I can open files, but I can't color anything or open a new layer. The options are grey and unclickable. I've tried restarting my computer and everything, but nothing works in Photoshop Elements.
View 2 Repliesso im painting cars for nr2003 and i got a base scheme with layer sets that i cant open. i can simplify it, but it only flattens the contained layers. im pretty sure it has multiple layers in it. i will leave when i get an answer on how to open them in photoshop elements 2.0.

I have a drawing where I need to open the layer manager to turn on a layer in a view port but cannot get to that particular column. As you look across the top of the layer manager I can see all the headings of each column beginning with "Name", "Status", "On" and so forth. The last column heading I see is "Description" but I need to go even further to the right to get to the column I need to be at but can't get there. There is no scroll button on the bottom of the layer manager which would allow me to do that.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI want to color a photo of a brown leather shoe by switching on a color layer under it. I need this because a website script works with 2 separate images/layers. The top layer must be a transparent png of the image (the brown shoe) and the layer under this is a solid color (or more colors). This way you can color a shoe by clicking a button on the webpage.
I tried it using a white shoe on a layer, setting the opacity to 80%, than I used 'Select Color Range' to select the leather of the shoe, than I deleted this selection. This way the shoe keeps the leather look but is kind of transparent. A colored layer under it 'paints' the shoe while you still see the leather texture on it.
i'm making a new color fill layer and want to fill it with the same color like an other (already existing) color fill... how can i simply pick the color from that existing layer? or how can i set the foreground color to the collor of an existing color fill?

The color balance has the 3 sliders and I can adjust:
cyan -> red
magenta -> green
yellow -> blue
Is there a way of converting the RGB values (or CMYK values) from the swatch that is not trial and error that will tell me where to set the 3 color balance sliders to match the swatch color?
I have two maps of same area (different years) and I want to match them up as one map. I can load them both as layers and make the older map transparent so that I can see through to newer map, but older map is larger than the newer map (in the background). I can move the transparent map but I cannot make just the transparent map smaller to fit over the other map. I will also need to rotate the map slightly. When I try to resize it changes both maps. I have tried the transform and the move tool. So how can I make one layer smaller and rotate it it leaving the other layer intact?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have been trying to copy a mask from one layer to a new layer in Elements 11. I can do this in CS3 by using alt and dragging to the new layer. It doesn't work in Elements 11. Is this feature unavailable in elements 11 or is there a different command? there doesn't seem to be much point in spending all that time making a complex layer amsk and then being unable to use it on another layer.

We have an alignment curve table and the data text, first data entry (curve number) is appearing as color by layer (magenta), when all colors are set as explicit colors by element in table style under Display tab. How do I control the color of the first entry to be color by element instead of by layer?

I have added a Layer Mask to the new layer and I'm trying to use the Brush Tool with black forground to cover part of the new layer. The problem:In PSE 10, when using the Eyedropper Tool or clicking on the Foreground Color or the Background Color, the Microsoft Microsoft "Color Dialogue Box" pops up instead of the "Adobe Color Picker" dialogue box. This started about a month ago. I use Windows 7.
I want the "Adobe Color Picker" to pop up (like it used to) inside PSE 10.
