Photoshop :: Creating Glass Button Look Out Of Existing Image?
Jul 7, 2013
I have an image that is going to serve as an online ad. I would like to have it look like a glass button like so many online ads do these days. However, most tutorials out there give instructions for how to do it with only text over the button. How would I do it if it's got three different sections to it? A photo on the top half and two colors on the left and right on the bottom?

Any way to put a detailed patten into my glass window.
I have created glass with the slate material editor, used specular 100, glossiness 80 in the Blinn dropdown. Ued mental ray. Looks good, very glassy. Now I want to put a pattern on the glass, like a silouette, only that it is also translucent, part of the glass, as though it was an "etched glass" pattern on the glass. Do i make the pattern into some kind of "mask"? and lay it over existing glass?

I'm trying to make my website look a bit more professional. I want to make the images (in my sub categories) on my website into web buttons with rounded corners to fit a white background & with some depth & gradients etc instead of just flat squares like the buttons I have at the moment
Here a link to the buttons for my sub cats [URL]....
I thought here would be the best place to ask. I know how make buttons from text
but I need to make buttons from the images of the sub cats you see on my site.
I just need plain images that look like buttons to use on my EKM powershop..

How to complete the "distort circle" part of step 4? In other words, what tool would I use to move the top of the circle downwards?
Step 4: Copy and paste your original circle onto a third new layer. Fill it with an even lighter shade of your selected button color. Distort this circle by moving the top downward while leaving the size and position unchanged. You want the top of the new shape to be around halfway down the original circle.
Also, how can I turn the completed project into an orb/planet/pearl shape?

How I could create a magnifying glass graphic using Adobe Photoshop? I did do a search but it mostly came up with instructions or info on how to create one that'll also actually have a "magnifying" or "glassy" look to it.
While just I want to create a simple one, just containing a circle and an handle attached to it. Kinda like the following:
[URL].........
And in case you're wondering why I don't use the above, I'd like to create one with my own colors.

I'm trying to create some realistic glass tube-like objects, but I can't seem to get it right. but the main problem i've run into is that if the background is clouds,or something that doesn't have a lot of definition and color variation, it really looks nothing like glass.

I have an image which is simply a one color gradient, with transparency from nothing to something. I would like to be able to access the existing gradient on the image and change only the color. I have hunted high and low and cannot see how to do this.
(I am familiar with how to make a new gradient and how to change the colors in a saved gradient via the gradient dialogue. But for the life of me, I can't see how to access an existing gradient on an image and change only this one parameter.

I am growing increasinly frustrated. I just installed AutoCAD LT 2013 on my laptop. I managed to get everything customized the way I want, except the button icons on my (classic) toolbar are much too small. If I go into the menu and select 'use large icons', they are too huge. My screen resolution DOES NOT need to be changed or adjusted. I went to the help menu to see what I can do, and found that I can go into CUI and adjust the size of the button icons that way, via the button image editor, however there is no 'button image editor' dialog box when I select any given toolbar command.

The final step, after selecting the folder I want to add, is to select Import. Except, the Import button remains grayed out. I'm not sure what to do in order to select Import and add the folder I already have.

i'm using Photoshop CS, and looking for a tutorial on how to make a glossy image like the orange/yellow-ish one in the banner/header of this site: http://www.mariocarboni.com/
i've seen all sorts of "create a glossy orb" tutorials.. but those are all for circular shapes.. and most of the "glossy button" tutorials i've seen have a rather 'straight' reflection line, or they just look silly.
can anybody tell me how to create this glossy/glass texture on a rectangluar shape with that "realistic" reflection?
THANKS!!

I'm trying to superimpose a label I made in Photoshop on an image of a glass bottle. I have to provide a front and rear view (so obviously the label will be reversed on the rear). The problem I'm having is with the back-side of the label. I'm trying to make it look like it's on the other side of the bottle and therefore require some kind of glass diffusion simulation.

I've got a vector image which I need to make look like it is on the front of a beer glass. (Raised glass effect which I plan to do in bevel and emboss)
My problem is, I want the vector image to look as if it is really on the glass, so I need it to curve with the pint glass on the bulbous lip that goes around near the top, Any idea how I can get PhotoShop to simulate this effect?

The only way I know to create a new character style is to create one, set the parameters, and then use it and apply it to text elements.
Is there a way to create a character style FROM existing characteristics of existing text?

I need to remove the background image which is visible through a stained glass window and replace it with a soft plain background (simulating an ambient light)
I don't really want to artificially recreate the lead grid design and wondered what's the best technique (masking or otherwise) to preserve this detail? I am considering clone stamp, intelligent fill, masking etc. but first I need to create a source of the grid to use.

I am trying to find a faster way to save my images. I shoot in raw, save raw images as jpegs after editing them in Camera Raw. I am using Photoshop CS6 on a Mac version 10.7.5. When I save, I either have to save as a copy of the exisiting image, or replace the image I'm working on. Other forums I've read said to make an action to save and create a function key to make this process faster, but my function keys aren't working, and playing the action I've created still makes a copy of the image.
