I installed the new trial version of PSE11 and for some reason the layer panel does not show up automatically and when I try to open it under the windows menu the layers part is greyed out. The entire layers dropdown menu is also entirely grey.

View 11 Replies View RelatedStarted working with PSE and when I tried to "stamp" a brush shape (whether default brushes or otherwise), the program does something it had never done before....SEE ATTACHED. I will create a new layer to use my brush, but when I try to "stamp" it onto background, the program then creates a layer mask where I can see the brush shape AND a new layer, however ALL that shows up on the background is the icon you can see in my screen grab I am attaching here. What is this icon? (The teeny one middle right of image, black square, outlined in red, with two red circles in the middle) I called Apple, we did a few things, they said it wasn't on there end. I reset my tools, I uninstalled, reinstalled, to no avail. Again, I've reset all tools, the "eye" icon on layers panel shows it should be visible, I've tried layers-->merge visible, I've uninstalled and reinstalled.....

View 4 Replies View RelatedA Levels Adj. Layer sits above a regular Layer. When I make a change with Levels, the image updates normally, but the icon of the image in the Layers Panel does not change--it always reflects its original appearance.
I believe that the icon updated in CS5. Am I dreaming? Is there a new setting?
When Photoshop opens, the layer panel starts closed so no layers can be seen, like this.
It should start opened, like this.
Even if the workspace is reset (e.g. 'Essentials (Default)'), it still happens after Photoshop is re-opened.
This issue only started occurring recently. MC CS6 PS, Windows 7 64-bit.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am running PS CS6 on a MacBook Pro retina(OSX 10.8.3), and PS CS5 on an iMac(OSX 10.8.4).I recently installed the Kwik 2 plugin, from Kwiksher.com
Installation via Extension Manager goes normally.When I open the Kwik 2 panel, I see it try to open it's SWF UI, but after a few seconds I get the twirling colorful ball, and photoshop stops responding. Only option is to force quit.
I created a new user on this machine to try to narrow things down. When I log in as that other user, everything works, Kwik 2 plugin panel opens normally and I can work with the plugin.I'm trying to figure out how I can troubleshoot this. I can't seem to find any place where Photoshop creates logs in situations like this.Apparently, something is being loaded (or not loaded) when I log in with my normal username.
I have quit the program and restarted it. I have restarted the Mac and the problem is still there. None of my other program windows are stuck, just Elements.
It is too far to the left and it won't move over.
I think the layer panel filter is a fantastic addition to Photoshop but I think it really falls down when using the search by name feature.
I wanted to find a layer called "logo" which I did easily by selecting filter by name and searching for "logo". Voila the layer I couldn't find it isolated in the layers panel.
Now what I wanted to do was move that layer to the top of the stack so I selected that layer and turned off the filter. to find that the layer was not still selected in the layers panel. So now what do I do? I don't remember where it is and the search by name is useless in accomplish what I wanted.
I propose that when I layer is selected in the filtered layers panel that it stays selected and visible in the panel when the filter is turned off.
I found that photoshop has onion-skinning for animation in photoshop. The problem is, is that I don't know how to open it up it's greyed out when I open the timeline panel and when I switch to frame-by-frame animation its gone. I don't know how to enable it.

And I want to activate path03 to path09 for further modifications - I would have to select every single path by clicking on it in the Target column.
Is there a faster way like selecting path03 and than holding the Shift-key and selecting path09 ? <- (This obvious solution doesn't work)
I recently started working with Illustrator CS6, and noticed that the Transform option panel in the top tool bar is listed as a word, which i need to click on in order to access the x/y coordinates and the object height and width values. I was wondering if there was a way to set this toolbar so that these options are locked in the tool bar so that i don't need to always click on the word to expand it out. I have included a screenshot of the tool bar as it exists. Also the align options are set up in this way as well.
I also included a screenshot of the same tools in Indesign to give an idea of what i'm looking for, where everything is expanded out.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI had a problem with my fonts be locked in all caps.Clicking the reset buttons did not clear it.On the internet it said to open the 'character' panel and change it there but I couldn't find the character panel.It is not on the menu bar at the top of the screen nor is it available under the Window drop down. I finally found a work around on the internet but would like to have access to the character panel.
