I have 102 layout tabs and many more to come on this project. Each layout tab is a different scale (I know, awesome, right?). Is there a quick way to lock/unlock the viewport? I'm ctrl+dragging to create new layouts and it's simply annoying to click the little lock button to change the scale. (**** first world problems.)
Tried messing with the hotkeys but I can't even get F1 to disappear with LT like I can with full version.
Lock/unlock commands have three major problems! No “window selection” to select the layers required to be locked in one go. For example, the “isolate” tool works fine with window selection! In principle, I have no idea about the philosophy beyond which some commands are banned from “window selection! No BUILT-IN icon to Lock All or Unlock All (sure, we can customize it but I’m talking about having this command as built-in)The AutoCAD doesn’t give an alert if a command is applied in the location where particular layers are looked. For example, in many cases, we get into trouble as we move particular objects to discover later that some of the objects were locked! That’s fine, but the AutoCAD should give warnings in case a command is applied where some layers are locked.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I right click on a viewport I no longer get the menu that includes the lock/unlock choice, or anything else. I can select the viewport but I have no control over it. Also when I select objects the layer information is not displayed. Until today I did not have this problem. I'm thinking it might be a settings issue, because if I open this file up on another computer I can control viewport as usual. The only think I can think of that I may have done different is I was experimenting with rotation of view ports.

I entered a few commands relating to grips and something else wich i don't remember, and now I'm unable to lock/unlock viewports and when I select objects to copy and then press _CO or copy button or copy with base point, it deselects the objects and asks me to select them again.

View 8 Replies View RelatedWindows 8 64bit - Ps C i have an image from a client and it's just one Layer but it's locked and i would like to be able to unlock it and also to add a new layer above it which i am also unable to do.
why this is?
i know i can re-save it so that i can add a new Layer at least but i am still curious as to why i can't unlock the Layer.
also, i am building a package of images to sell. I have Locked the Layers but still want the people that (hopefully) buy them to be able to unlock them -
is this not something i can do? must i leave all Layers unlocked? for the most part i have only done so to keep particular aspects of the images safe from being altered by new users of photoshop etc.
How can I unlock my folders so I can copy them and work on them in a separate file? I did "get info" and clicked on the lock on bottom right below sharing and permissions. Then I typed my password, but they revert to locked right away.
I have 100 images to retouch and don't want to retype my password for each one. This happened once before. I don't want it ever.
My computer is not shared, so there's no need.
unlock his .png file?creator locked it somehow and just the normal double click on the layer produces nothing.

I have a .psd button that has a lot of drop shadow and other affects on it. Somehow this layer has become locked.
There is the little padlock beside the layer name with the popup "Indicates layer is partially locked."
I need to change the text and color of the button, but I can't. Is there anyway to unlock the layer so I don't have to try to create a whole new one? The Lock: menu at the top of the layers tab is all greyed out (inactive).

View 9 Replies View RelatedSomehow my pixel dimensions and document dimensions have become locked and when I try to crop an image the cropped dimensions remain in the same proportions of width to height as the original. There are little symbols and brackets to the right of both pixels and inches. I don't know how to remove these. I am using an antiquated version of Photoshop Elements - version 2.0 on a Mac running 10.4.11.

Any clue about this? I can't fill a selection on this particular layer...don't know why. The layer in question IS selected, and the selection is active, etc.
How do I unlock a CS6 extended layer?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI am familiar with art explosion. Anyway, I recently had someone design a logo and I wanted to edit a few things on it. My problem is I downloaded that free trial of photoshop cs5 and the logo is showing up on one layer. I've tried everything to get it ungrouped or unlocked. Every tutorial just mentions unlocking the background but doesn't say anything if you have multiple objects in one layer. It has three oval shapes and the words for the business on it and another image. I'm hoping to ungroup it all but I've tried to do that and I am not able to choose ungroup or unlock because it won't let you. What are the steps for someone who doesn't really know this program to get all of the components of the logo separated. The guy apparently designed it in photoshop so I would think it would be a no brainer and I'm surprised I'm having to struggle this much to get it undone. It's a psd file.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI installed CS3 a few days ago (though I'm an experienced CS2 and Photoshop 6 user) and opened Photoshop CS3 Extended today for the first time.
The problem I'm having is with unlocking the background layer. I read in the documentation and on the Net about double-clicking and renaming the layer (which is what I did in other versions), or creating a new file with a transparent background, but those things aren't working for me in this version.
I opened a tiff file (a logo I want to use as the basis for a new image) but I can't unlock the background layer so I can copy, manipulate or add to it. Everything on the Layers drop-down menu is grayed out, as are the word Lock: and the symbols following it in the Layers window.
I tried creating a new image but when File|New dialog box opens the option to use transparent in the Background Contents dropdown is grayed out, too.
I have been sent a template that contains 4 fully locked layers. I seem unable to unlock them to enable me to edit them. Can someone advise how to do this in cs3.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI was on a tight deadline. I got a massively layered, -- nested folders everything -- .psd. I'm using Photoshop CS 5.5
I only needed the visible layers. So, I go to "Delete Hidden Layers" right? Ooops it was grayed out, I could not use it -- that was because of the locked layers...
Then I realized -- in the complicated layer structure I had to go through every single folder, open it, look for a locked layer and unlock it (nested folders inside of nested folders etc.). If the layer was not visible and it was locked, I had to first turn it to visible, then unlock it, and then turn it off again.
I was on a deadline, and I just didn't have time -- but I had to do it anyway. This was a painful experience... I'm telling designers from now on NEVER SEND ME A PSD WITH LOCKED LAYERS AGAIN
It would have been so much easier if I could just search for "locked layers", and "unlock all."
