A want to redefine default shortcut for command "Create new layer without dialog" but i cannot find this command in shortcut preferences.In which section of shortcut preferences, in photoshop cs6, nested this command?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI've often been annoyed by the fact that that I need to go into the layer panel each time I need to switch between editing a layer and editing it's mask. Surely there must be a way to do this with a shortcut. I found a way to disable the layer mask in the shortcut menu, but this is not something I need to do that often. Switching between layer and layer mask, however, happens all the time - at least in my workflow.

View 3 Replies View Relatedthere is a way to change layer scrolling shortcuts. I know that default ones are Alt + [ or ] to scroll through layers, but unfortunately my country's keyboard does NOT have [ and ] keys. Therefore I am unable to quickly scroll through my layers. So I went into the keyboard shortcuts menu and searched it over and over again and couldn't find the these two shortcuts.
I should change the keyboard setting in Windows, but changing the keyboard setting on my computer is not an option here, because I've been using my country's keyboard + translated version of windows my whole life. Even if I did change the the keyboard to English one in Windows, I still wouldn't know on which keys certain symbols.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI keep triggering this by accident and can't figure out what combo I'm hitting, or how to disable it. I've looked in the Keyboard Shortcuts but can't find it.
I'm on a laptop keyboard, so I use the fn key a lot to access enter when I'm finished editing text. Every once in a while (but often enough to be annoying), I attempt to enter out of text editing and suddenly everything stops, the gray rotating "processing" cursor appears, and for a few seconds I'm in a mild panic about how long it's been since I saved. Then a dialog box comes up asking if I want to switch to the 3D workspace or something. Clicking "no" doesn't stop the unwanted 3D thing from happening, and the last History item then says "Extrusion from Text Layer." I then Undo and go on with what I was doing.
I've always got my left hand positioned over the lower left corner of the keyboard, and move quickly when using shortcuts and switching tools. What combination I keep hitting by accident - something with fn, ctrl, opt, cmd, shift, I don't know, plus possibly return or enter. What is it, and how do I disable it?
I have tried searching to no avail. Of course, the opposite is true, too. It would be nice to have a shortcut key that expands all of the effects.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI just recently discovered the keyboard shortcut for toggling the current layer on and off and it is an incredible time saver. Is it possible to create a keyboard shortcut dedicated to toggle a specific layer on and off regardless of what layer I am working on? I use Photoshop for painting and I'll have a layer set up like an overlay, with my line drawing set to Multiply blending mode at about 25% opacity.
However, as the painting progresses, I need to turn that layer on and off continuously to be able to see my painting without the lines overlayed. I know I lose a lot of time having to go over and turn the eye off and then back on over on the layers pallete. I've tried setting something up as an Action, and had a shortlived success, but when I added new layers or moved them around after setting it up, it stops working. I have to say, it was my first attempt at creating an Action of any kind, so there may be a way to keep it working regardless of what I do to the other layers, Having the ability to somehow dedicate a key for quick toggling of my drawing layer would be another tremendous time saver.
Question: How to select a specific layer inside of a Group, with a shortcut?

I can select an individual layer by holding CTRL and clicking on an area of the image (which is on a layer) in my document. This will direct me exactly to the layer by highlighting it (under layers). This makes it easy to find an area of the art/and the layer it's on.
I am wondering if there is a similar way to select an image that is inside of a Group? (in CS3)
When using the CTRL and click on image command, it goes directly to the Group folder the image is in (instead of the exact layer it's on). I would like to have a command that will go directly to the layer in a group.
I do know about right clicking on an image area and getting a list of the layers. I do not want this.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI use the clone stamp and the brush tool regularly. Each of these tools provides a Mode: dropdown list to select from in their menu bar.
The drop down options I use most frequently are Lighten and Darken. I would like to create short cuts to Lighten and Darken, such as Ctrl+Shift+L (Lighten) and Ctrl+Shift+D (Darken).
The tools panel menu bar does not appear to have a selection list in the Keyboard Shortcuts dialog box.
How do I create these shortcuts.

Everything works fine except the shortcut image is blank. When I right-click on it and select properties, then Change Icon... it is pointing to the correct icon image. If I select OK and OK the icon image appears on the shortcut.
Why does the image NOT appear when the shortcut is initially created?
I would like to know if it is possible to create more then one shortcut key profile in acad2011.
I need more then one acad.pgp file with different configurations that i can load via express => tools any time I want. Tried to make a copy and name it acad1.pgp, acad2.pgp, etc... but when I start up express tools, cmd editor, the option file => open does not give me the result I was hoping for. Does nothing actually, just allows me to view the shortcut configurations in the particular file. Hope that this explains my predicament

View 3 Replies View RelatedI need an easy way to fix a high contrast image such as an interior home shot where the windows are blown out and you can't see outside detail,but the interior is either correctly exposed or is underexposed. Basically what i need to do is combine the correctly exposed interior with the correctly exposed windows, showing correct exposure for both interior and exterior detail. To get the correct exposure i have been taking a shot in which i meter the windows, and without moving the camera, take another shot in which i meter the interior.
Here is where i get stuck. the way i've been doing it, which takes way too much time for my purposes, is to either use the magnetic lasso tool or the polygonal lasso tool to select the area of the properly exposed windows, and then cut and paste the selections to the other layer. The problem with this is,
it takes quite a while and i usually have to go back and do some cloning around the edges to fill in the spots that got missed, which takes alot of time as well, because it usually takes me several tries to get it right. Is there an easier way?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI want to create a shortcut key (like TAB) for example and whenever I start a polyline or move or whatever, I can hit TAB which will grab the angle my cursor is at, and then use the angle lock to lock the cmd into that direction. (This is essentially what can be done in rhino if you are familiar with this).
The manual way in autocad is typing it ("<45") but I just want to calculate angle from the start point to cursor point. and then once hitting tab or a key or a new command, it will lock with that angle. How can I go about programming this.

I am going to show you how to do it with xara
1. make a 256 x 256 pixels (px) square (very thin line 0.5 px , no fill)
2. draw an arrow inside in the left down corner
3. give it a drop shadow if needed
4. export as png
5. use program Iconfx

or

6. open the png in iconfx (drag and drop)
7. a "new image dialog box will open" click ok
8. advanced import dialog box: click ok
9. untitled with the png image in 48 x 48
10. now click the windows icon in the toolbar, that will make the icon
11. save the icon in a folder - give the name empty.ico
12. go to C:WindowsSystem32
paste and replace the the empty.ico which is in that folder (if you want backup the original one rename it to emptyoriginal.ico then restart explorer
this empty.ico is an overlay above any shortcuts for applications, files etc.
Now you will be able to see the custom made shortcut arrow over any shortcuts
