks more natural for my needs. And it's quicker...But I can't seem to get my edges around sculpture perfect. (or even close) I always get a thin outline (halo?) around the object. I use all of the refine edge tools, but still not great. I want to keep a crisp edge between background and object, so I don't want to feather...I'm using elements 11.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently had to reload PSE9 on my Vista 64-bit machine after a motherboard/hard drive failure (yes, supposedly both components failed). I edited a few images tonight and noticed that the time-stamp metadata on the imported images does not match the metadata on the originals--everything is an hour off. I made the original purchase of the product a few years ago and it was fixed by a later update. If it matters, the images are RAW format images and I was using the full edit functions of the software.

We would like to change colors in a piece to see if they are pleasing to the eye. Is it possible to change colors thoughout the whole piece at once? Using a brush to paint over each and every area would be so time consuming as their work is quite intricate. If this is not possible on Elements does Adobe have another software that would accomplish this task.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm using CS6 in Windows 7 64 (bit) - I've successfully used File Types Manager (freeware) to change file type icons (since the Windows file type editing has been removed). My problem is that JPEG, PNG, & GIF change in lockstep - (like you would expect all of a similar type - ex. JPG, JPEG, etc. to do). BMP and TIFF are not affected. Is it a Windows or Photoshop matter? (This was not a problem in Windows XP and CS.) I would just like to have the correct icon (provided in the Photoshop.exe file) associated with the various file types.

They got imported and then automtically converted into smart objects.After that I created a lot of copies of these smart object and transformed them.

I usually have full icons for my files, but for some reason my Photoshop CS6 file icons keep getting turned into the white icons with a little "PS" logo inside. I am using Windows 7 Professional edition on a 64-Bit Desktop.
The icon shouls be a full icon similar to the following (I know this is an After Effects icon - but is just to show an example of what I meant by a full file icon).
My brush and dropper tips had changed when I opened the program today. I'm trying to switch from Precise to Normal. I've tried to change it through Preferences, but it seems that my changes won't save. I have Elements 10 and Windows 8.

I select my paint bucket (and choose the color to change it to) but every time I click on the pattern, it changes the color to a lighter shade of pink vs the green that I am trying to apply. It's almost like it is mixing the color VS changing it.
How would I go about changing the color completely? It is currently light pink and I want to change it to a green that I grabbed off of a diff picture (with the color picker.)
I am having trouble changing the paper source from one cassette to another when printing from Phososhop Elements 6.0 to my Epson XP-600. I am using a Mac and I can change the paper source when using iPhoto so it must be the PS software. Both Epson and Apple agree it must be the PS software.
