After editing/touching up a significant number of photos, Photoshop Elements 11 either hangs or closes down. Works fine again after re-opening (however, unsaved work lost), but will repeat this behavior again without warning. Running the app in Windows 7 (64-bit), 8GB or RAM and an SSD drive and have applied all program updates.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI tried to create a collage from 3 images. I choose this three images and select the format. After that I click Ok, then PSE will crash. I repeat this a few times by using other formats, but still this wont work.
I am using Microsoft Windows 8 and Photoshop Elements 11.
I migrated from PSE8 to PSE11 with 4 catalogs. PSE 11 works okay with 3 catalogs while crashing with the 4th one.
Symptoms:
- Whe starting Organizer with the catalog it starts indexing of person-data. This stops at 0%. PSE does not respond any more (kept it for 3 hours) and needs to be terminated via Task Manager.
- When starting Organizer with Shift pressed, I can repair and optimize the catalog. When indexing similarity data (German: "Visuelle Ähnlichkeitsdaten erneut indizieren"), Organizer crashes after 100% - crash means: Organizer disapears from desktop and tasklist.
I also tried to repair and optimize the catalog in PSE8 beforehand. This works fine.
I have PSE7 and have always been able to do panoramas. Today when I attempt the app crashes. I restart and it does this many times. I have win 7 that automatically updates. Are there conflicts in updating?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased PSE 11 to replace PSE 10. When I entered the Organizer, everything worked well until I tried to create a new category under a category that had already been created. After several attempts (and crashes) I rebooted the computer and succeeded in creating the new category. When I then attempted repeatedly to create a new album within the new category, the Organizer again crashed several times. I suspect that rebooting the computer will fix the immediate problem, but this should not occur in the first place and is unacceptable as an ongoing problem.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently had my hard drive begin failing and had a new drive installed. I am trying to find out how to download PSE8 onto my new drive. I also need to reload Lightroom 4, which I have a disk for, but I keep getting an error 1935 when trying to install it. I thought I would just go to the Adobe site and download it too, but besides the same problem I'm having with downloading PSE8, my Adobe info only listed PSE8. My records show I registered Lightroom November 2012.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Canon SX30IS. When I use PSE9 to download from memory card, if there are any videos present on the card, the Photo Downloader crashes.
I believe that it is something to do with Apple Quicktime. When I uninstall Quicktime , PSE downloader does not crash while importing media form this camera, but cannot play video clips. On reinstalling Quicktime , the PSE downloader crashes while searching the memory card for media.
I have not upgraded PSE twice now because of this crash. What makes it worse is that Apple Quicktime is a very poor media player, managing about 2FPS on the video clips from this camera when both the Canon and the VLC video codecs can manage 30FPS.
I would much prefer if I could choose to use a video renderer, like using any available Windows codecs rather than insisting on using annoying Apple software.
I am creating subway art and am creating various templates. I would like it so that when I have a text box with a 5 letter word, and I want to enter a longer word, they all fit and just kind of smush together rather than me having to fix the text boxes constantly.

I have a PSD with a layer that is locked.
I cannot find in the manual how to unlock the layer.
I am using Photoshop a lot for more simple tasks, like re-sizing pictures.
Lately I have run into a problem: when I have opened a file and choose the Image/Image Size from the toolbar, Photoshop sort of locks up and will not let me make any modifications to the file. I can escape the lock by pressing the [Esc] button, but I am not allowed to do any re-sizing.
At first I thought this had something to do with the layer being locked, but even when renaming or copying the layer, and unlocking, the same lock-up happens when I try to re-sieze the new layer!
This is a recent problem, didn't use to happen, so I may inadvertently have changed some kind of setting in Photoshop. But a search in Help or this forum has not come up with any solution.
In CS6 when I increase/decrease size of my brush using alt+right-click on pen tablet, sometimes I also unintentionally change brush opacity by couple percentage (obviously my hand won't move perfectly horizontally every time I want to do it). It kills flow during work of course and I have to stick to CS5 for now unfortunately.I have only found option for turning off hardness change in preferences.

Half way through it saves itself, then reverts back to it's original state and saves again. (This is to get the displacment map out of the same file)
What I want is this:
The file will be locked so no-one can mess with it, then I want an Applescript action (or whatever) to launch and unlock it, then when the Photoshop actions finish for another one to Lock it again so when a designer comes to save the file, he is forces to Save As. This will stop the original from being overwritten!
I have some sorta permanent "caps lock" ...im not using it when i write ...i hit Shift and still the caps r still there...i cant change it...its not my keyboard...because it only happens with photoshop cs ...

Every time I hit CTRL+T to transform something I have to go up there and click on the lock so it locks the dimensions as I transform. It's unlocked by default as seen in the photo above.
